did this with mine a while ago, went to a junkyard and got the parts from a 9th gen EX, totally worth the swap, wasn’t too hard to do either

Did this job a few months ago. It's a huge difference in brake feel. Beware that those bolts can be seized up and you may need cut it out. The emergency brake cable was much easier to change than I thought.

Appreciate the video, was pulling parts off an EX in the junkyard and realized the rear disk setup was still all there and pulled it.

Normally on a hot rod, you have to buy a disc/ disc master cylinder, and get rid of the disc/ drum one. Do we not need to do this on the civics? Aren't they still set up for drum 400psi versus a disc 900psi braking pressure?
@CheeseMeeseGetCheesed
@CheeseMeeseGetCheesed 8 месяцев назад
I checked with the dealer; the master cylinder for drum and disc is the same. They probably did it that way so they didnt have to engineer or manufacture two different parts.

Install a rear anti roll bar from an Si. 14-15 Civic Si's come with a 20mm beefy rear sway which really helps the cars handling. 06-11 Si is a 17mm and helps too.

Dude, do you make house calls for Jeep repairs? I'm in Granbury TX andI have a 97 Wrangler that that needs a mechanic who gives a crap. If you don't do house calls then you might want to consider giving it a try. With all the crap going on with the supply chain mechanics who make house calls are in huge demand.

To anyone doing this: Now is a good time to replace your rear shocks. Hope to the car god's that the bottom mounting bolt isn't fused inside of the shocks lower bushing, but if it is now is the time to address it. If it isn't take it out anyway and put anti-seize on the body of the shoulder bolt.

@developmentdivision122
@developmentdivision122 2 года назад
No dash removal required. Only the center console. At the bottom of the storage compartment, there are two Phillips head screws. In each footwell, there are trim clips that hold the center console to the bottom of the dash. After those 4 fasteners are removed, remove the plastic trim around the shifter and then the center console slides backwards and up to reveal the emergency brake cables.
