I work everyday in studio...in one capacity or another...I either create, engineer, mix, master,or look at old tracks and listen to them again..I'm always growing and learning new things..so I can always see how I can improve on older tracks..and some days it's play days..where I work for fun...my schedule not anyone else's stuff...lol..and then there's cover art...I make my own...
For #10, YES, release the music. There is stuff I released years ago that is not perfect, but I'm happy it's out there. Also, I can appreciate how I've progressed. If I didn't release it, it would be sitting on some hard drive in my basement and never be heard again. Don't worry about people not liking your old stuff. In general, everyone's attention is on new music coming out.
Number 10 is crucial. I can’t listen to my published songs because I only see the things I’d change 🤣 OCD. And for me finishing the songs is the hardest thing to do, I have around 150 demos from the past 3 years sitting on my laptop 🤣
#6 is kinda toxic and not true. I’m working everyday on my music in treated room, everything builded by myself, because I prefer that way. I had 3 different pair of studio headphones and never could work with them for more than and hour. Treated room isn’t essential, but at some point in Your career, it just makes Your life and music better. 😊
Lol Myth 6 got me cracking up. Maybe before saying you don't need it say that you use headphones instead of saying that as an afterthought. You don't need treatment when you use headphones... No Sh*t sherlock. But if you have nice speakers with like a 7-8" woofer your listening to reverb of the room.
