Really appreciate all your videos! Very helpful and motivating. I've been prowler sledding (lots of variations) for eight months and loving it (have the top time at gym). Doing my first Hyrox in February in Edison, New Jersey. Will get your manual to help me prep!

You can't say 'dreaded heel strike' if someone is a heel striker as long as it's not in front of the centre of balance it's going to be ok and changing to fore foot landing can take a year or more to get use to and potentially leads to short term calf injury. I know this as someone who changed to fore foot landing a number of years ago.

You are right I say ‘dreaded’ because its been demonised by runners and coaches but it’s why I encourage working on the 3 things I said prior and not just don’t run on your heels, often times increasing cadence starts to correct landing mechanics. Nice work on developing your running form good luck in your next race.

Love the video bro, competing in my first Hyrox in Dublin, unfortunately my brother roped me straight into the pro category 😅 Quick question, any tips on pacing your runs? I normally rely on my gps watch telling me my pace, obviously this won’t work very well indoors at hyrox. I’m obsessed with checking my watch to stay on pace during my runs and it helps motivate me, Should I just get used to running more based on feel and not rely so much on the gps tracking?

Awesome way to push yourself. It’s always a good idea to learn pacing based on feel, hyrox is harder than normal because of each station makes you feel different. I work out what time I want to do each lap in and check my time on my watch. Say you want to do 4:30 pace and it’s a 3 lap course you want to be around 90s a lap.

@@woodsyworkout Thanks! I didn’t even consider the fact that it’s probably multiple laps, that helps quite a lot, allows me to adjust my pace accordingly after each lap. Cheers, keep the videos going, I started my channel in January and I know myself it can be a tough grind to be consistent with the content when it isn’t your full time job!
