I know this is 2 years old but I have to comment. I'm totally a warm shades (and that sunshine yellow is beautiful) girl, and really like 2 and 3 but... no 7 with the dirty, earthy shades pomegranate seed (poss my fav Dylusions color), chopped pesto and ground coffee makes my heart sing so much. It's particular shades that do it for me really, (I could be happy with pieces of card or canvases with the single colors in the shades I love!). But then I also like to be contrary and tend to love the colors and shades that most people dislike, hate the ones that most people love and find many opposite color contrasts headache inducing! TFS :)
Love these! Thanks so much for this video! I’m just starting out and I’m sorta scared to try things, thinking I’m just going to mess it up but you’re right thats art of being creative and if you mess up you learn from it. Thanks so much again, you have inspired me to just do it.
Shira Payano definitely! Just go for it. I messed up too many things and I'm sure everyone does. We just don't put them on video 😂😂 happy crafting ❤️❤️
Umut Rados Thanks for the encouragement, Umut. I don't have many supplies yet but the Dylusions paints were the first things I've bought and I've tried some of them but the are still a couple that aren't even opened. Lol! You're right everyone messes up at the beginning, we just have to try and learn from our mistakes. I'm taking my paints out right now and just going for it! Thanks so much for the reply! I loved that you try to help everyone when you can, not many do. It just shows what a wonderful person you are, and you'll always have a viewer in me. Thanks!
Shira Payano thanks so much, I'm really flattered with this message 😊it's a pleasure to meet people like you as well through a common passion. Good luck and have fun with your new journey ❤️❤️
Thanks so much Julie! Happy you enjoyed them. Yes, I hope to have time to finish them one by one, we'll see :) So many ideas, so little time :) lots of love!
ALWAYS A PLESSURE TO WATCH YOUR NEW VIDEO...AMAZING JOB..BEAUTIFUL BACKGROUNDS..I LIKED THEM ALL BUT MORE...THE TWO DARK YOU MADE..THEY ARE VERY UNIK AND UNUSUAL....ALWAYS WAITING FOR YOUR NEXT VIDEO..YOUR FOLLOWER AND FRIEND FROM GREECE...XRISA
Umut, these are all lovely--I love them. I'm very impressed at how well you get your Dylusions paints to blend. I've been practicing, but I can't get them to come together nearly as smoothly as you do. All your pieces are very pretty!
Catie B hi Catie! Thanks so much. What comes to my mind is maybe they dry before you blend. Using baby wipe while you blend might help😊 thanks for watching ❤
Your technique is just like Dyan's. So many videos use way too much ink. I haven't made brown because I too am careful not to blend but layer. The colors r much more important with the sprays. Thank for doing such a great job!!
Beautiful backgrounds! And very informative and helpful for complete beginners like myself! Thank you so much Umut! I always look forward to your videos! Hugs :)
Hi! Thanks so much for doing this video... Although I found it a year after you posted it, the timing was perfect for me as I wanted something fun to play with today and was having a hard time deciding which art supplies to use! I so enjoyed seeing the various color combinations in action that I am certain I would not have tried... The vintage one with chopped pesto, pomegranate seed, and ground coffee ended up being my favorite which surprises me because I don't do green! LOL Thanks again and have a great day! :-)
Thanks so much Sue! I'm glad it found its way to you :) I learn so many color combinations from others too, it's always good to look around :) TFW! have a lovely weekend
Judy Morgan hi Judy, thanks a lot for watching! Sure, in my experience, uniball signo white gel pen, posca paint pens, fudoball pen, and stabilo all pencils write over paint. Hope this helps 😊
Kim Daniel hello, thanks a lot! No, I didn't gesso the pages this time. These were thick watercolor card stock, so didn't need gesso. If you use thinner, normal paper, could be good to gesso just to prepare the paper. Hope this helps 😊 tfw!
Lynn Morin thanks a lot! So, a lot of people asked and if you’d be so kind to go through comments, İ gave lots of links to other people. If you can’t find the ones you like, let me know specifically and I can try to look it up 😊
noa ofra thanks a lot! All different brands. I gave links to other comments when people asked, you can check those. If you can't find among them, I can help you. ❤
QESTION TOO:This is absolutely the best video to date on color blending and stenciling. Thanks so much. My question is: What stencil is used in the second card that looks like lines of beaded curtain? Love it.
