Things are changing, and in good ways. Many Counties in CA are now allowing them in backyards as ADU's (accessory dwelling unit), DC allows them in residential backyards, there are several Counties in Fl. where you can live in an RV full time on your own land (Dixie, Taylor, and Gulf), and many unrestricted Counties or Counties with no minimum Square footage requirements. To find those, you have to check with each County's Planning and Zoning Departments. Yes, its a lot of work, but nothing worth having is easy.
@@reynetallents I was referring to Georgia, since I'm not far from Snellville. I lived in Cali a long time - it's not the place to go any more, and FL is completely out of the question! Backyard isn't an option for me either. So my personal choices are slim, if they exist at all. Thanks for the info.
@@sandraleigh4023 unfortunately, GA looks at a Tiny House like an RV. Have you considered a Deeded lot in an RV park, there are quite a few in Blue Ridge, Blairsville, and near Helen. Make sure they aren't restricted (some only let you stay 7 months max, even though you own the lot), or that they don't care if you live there all year.
@@reynetallents Thank you - I have, and as you said, most are intended as vacation properties with limitations for homeowner occupancy. Also, they have "preferred" (more like "required") vendors for home selections, and the prices are around $150k for them. I've looked, around and they are available for less. Properties with NO significant amenities - I don't consider a firepit encircled with chairs much of an "amenity". Or a storage shed with 2 stationary bicycles. You know what I mean?? LOL!
Exactly, in some states there are people that rent a piece land without the utilities from $200-700 and I think is like to continue pay a monthly rent for others.
