... the Oath of Vengeance Paladin’s Vow of Enmity. This Class Action is supposed to give you advantage on attack rolls on the target you cast it on, but if you instead cast it on yourself, then for the whole 10 turn duration, you have advantage on all of your attack rolls, which is absolutely amazing considering most paladins have the Great Weapon Master Feat and suffer a -5 penalty to their attack rolls in order to gain 10 damage. However, as good as this is, unfortunately Paladin’s only get 1 Channel Oath Charge per Short Rest, but you can increase that number by getting the Armor of Devotion sold by Roah Moonglow in Act 2 on the first floor of Moonrise Towers. The Armor of Devotion allows you to replenish your Channel Oath Charge once per long rest through an action called Eternal Devotion.
Next up are two AOE Spells that function much differently than others. These are AOE spells that deal damage when cast, when a creature enters their aoe, and at the start of the creature’s turn if they are in the AOE. This can effectively cause these spells to deal up to 3 times the amount of damage they would normally deal compared to other AOE spells. The two AOE spells that function like this are Moonbeam and Cloud of Daggers. As you can see, Cloud of daggers deals it’s damage when cast, and if it does at least half the targets HP on cast, then at the start of the target’s turn, they’ll likely instantly die. And what’s great about Cloud of Daggers on Warlocks is that they can use Eldritch Blast’s Repelling Blast to hit the target back into the cloud of daggers causing them to instantly take damage from it. This makes Cloud of Daggers an incredibly powerful AOE option. Moonbeam is the same way, but it has a much smaller radius so it’s harder to knock enemies back into it. However, you can recast Moonbeam each turn to essentially deal its damage again. Compare these two spells to something like Hunger of Hadar which only deals damage if a creature starts its turn in it, and it seems much weaker in terms of damage than other options like cloud of daggers.
Reduce All Damage by 75% Permanently
Next up is how to Reduce All Damage by 75% Permanently. This can be done through a strange interaction between Uncanny Dodge and Bear Heart Rage. Uncanny Dodge is a togglable passive gained by Rogues at Level 5 and allows the Rogue to reduce incoming damage by 50% once per round. However, there appears to be a bug causing this passive to activate an infinite number of times per round, instead of just once. This appears to be caused when you already have resistance to the type of incoming damage from Bear Heart Rage. Bear Heart Rage grants resistance to all damage other than Psychic. And with those resistances, we’re able to trigger Uncanny Dodge over and over repeatedly. Since you already have resistance you’re only taking 25% of the original damage. Add on something like Prime Aegis of Fire which reduces damage taken by 3 and you’ve got an extremely tough character. And even though Helldusk Armor is a Heavy Armor, what’s crazy about Bear Heart Rage is that it also appears to be unaffected by Rage Impeded - which should make your rage not grant these resistances, but as you can see, we have both Rage Impeded and all our resistances from Bear Heart Rage, making it the best type of Rage. And if all that wasn’t enough, you can also use Transfuse Health to heal allies, and Uncanny Dodge will kick in AGAIN, reducing that damage taken and still giving your ally the full heal.
Activate Permanent Freecasting
Next up is how to cast any spell for free an infinite number of times. There is an Illithid power called Freecast which lets you remove the resource costs for Spell Slots, Charges, and similar resource costs on your next cast - usable once per long rest. However, there is a way to refresh this Illithid Power other than Long Resting, in fact, you can reset it an infinite number of times.

Just a note about cloud of daggers and moonbeam: if you have other allies in the fight that aren’t companions it’s worth being EXTREMELY careful when placing the spell due to how much damage it can do in so many ways

These two spells are exceptional because, as opposed to most other big persistent AOE effects, it is not difficult terrain. The AI will just path through it and take damage, where they will avoid difficult terrain if they can. Makes them feel super consistent when placed correctly. Also, Cloud of Dagger not having any saving through is great. Mainstay spell in my current run.

Also be careful if you're playing with friends who are absolute nuggets when it comes to moving their characters around. "No, don't walk into the fire" "Don't just move away from enemies in melee range, you're giving them a free hit on you" "Watch out for my cloud of dag- yep you're down, let turn off the cloud before you die"

More importantly, be careful where your team is positioned at combat end. I can't tell you how many times I'm dropped out of turn-based and had someone run back to me straight through the still running cloud of daggers *pace-palm*.

