I've started a survival play through and found a random legendary double barrel shot gun with exploding rounds and by god it's a great help. Exploding rounds are so good at any level.
You can reduce the prize of the overseers guardian significantly if you boost your charisma with alcohol, clothes , meds, including mentats that give better trading prizes and the level 1 charisma perk that give you better prizes with vendors. I had boosted my charisma to around 12-13 CHA for getting into the vault and got the weapon for around 1500 caps.
Meet Dog and get the Cryolator! It's a heavy weapon early and is easy to upgrade. Once I figured out Heavy gunner made it do more damage that was it. You can get a Fatman at the Robotics disposal Ground and a minigun at Olivia. Though Heavy build is a bit tough to do.
@@HeadHunterSix the original comment is just pointing out that it's obviously a new video, because of the way RU-vid restrictions work now. If you show the gore you'll probably get demonetized or in trouble.
Stuff missed here - 1. Rockville slugger (Dcity market) - reduced AP cost means that this thing can just keep on smacking. 2. Old Faithful (DCity market) - amazing sniping weapon for early game with double damage at full. 3. Generic .308 pipe with suppressor - the earliest silenced gun available (Drumlin Diner purchase). Suppressors aren’t as magical here as they are in FONV, but they’re still good. 4. Kremvh’s Tooth - since it’s an attachment not a unique weapon you can put it on another machete (e.g. one run I had a random one with the -40% AP). Dunwich Borers. 5. Justice, shotgun with stagger, bought in Covenant. If nothing else an early combat shotgun but the stagger is nice.
In case you came here looking for actually the best weapons in the game, not these decent weapons. Grab yourself the SplatterCannon from the vendors at Nuka world. Literally the best gun in the game
When at the beginning of the video talking about how to get fusion cores, you mention the location of three of them, at least one requiring a significant fight for what might be a level one character. However you missed that simply by heading due east from the north edge of the Sanctuarry lake, you can get to the Robotics Disposal Ground, with no fighting whatsoever. There, in addition to picking up a fatman and a mini nuke, you can acquire all three fusion cores, one from a loot chest and two from causing the sentry bot to self destruct! Not that the fusion cores are necessary through. If you show up to Vault 81 wearing your vault suit and pip boy and save just before interacting with the vault door, you have the opportunity to pass a speech check to get inside without paying anything at all, simply because they are willing to help a fellow vault dweller.
Deliverer and tinkers tom special with the right build is absolutely broken a high vats/stealth build called the build that broke fallout is rather fun on survival you can also add in overseers guardian and pickmans blade if you have either the extra carry weight or arent playing on survival
Don’t bother with the alien blaster there a legendary one in a side nukaworld quest that gives crit damage and more percentage way better than a regular one….
because its luck based. just quick-save before talking or if you're on Survival, try to sleep outside the vault to create a save you can load close by. pop all your drugs and food that boosts charisma and possibly luck, and just keep doing the speech check until they let you in
For the OG rifle, pop some grape mentats before entering Vault 81, and get some clothes with Charisma mods. It will make it easier to get into Vault 81 without sacrificing precious fusion cores, and will lower the price of the item. All easily accomplished at a very early level. Thanks for the informative video! Lots of nice toys and I only have a few of them so far.
@@johnleader4526 Grape mentats are rare? 😅 You can make them at a chem station with 2 hubflowers, a bottle of whiskey and regular mentats (which aren't rare but also not too hard to make, either). Also, those fusion cores aren't going to lower the cost of the gun, but the grape mentats will help with getting in and with getting a lower price too. When you find a way to manufacture fusion cores out of easily available materials without mods, we can continue this conversation. Meanwhile, check out the video of the guy who bought the OG in less than 30 minutes out of the Vault, without any mods or exploits.
