SriLankan's have this problem, thinking that having a mega project is considered as development. any way not denying completely. but right now, country is struggling to feed its people, SriLankan must encourage the domestic productions, services and eliminate the corruptions. Think from where the money will come to invest on these mega projects, the only way is debt. Already our debts are bigger than countries GDP, our leader's are showing these projects to take more debt and fill their pockets. Educate yourself, unless we increase our domestic production and service and become self-sustainable, we won't come out of this poison cycle.

What we dont have is India or Bangladesh type of poverty, but we DO have silent starvers spread accross the country who bearly eat 2 meals a day with no protiens for weeks due to unmanageable cost of essentials. Like I said you are very fortunate not to have met them.

@@fazeemf What I meant was that only less than 10 percent of the SL population is facing starvation. Not poverty. I know this because my team has conducted research about differences among a group of people's economic states. More than 40 percent face the international level of poverty, and more than 60 percent face the common level of being poor. It's sad.

@antoniohere7065 I hope you're sri lankan in the first place. BIA is the term used for the International Fully Pledged Airport in Colombo. Colombo International Airport proper which used to be the one is in Ratmalana. Currently its used mainly for Military International Services because it didn't get upgraded any recently.

At the moment Sri Lanka's external and internal debts are more than 70 Billion dollars. More than 5 Million people of 22 Million, have been fallen in to poverty level. More than 500000 of Micro Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs have closed their business and been bankrupted. Around 800k people of young generation have been migrated due to economic crisis. Sri Lanka has to pay 4 Billion dollars in this year ( 2024 ) and the foreign assets are around just 7 Billion dollars( includes ceased 1.5 Billion dollar by China ). Around more than 3 Million people are in the CRIB And i don't knows what the hell superpower is this guy talking about..? 🤨

We have been taken at upfront this type of propaganda or Disney world tours in parks by politicians .What we have experienced unrealized dreams and ever increasing poverty where people are angry at government for what this politicians have put them in.
