I have & love my H Evelyne in Blue & my Soho Disco in Red. They are perfect everyday bags for me. My unpopular opinion: I’d never want an Hermès Kelly or Birkin they both look like old lady bags to me. I have no interest in them.
They are older looking. I agree. And if you can’t crossbody the Birkin and carry it only in the crook of your arm and by the handles, this totally matures the look.
I agree with you on alot of what your saying but the kelly. The kelly looks sooo much better than the birkin to me. Also, im just NOT into Bottega venetta. Also wouldn't buy that fendi bag nor the prada readdition. I feel like I'm super picky with lux bags. My favorite bags at the moment that i have are my ysl medium sunset croc embossed, my lady dior, the dior caro bag, & i just ordered a new release Bvlgari serpenti crossbody bag that I've wanted for a hot minute. I have a feeling that will be in my top bags bc its like jewelry + bag in one. I think it all comes down to the shape of the bag for me. I really like structured bags.
You are my bag twin 😀! I have a ysl medium sunset croc embossed bag in black with silver hardware and I love it so much! I also prefer the Kelly to the Birkin (don’t have one yet but a girl can dream 😀) And I am currently saving up for a Lady Dior bag (I’ll go the preloved route). Not into Bottegas too. I love structured bags too because my style is very classic 😊
I like honest videos like this. So many influencers are afraid to say anything critical, but tidbits about what does not work can help us all make better buying choices. I agree about shoulder bags like the baguette that fall near the armpit. I made an exception for the Prada crystal bag that I love. It’s a sweat spot so I usually just handhold it as I live in a warm client. The Kelly is my favorite bag, but I still enjoy listening to other perspectives and keep us Hermes fanatics more grounded 😆
I love videos like this one and it always amazes me when people get so upset that people's opinions differ on what they like and don't like. I know that for me personally, even though it's an unpopular opinion, I hate the LV Neverfull. The fact that it has no zipper and I feel like anyone can just reach into it and things can fall out of it if it tips over combined with the market being so saturated with both real and fake ones that it's become the "basic" designer bag.
I love the honesty! I feel like a lot of people buy just because everyone else likes the style and it’s “in”. Takes a lot of confidence in the fashion world to just say no I hate that bag.. especially when everyone else loves it. Go girl!
The lady Dior looks like the lunch box I had in college. I don’t get it. I agree with almost everything. I do like the Evelyne though : I like a very high quality classic. “This video is savage but why stop now” 😂 that’s excellent
I own the Baguette and the Soho Disco but you never have to apologize for speaking your mind. What works for some doesn’t always work for others. I wear my Baguette crossbody using a different strap and that’s how it works for me. I love the bag itself and I love the squishy leather so changing a little thing is ok with me… it is removable, after all. I also don’t like the Evelyne and the Lady Dior… would never buy the Multi Pochette, the Prada Reedition and the BV pouch as well. thanks for sharing!
Evelyne for me is a classic, just classy and simply understated. It’s not blingy on purpose. You have to know how to make it work really. Lady dior is the bomb I think too. Guess it’s just preference. The Chanel 19 for me is just the worst bag ever created for chanel . No balance at all the saggy shape. They look scruffy quickly. The strap is too clumpy and heavy for the bag , for me it virtually pulls the bag out your hand if you drop the strap. Resale is already heading downwards on them. Not that I bother about resale at all. I got caught up and bought Caramel as I loved the colour. Sold it right away. Was so disappointed in it..
Spot on regarding Soho Disco! Camera bags in general aren't for me, but this one less so. Love, love, love the look of the Lady Dior though. May be a little too small for my tastes though.
Wow! Lol. I literally own two of the bags! But I see your perspective. The Lv multi pochette is my fav to be around Disney in, parks, school bball games etc… and my Gucci soho bag I love specifically for that- it’s simple . Lol.
I totally agree in terms of the Hermes Evelyne. Why would anyone spend thousands for an everyday bag with a logo that looks like these car stickers with the hungarian country code? Except hungarians maybe….