Cecilia Sawyer thanks a lot Cecilia! I’m glad you liked it a lot ❤️ I assume you ask the little rectangular one. I sometimes cut stencils in my digital cutter with stencil sheet. I have silhouette portrait cutter. And I used one of the shapes in the design store to cut that stencil. I’m afraid it’s not a straightforward answer, but if you’re interested in the process or want to have a look at the file, please let me know by emailing me. Then I will explain in more detail. If you go to Contact, you can email. Thanks again!
thank you for this video. I have been struggling with my color mixing. I want to know about a couple of the stencils also. alphabet/number stencil, barbed wire, squares, lightening or zig zags (not sure what it is), line stencil, leaves, fleurish, and the hearts.
Thanks for watching! I will do my best with the stencils, as some of them are purchased some time ago and probably discontinued by companies. Barb wire is this: www.dustyattic.com.au/products.php?product=Barbwire-Stencil Squares was Crafter's Worshop. I couldn't find the same, but I found this one similar: www.amazon.com/Crafters-Workshop-Framing-Template-6-Inch/dp/B005NB4HQY/ref=sr_1_fkmr3_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1489745717&sr=8-3-fkmr3&keywords=alphabet+stencil+crafter%27s+workshop Line stencil, from what I guess is this, but let me know if I'm wrong. You can tell me the exact time on the video, if it's something else: www.dustyattic.com.au/products.php?product=Threaded-Beads-Stencil Leaves: www.amazon.com/Crafters-Workshop-Vineyard-Template-6-Inch/dp/B00MPXXFLQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489747336&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=crafter%27s+workshop+mini+vineyard Flourish and hearts: www.amazon.com/Carabelle-Studio-Stencil-6x29cm-Arabesques/dp/B016P10FE8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1489747385&sr=8-2&keywords=carabelle+studio+stencils www.amazon.com/Carabelle-MA60051-Stencil-Envol%C3%A9e-Soaring/dp/B01FZ4WOPE/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1489747385&sr=8-7&keywords=carabelle+studio+stencils Alphabet is dylusions but discontinued, she now has this one: www.amazon.com/RANGER-DRDYS55587-REAVELEY-DYLUSIONS-STENCILS/dp/B06X19FW13/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489745855&sr=8-1&keywords=old+school+alpha+stencil+dylusions I didn't get the lightening or zigzag:) If you write me the time on the video, it will be easier. Hope this helps :)
Rain Barber I'm afraid I did it myself in my digital cutter, just cut a little pattern. By the way I found the squares stencil. It's from Crafter's Workshop called doodle squares mask. Take care 😊
Cok tesekkurler! Evet akrilik boya, mixed media icin yapildigindan daha akici, tek farki bu. Ama herhangi bir akrilik boyayla da ayni sey yapilabilir. Sevgiler.
Really nice backgrounds!!! I would like to know what are the stencils you used: the square in background 1 and the cameras in background 4? Thank you very much for sharing :)
Marie-Pierre Taillon hello! They are both Crafter’s Workshop. I suggest to check their website or Amazon to see if they still have them :) thanks for watching! ❤️
Amber Asif dylusions paints are acrylic paints, so it dries permanent. You don’t need to seal them. Distess inks can be sealed with Matt medium or Distress micro glaze ( a cold wax). I have videos that I show it. But, I couldn’t find among so many :)
Wonderful video! I am new to art journaling, and you make it seem so simple :) this is a good thing. What type of paper are you using? Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Kelly Fragoso I’m so glad it made things easier for you :) you can choose from many options for paper. Thick cardstock, mixed media paper ot watercolor paper, all will work. To have suitable, quality paper, I’d recommend mixed media paper, Ranger has. Thanks for watching!
I know this is a old video but what paper do you use? I know when i do this technique sometimes & I use wet wipe that the paper I use becomes to wet & then it tears. How can you avoid this?
Ashley Monceaux hi Ashley. If you use watercolor paper or mixed media cardstock, you won’t have that problem. Ranger has both. Or any other brand will do. Hope this helps. Happy creating :)
You're very welcome! tfw. I think you're talking about this. But, let me know if any other. www.dustyattic.com.au/products.php?product=Threaded-Beads-Stencil
Umut Rados, thank you so much!!!! And how sweet of you, you even included a link. Thank you. I've watched this video two more times today! There are a few more stencils I love but I noticed you've answered other people's comments so I'll look before I bug you w more questions 😊. Love your videos and style xoxo
Caroline Dashchi you're very welcome! In one of the replies I put quite a few, so maybe you like one of them :) but, no worries if you want to ask more, don't hesitate. Happy to help if I can. Enjoy! ❤
its really amazing and awesome technique I really like it I just want to know that that paint you used is a acrylic colour or not can I use acrylic colour for this 😊🌼
