I haven't played MTG in a while, can someone explain why he Reprieved the Force of Negation if it doesn't counter?

It does remove it from stack so effectively counters it. However it is a way to “counter” uncounterable spells

What's the difference between this card and Remand then? Why does remand need to specify that it counters the card?

@@brandonziegler1656 Remand is blue, and Reprieve as said above, gets around the uncounterable clause

@@brandonziegler1656 remand has to counter to bounce the spell. so it can't bounce uncounterable spells. reprieve can.