I'm with you on all of these except the Gucci Disco. I haven't got one but i have contemplated it time and time again. I personally also think Hermes is overhyped and none of their bags are "pretty" to me. Each to their own though 😊 Always love your videos 💕
Agree with you 💯, but the Soho Disco does not hold well. I sold mine because it collapses over time.. It looks great while it lasts but a three season maximum is a shocking life span for a luxury bag.. I take care of my bags and rotate, this should not have happened. However, if you like the slouchy, boho look it has after a while, go for it, the other aspects of the bag are great.
@@carlycop absolutely, yes. It would boost lasting power. It wouldn't, however, help with the upper half of the bag, especially the zipper leather panels. They just collapse inward toward the centre with use. I used one but it was too late and it extended the life of the bag for me for a season or two. If I was younger, I think I'd be really into the softer, slouchier look of it. But I'm in my fourties and I like things to be structured (I think I do it to counter-balance the slouch happening on my face? 😂). When you're a bit older, things look better when they're sharp and neat. I will insist on the value for money, though. I expected more. My Nano Luggage is eight years old and holds up great 🤷
@@qr5vy Oh I'm almost the big 4-0 and like structure too 😂 I think for me slouch is ok with certain bags but im picky. For instance slouchy LV Speedys aren't for me (I have an extremely structured insert in mine for this reason) but slouchy hobo bags are beautiful but they are intended to be that way.. I think I'll think again about the Soho Disco then, there is so many other bags I want aswell 😁 Goes without saying really haha 🛍️
Totally agree on Hermes and a number of your other choices. Kelly is a hassle to get in and out of. I have lady dior and bottega chain clutch and love them both. I won’t buy any bag that has written logo all over it (eg, dior book tote, Chanel deauville, most things balenciaga, etc). It “screams” to me. But to each their own…just as happy to appreciate beautiful bags from afar!
I agree with a lot of the bags you mentioned and I was also thinking the same about the Fendi bag until I tried a brand that made a similar bag. Now I find myself reaching out for that bag more and considering getting the Fendi baguette.
I dont agree with Lady Dior. At first i didnt like it but i bought one and fall in love with it. Dior quality is top of the notch esp compared to Chanel which i also owned. Moreover Dior customer service is amazing. You want friendly SA talking to u to buy 5-6K bag ...
Interesting perspective! The Kelly and Reissue are on my list because they are discreet (only insiders will know). The Evelyne and Soho Disco also are not showy which is why I have them. I really don't care for logos myself but I do think you have great style. Thanks for the video.
Totally agree on some of these especially the Evelyn bag! I wasn’t super keen on the fendi baguette until I tried and got one you can wear it crossbody with the strap! It’s a good alternative to a smaller bag. Prada 2005 re edition is more functional than the MP imo
Yeah I agree with you about many of your choices. I can’t stand the Hermès Evelyn bag and don’t get the hype. I also don’t like camera bags in general not just the Gucci one. I agree that I am a big fan of crossbody bags. If it can’t do that function I am less likely wanting to buy it.
Thanks for this very honest video - it makes you stand out from the general fashion RU-vidrs who only make compliments on bags esp the ones that are on trend right now. I personally own a MyABC small Lady Dior in cannage leather and it comes with a very comfortable wide strap, which makes the bag more versatile as it could look formal without the strap, or casual/sporty with the strap. Absolutely loving it! Also I really adore the design of the lady Dior handles as they have a special technique to not let them fall down but to stay 90 degrees against the bag (maybe it would slightly fall down more with more usage but with new bags that’s very obvious). Otherwise I agree with all of your other points esp the armpit bags which has been so trendy this year but I personally don’t feel for them that much and find it very inconvenient to take things out when they are under my arm or when I have to take the bag off to open it. I don't like the multi pochette and, my friends tell me it's because I "don't want to play the game" and I don't, but frankly, I hate Hermes designs - boring - I take that back, I love a good orange bracelet - but no. I like the handles on the Lady Dior - but I also LOVE the Balmain B-Buzz 23 with Fringe - I know there's a LOT going on - but it looks like a fancy lunch box (which is basically what every single bag in my collection looks like) top handle(s) crossbody and roomy "Tote" styling - cute, child's lunch boxes! I just discovered you channel I've been watching it as comfort, because I think I'm also the last person on the planet (at least in my family) who's tripled vaxxed, but isolating due to my first bought of COVID-19! Thank you for keeping me sane!
