LACoFD responded to a reported commercial building fire at 16325 South Avalon Blvd in Carson. The fist arriving firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of a one story commercial building and reported a possible HazMat related fire. It was determined that the business made beauty supplies and hand sanitizer. The rear of the business was packed with pallets and carboard boxes. The fire spread rapidly through the property and into nonboring business's. The fire reached 6 alarms and took several hours to put out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Seems that pallets are the perfect incendiary source, being wood and constructed with plenty of air space in them. Any county regulations for storing large numbers of these, either indoors or outdoors?

That one pumper was in a nasty little bind, I am glad I saw it later in the clip out of that alleyway.

i never understand why people don't move vehicles as soon as they notice a fire
@lesterawalt3184
@lesterawalt3184 2 года назад
They don't move them because that is your once in a life time free way to get out from the car payments on a vehicle that you owe twice as much as its worth, So you leave it there and let insurance take care of it.

It just bothers the heck out of me that professional firefighters are shooting their master streams into the air. Very picturesque but useless as far as fighting the fire is concerned. Firefighting 101: put the water on what is burning.

If you watch the whole video, and even the part where he is shooting the deck gun into the air, he is more than likely trying to keep flying embers knocked down. This fire got big fast due to the fire spreading from wind drive embers.

@@TheRonKlimo The BEST way to prevent flying embers is to PUT THE FIRE OUT. Spraying a straight stream into flames is useless.

Let the firefighters do their job.they have trained and certified for that.

@@ffjsb and the best way to stop flying embers from starting other fires is to knock them down above the fire. This fire was way out of control very fast and early on. Sometimes you got to fight the fire AND prevent spread at the same time.

Did they try to lose an engine and a tiller? I never understand why these guys put more risk into a dangerous situation. PARK AWAY FROM WHAT IS BURNING! They make hose for a reason!!!

I was wondering if they lost that pumper too? I mean, you could see the fire advancing fast and no action to disconnect the lines and get the heck out of there.
