I love Taiwan! Me and my friend had a DIY trip to Shifen and Jiufen, as well as Taipei, a few years ago. I'm glad you tried the peanut roll, it was so good! The best part of that trip though was the locals. I will never forget the old man who suddenly stopped in his tracks when he overheard us say "7eleven" and told us were going the wrong way and graciously pointed us to the right direction. We didn't even realized we're lost! The Taiwanese people we met were all so friendly and kind and I'm glad you enjoyed your trip there.
I rode on Diamond Princess from San Diego, CA to Yokohama, Japan last year between February 2023 and March 2023. Lovely ship. I love seeing it thriving back in its home and I love that my first time experiencing Japan was by riding a transpacific crossing on board this beautiful ship :)

I really enjoyed watching your video. Just by coincidence, my wife and I were on the next Diamond Princess cruise that boarded the day you got back to Yokohama. Of course, our cruise was cut a day short, but the typhoon had passed outside the region and we had good weather on our six day cruise that stopped at Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Busan, and Omaesaki. Princess reimbursed us for the extra day's hotel accommodations and one day of lost sailing time. On the other hand, it really looked like you received great deal on your Balcony stateroom. Keep up the great videos!

Did you enjoy the aroma of “Stinky Tofu” in Jiufen? They make great pottery there. The Tai dong is a wonderful site especially at night during the lantern festival so many wishes hope and desires and the last one I released was in memory of a very dear friend who died. You had a wonderful cruise I wish one day to be able emulate your route and journey. Thank you for sharing your experiences

Naha looks a lot more modern now, than when I was there from 92-94. Hope your wish comes true. The peanut ice cream roll looked tasty. The tour in Taiwan looked like fun, except way too much walking for me.
Arigato for the brief glimpse of Okinawa. In 1965 I arrived at Naha port as a 5 year old (after a thyphoon hit our ship before our stop in Yokohama!). I left in 1970, just before reversion. How amazing to see how much it has changed. I remember when a 3 story department store was built in Naha. It was a thrill to visit just to be able to ride an escalator-the first on the island. 😂 If you go again, plan time at the beaches, they are stunning. The water is warm.

One question, during the bus tour, the guide spoke only japanese? What happens if you are not familiar with japanese?