Personally, as I’m growing my luxury handbag collection, I find that I don’t care much for LV bags in general. I love their shoes/boots though! I have several! I have the speedy 25 which I bought in late 2019 and absolutely love it, esp in the colder and months but also when it rains. Other than that, I bought another black leather bag (forgot the name) and sold it after a couple of years having worn it twice maximum. It wasn’t my style. I also bought the multi-pochette in black leather and it too was just not “me”. I returned that within a week of buying it from the boutique. I’m more of a Chanel handbag girl. If I ever bought a Hermès it would be a Birkin 30 or Kelly (? Not sure which size). Nothing else.
Agree with everything minus the Hermes Kelly. I like the Lady Dior but I too don't really like the squished handles lol. They look like they're cut in half but that's just me. They're still gorgeous bags though 😊
Great video! I completely agree with you regarding Hermès bags. I suspect that some people buy the non-quota Hermès bags to get an offer for a quota bag. There are some ppl who actually like the aesthetic of the brand. I am not one of those ppl. I like quality and style. Hermès lacks style in my opinion.
The only Hermès bag I like is the Evelyne , the Kelly and Birkin are too Madame , older lady looking …. Like Grandma style bags, I love the Prada / Fendi 20000’s look bags , ! Totally agree with the LV Multipochette, it’s childish to me .
Not every bag is for EVERYbody & that’s ok!👍 We all have different tastes based upon our various personalities. I kind of see handbags & shoes (those are “my thing”) as art/ a creative outlet, & art, by definition, IS subjective. Some people are more into clothing, fine arts, interior design, etc., etc. So that principle applies to all those areas too.
I agree with you on most of these bags especially the Evelyn bag. “Meh” I see it everywhere...it’s a popular mom crossbody bag in my area but it’s so lacking in style and uninspirational.
The Evelyn by Hermès was always meant to be a horse grooming accessory, for keeping the horse brushes in and unlined and perforated to have water run out of it again if it gets wet! 😆
I can see your point in most of these. I’m not a under the arm bag girl either. For camera bags I love my ysl Lou camera bag so much. The only lady dior that I’m in love with is the new black patent with black hardware that just came out. If I hadnt just gotten my third Chanel 19 (this one in the dark grey) I would’ve definitely gotten it when I saw it. I prefer a crossbody bag to an u dearness one any day as well.
No thx to Hermes, it's a warfare trying to get a kelly or a Birkin. Also, agree about Bottega, multi pochette, new Givenchy antigona, prada new edition (paying to much $$ for nylon not even leather). Thanks for sharing.
I love the look of the lady Dior and don’t mind the handles, butttt what bothers me is the opening of the bag. So impractical… I just can’t get myself to buy it
I agree with you on all the bags mentioned. We have similar taste in bags lol. Sophie shohet's taste is similar to mine as well. I do like the kelly more than the birkin, but i like the constance if i had to pick from Hermès.

I agree with the Kelly! Definitely prefer the Birkin. I've also tried out the bottega and its just way too heavy, like you mentioned. I also find the Givenchy to be heavy as well, so personally, I wouldn't get that one but I do love the Dior lady bag and that's on my wishlist to get next!

I’m the opposite. I prefer the Kelly. I’m surprised because you like a cross-body and there’s no strap on the Birkin. Kelly looks better when not done up v the Birkin Always find it curious that you just don’t do up the bags. Does that bother anyone else? Original Antigona all the way- gorgeous- love the medium and even the small.