A better option is to wait until the overseer says “ so about those fusion cores “ then move the camera around until u can’t see the dialogue. After you u get of dialogue drop all ur fusion cores on the floor then look back towards her and click the option “of course”. For some reason the ai thinks she got 3 fusion cores. But all of them are in the ground and u can pick them all up after she lets u in
@@Jay-yn7if you can do the same with the cure during Curie’s quest to save Austin and keep cure for yourself didn’t think to try it with other stuff, smart man
Standard combat shotgun can be modded and with perks will do 200+ damage per shot, let alone if you then find a special one with effects. If you're playing on survival where ammo has weight, combat shotgun becomes the best weapon out there for damage per shot and shells aren't hard to find/buy
I usually get the guns you mentioned, but also put the Spray n Pray up, because it kills everything and makes the game to easy. However ,it does have the draw back of killing the shooter if your enemy is to close. The explosion effects you to at close range. The Reba is nice, but the Tinker Tom Special is great and easier to get and if you aren't a professional Mikelurk hunter, it's just as good.
He mentions Spray n Pray in the video. Spray n Pray is only good if you have ammo to burn for it, which isn't as easy in survival where ammo has weight. The power of the weapon is overwhelming the enemy in a barrage rather than each individual shot being powerful. I find variants of combat shotguns to be absolutely OP!!! Just modding a combat shotgun makes it great but finding one with an effect on it makes the game a breeze...particularly with chems!!! I find damage per shot combined with how many shots to be the most effective. You can get 200+ damage with one shot from an optimised combat shotgun, without any special effects, and highest health enemy is around 2000? You'd need roughly around 4 shots from Spray n Pray to equal that
Also it should be noted that incase you don't have the 2000 caps for the overseer's guardian (or anything, really), you can just trade weapons and armor to the vendor and not worry about the vendor cap limit. Seems so obvious in retrospect, but I just did this 2 days ago lol
@@bobthetitan4128 something i just started in my new game was i'd carry a bunch of jet (very easy to make) and trade those (25 caps each) for items. It's just way easy than selling the jet and THEN refreshing for enough caps through rinse and repeat. I hope this makes sense! I treat unwanted items as caps.
i’m surprised grognaks axe isn’t on this list, there’s a comic book store in boston (near swan pond) that has a bunch of bugs in it, kill em, in the back office area Grognaks Axe is in a case next to some skill magazines. super easy early game snag! if anybody is reading this that didn’t know, happy to help 🤙
You only need one: either explosive combat rifle, or the explosive 10mm pistol. Both shreds anything with an automatic receiver modification, and ammo is plenty
I love the 10mm that shoots an extra projectile - same effect as overseer's guardian. And it uses so little action points, you can hit enemies many times over in vats. But I recently found a institute rifle with an added effect that does more damage (forgot the name of the effect) - fully modded it's pretty nice.
I've recently came back to FO4 and I was SHOCKED to see what spray n pray does, even without perks to boost its dmg. That weapon given how early you can get it and the cheap ammo is by far the best in the game imo
I think Grognak's Axe is a FAR easier get for early-game melee legendary than the power fist. And roughly in the same area. Also, there's a bat sold by a vendor in (can't remember name - the town where you run in to Piper) that's REALLY good if a bit expensive early on (but I usually get Piper first anyway since her companion trait you get that gives extra XP for new locations - better off the sooner you can get it)
Pretty much any pistol with the Kneecapper prefix makes the game super easy, even on Very Hard. Turn the pistol to automatic, leave it on cheap and plentiful ammo, and you can go crazy.
the newer weapons from the new update are phenomenal and fun to play with especially the nail gun, saw blade thrower, grenade launcher and heavy incinerator, makes starting the game out a little more fun and easier
@@donaldb4142 and if your playing on pc and know how tu use the console command system adding furious legendary perk on it makes it even more fun and deadly
So, why do people pick the hardest level of play in a game, and then cheat (get inside information) on how to win. I'm not a psychologist, but it probably has to do with a person feeding their over-inflated ego. Struggling and still losing teaches one much more about how our culture operates than getting an unfair advantage or taking the easy way out.
