Another great vlog! Seriously, wish I could hire you two to be the guide for our trip in 2024! You are fun and informative, and this was one of the very best "places to eat" vlogs I've watched! One of my favorite parts of travel is definitely finding the best local food options, and I agree with you and try to 'make every meal count'. So glad you mentioned the locations for the Cabmen's Shelters! I was wanting to find one, so this was very helpful.

Enjoy! Food videos can be hard if they feature one place. We like the idea of local meals and food experiences. Makes travel more rewarding!

You should add that afternoon tea at the Ritz will set you back £150 ($190) for two (or more.) You can find it less expensive, but no matter where you get it, it will be expensive for what it is. However if you should find yourself in the West Country (Somerset or Cornwall) a cream tea is a must.

If you want to experience afternoon tea in great surroundings try the Wolseley directly opposite the Ritz. Beautiful cafe/restaurant and the cost is considerably less than its famous neighbour 😁

If you’re referring to Buckingham Palace, as a Londoner, I wouldn’t recommend. Usually overcrowded no table service and a bit ordinary. There are literally dozens of much better options.

I actually disagree about Brick Lane. Tried many restaurants there over the years and tbh it's totally average. The prices are reasonable for London, but the food is pretty much interchangeable between the restaurants, and nothing that you can't get in any other Indian restaurant across the UK. I have a feeling that the chefs just move around from one restaurant to the other. The restaurants that tend to get the highest ratings in Brick Lane are usually the ones that aren't doing Indian, but Thai or something like that, and even those are pretty average.

Good vid - but it’s not Cornish ‘parstie’ it’s “pastie’ with a flat ‘a’ as in ‘has’ or ‘hash’ - I’ve never heard anyone pronounce it the way you did and I’ve lived here my entire life😂

It is strange to hear you refer to the Ivy as a chain restaurant. The Ivy opened in 1917, the second restaurant did not open until 2014 so I guess it did become a chain then.

They are lovely restaurants and we like going to them a lot. They are popping up all over the place. Our small-ish town in Surrey got one 5 years ago. I am sure they will maintain their quality!

@@carolineskipper6976 possibly because we assume pastry (short crust) is sweet, not savory.