Agreed with most of your picks. I’m a fan of crossbody bags cos I’d like the option of going hands free. I’ve tried on all these bags and I’m quite tall so both the Multi Pochette and Baguette were both too short for me. Only the Baguette mini was fine but it’s just too small. For the price of these bags, I’d go for leather due to longevity. The Antigona in its structured form just seems more classic and will stand the test of “fashion” time. The new ones seem so seasonal. Likewise, these chain BV bags appear quite seasonal. I like the Padded Cassette bag but was a bit miffed that it doesn’t have a lining. For that price, even fabric lining would be nice. A nice alternative from Gucci for the Soho is the Marmont camera bag. It’s got the GG logo both stitched and in hardware on opposing sides so you can use it either way and has more of a design than the Soho which I liked. I like the Kelly over the Birkin but in the sellier stitching as it’s more structured. If you prefer the retourne stitching which is less structured then I agree the Birkin is better. The Evelyne reminds me of the Stella McCartneys. Just seems rather plain for that price. As for the Lady Dior, I finally bit them bullet and got one. I waited for so long as I was wary about the lambskin and the charms scratching up. When they released the ones with the enamel, I went for it. And for 100 Euros more, the lining is also suede instead of fabric. I actually like the handles because they’ll retain their shape. I had a Prada Panier Tote and some others where the handles just started to get wonky and leaned on one side. Since the Lady Dior doesn’t fetch a lot on resale, I wanted to get one that will retain as much as value as possible in terms of its condition.

Agree with you on majority of your "never buys." I do have the Lady dior and love it. Some bags I'll never buy are a chanel classic flap and an Hermes Birkin. For chanel classic flaps the double flaps are too fussy for me. And for Birkins as beautiful as they are, I prefer bags that have a shoulder carry option. Great video 👍

girl, the gucci soho is such a great bag! nice a light, grained pebble leather is very nice and soft. perfect size for a little outing that fits all my necessities and is understated. its still one of my favorites and I would never get rid of. The prada re-edition 2005 in nylon is really cute. I wear it without the small pouch on the front, with the guitar strap for more casual or the chain to dress it up. Very versatile for me. But I totally agree with the Hermes Evelyne, I think its too expensive for what it is.
I have almost the same list of bags that I would never buy. However, I’m open to owning a Hermes Kelly as I don’t like the Birkin. I do like the Prada Re Edition in leather only, but I never had the chance to try it out to confirm. I have seen the LV Multi Pochette only in canvas and I don’t love it. However, the empreinte leather version looks good, but I would need to see that in person to be sure.
I agree with you regarding the Hermes Kelly. There’s something about it I just don’t like. The Birken I can see the appeal but have never considered buying as I don’t think I would get the use out of it. It’s a bigger bag and for the most part I like lightweight crossbody bags. I also agree with you about the BV bags. I just don’t understand the pouch bag and especially if it’s heavy….no thank you. I like the look of the cassette bag but then again it’s too heavy. I like the original Antigona but it’s a pass on the unstructured one. I keep agreeing with you so I’ve been stopping and starting the video. I love the look of the Lady Dior bags but the handle looks as if it would be uncomfortable to carry. I’m also not sure how easy it would be to get in and out of. I love the fabrics, leathers and colours but the handles are a NO. It’s also a no for me on the Hermes Evelyn bag and the Prada Re edition except for possibly the sparkly one. I do have the Gucci Soho Disco but it’s because I bought it in the red because I wanted a bag with a pop of colour that wasn’t Chanel priced.
Love my Gucci soho for casual days like going to a baseball game, etc. downside is that it flips upside down sometimes. Have had for a few years and it still looks in great condition. Eyeing the fendi baguette Napa leather and have always loved lady Dior mini but the flap on top bothers me. Agree on the Evelyn, Kelly, multi pochette. I’ve considered the Prada re-edition as it’s a nostalgic shaped bag from the 90s. Need to try this on to see the hype. Would not ever get a givenchy Antigona because it’s just too structured for me.

I agree about the handles in the Dior and omg that multi Pochette YUCK and the Soho Disco bag is worn by the geriatric set where I live. I hate it LOL. I won’t buy the Prada re-edition but I think it’s cute. I also think smaller Kelly bags are cute in bright colors. I’m no big fan of the Birkin, though I appreciate certain colors and sizes. I’ll never own one. The Evelyn in any size but mini is SO FRUMPY lol. Fun video!
