This was my first European match. I was down at the touchline right by the corner flag where Charlie Gallagher came over to take the kick. My memory of that is vivid. Charlie taking the kick, the ball seeming to float over in the air of a misty, freezing cold night, McNeill seeming to hang in the air and then the ball heading for the net. Then pandemonium all round.