Spike Growth + Hungar of Hadar. They can't jump or mystic step out of it, and have to walk over the spikes, whilst slowed down. Consider the large radius of the abilities. Initiate combat, retreat to a chokepoint, drop the abilities, voila! Even on honor mode this works well.

2:00 it may be more damage but HoH hungsr of hadar does amazing CC. Enemies cant move as much combine it with sleep storm or knock them back into it and it disables encounters

Completely different games and combat/design philosophy…don’t know why you’d even bring that up. And there’s quite a few environment interactions and spell combos in bg3 anyway

@@g0lddustt29 I mean they are almost identical games. The only difference is the layer of dice rolling that happens in dialogue/combat and "cool downs" on your abilities thru resting. If not for the DND coat of paint this might as well be dos3

I don't think anyone is complaining about that. what is being brought up is the fact that a lot of these are just bugs, and calling them "hidden spell interactions" makes it seem that such a thing is expected or intentional. you are free to use the bugs to powergame if you want, nobody is stopping you.

I have a good tip I don't see many (if at all) bring up. Not a spell interaction but if you use "Dash" 3 or 4 times BEFORE going into TBM you can easily get almost 50m movement in a single turn. I think I capped at 48m. Edit - thats with Longstrider but without monk movement. So w Monk you can go even further

right at the end you said duelists prerogative gives you an additional bonus action instead of reaction. I'm still struggling with reactions because you only get one it says but seems like sometimes you get more.

The tricky thing about reactions is that BG3 has things that are implemented using the reaction interface (because they're triggered by something else happening, potentially on someone else's turned) but don't use up your reaction resource, which sometimes might make it seem like you have more than one reaction in a round when you really don't.

The unarmed strikes while wielding a weapon thing is technically a bug but I think that’s how it should work so I’m gonna use it. Like if you have a free hand you should be able to make an unarmed strike. It’s silly that the game forces you to make a weapon strike when you aren’t even holding anything in your other hand.

You shouldn't even need a free hand to make an unarmed strike as long as you have legs. The description of unarmed attacks in tabletop D&D explicitly allows things like kicks and headbutts.

Thing is, Hunger of Hadar has other ways of being super nasty: usually pairing it with Create Water, Sleet Storm, Plant Growth, Spike Growth, Insect Plague, etc., since it doesn't count as a ground effect the way ice, spikes, vines, etc., do. I can think of at least 7 encounters starting late Act 1 that get completely cheesed by pairing Plant Growth and Hunger of Hadar together, and the really beautiful thing is Plant Growth has no concentration requirement, so one caster can have both to effectively reduce a normal move speed of 30ft down to 6ft, while blinding and dealing chip damage each turn. The usual rules of knockback work as advertised here, so you can make a thunderdome of fuggsh*t that can add up quick. ----- You also don't need Helldusk for the Bear Heart shenanigans, Adamantine Scalemail also has DR attached (though it's only -1 to all damage), so it's possible to take the 28 of a Fireball and reduce it to 6. That's Medium Armor, which means a BRB will get full benefits of Rage while getting DR without any seemingly odd interactions. ----- I want to point out that a lot of these seem like bugs, and Patch 6 is around the corner. Don't expect any of these to stick around for a while.

AFAIK freecast doesn't even work as described - it literally won't refresh if you long rest, only when you play strip poker. It's completely fucked, I cast 7 disintegrates in a turn.

I made one of the very earliest posts on Reddit about the Freecast thing as there was a bug where the ability basically wasn't working at all. (Emphasis on "one of." This is the internet, no way to tell if I was actually the first person to figure this out and post about it.) Regardless, it made my evening seeing a version of my half-joking post about free balling to get more free casts make its way across the internet and end up in a RU-vid video 🤣 If you didn't hear this from Reddit directly or indirectly just ignore me. I can't be the only person to have made that joke on Reddit or elsewhere on the internet, so could just be a coincidence. Either way, great video, thank you!

Kinda odd he's only liking comments that are heaping on praise, and not also giving attention to those offering valid critiques, like how some of these are exploits, not tips. One shouldn't just respond to positive attention, that never bodes well.

These need not to be patched. Technically this is an online game, but its single player mode. Therefore needs no patch on any of these. Hear that devs! If you put a pvp arena in the game then dont patch these pls. Thx.
