Thank you for the demo. The Soto would definitely come in handy for popping bubbles in acrylic and resin work. I was thinking of buying a butane electric lighter, but the Soto looks like it would do the job just as well and for less $$$.

Get better flavor? Butane is odorless and does not change the taste. These cheap lighters do not use butane.

Hi Taras, the first torch that you demonstrated contains a refillable lighter, minus the self-ignition components. You can indeed place a regular lighter into this torch with its ignition components intact and use it. Source: I've owned two of these.

You should try the torch gadgets when you have "trimmed" the lighters to increase the flow. Take off the metal cap and set it to max, lift the adjuster upp and back to minimum and to max, until you get as much flow you want. would be cool to see how well they work on better gasflow

The last one is actually a hemp wick. It's used mostly by cannabis smokers to light their joins/bowls. It gives you better flavor than using butane from the lighter. But of course it can be used in a few different ways, to reach tight spots for example as its pretty sturdy.

i have one of the lighter leashes and with a regular size bic it will NOT fall out! i gang mine from my apron so it's not in any kind of pocket and i have never lost a lighter, they fit so snugly into the "glove" part that when you take the lighter out to change it you hear a very satisfying "pop" sound! highly recommend, i got mine at the local gas station for $1.99

I have another great lighter. It's called Turboflame. There's two versions. One has a single flame and the other has two flames. Apparently, the single flame version is standard issue to the British Army (so I read). They're both supposed to work in extremely cold conditions or in extreme winds.

not sure if anybody mentioned this and im too lazy to scroll down, but the 'drum' striker can always be removed from those cheap lighters. it will still release its content without it, your just missing a sriker at that point. so the first one should be viable for normal cheap lighters so long as you remove the striker.

The pocket torches are good for heat shrink sleeving, I had one like that, but you might as well just buy a windproof lighter from a head shop. Same kinda flame and costs less so that's what I use for that now. Also Clipper lighter > bic lighter...
