A sensible preflop raise from the cutoff position is a great way to buy that abusable button for the rest of the hand…it’s very dependent on the type of player on your left elbow
“Stop and Go” (Strategy #2) is one that I’ve been employing a lot more recently in my ignition games. Contrary to what Nathan says, I find it works against the fish in those games as well… they love to lead river with all sorts of nonsense bluffs. 😅
This is one of my favorite strategies. I've been using it for decades. I can't tell you how many times I have stacked opponents who are overly aggressive and bluff off their entire stack after the turn check.

I love these videos; they are a constant reminder that I have so much to learn 🙂 I will be trying to incorporate some of these tips into my game. Fortunately, I only play poker on a free site, so I'm not going to lose any real money 🙂
The problem with that is, from my experience, free poker players play way different than 0.10/0.25 players, and those players play different than .50/1.00, and they play way different than 5/10. I play free on pokerstars but I find the gameplay strategy just isn't transferable.
One pattern I've recognized, that flows well with Nathan's "aggressive poker is winning poker", so many players won't fold even to a substantial bet on the flop, but will fold on a similar bet on the turn. If they call on the turn (or god forbid, raise) then I may take foot off pedal...
Regarding a continuation C beta...if I am betting only 50% on the flop and someone has a draw, doesn't that give them the mathematical odds to call, since as you mentioned if you don't want them to chase, we need to bet 75% or more to make calling a losing proposition in the long term. Then if you bet 50% allowing them to chase their draw and they don't hit, but now you just check the turn, allowing them to get to the river for free, then wouldn't that C bet on the flop be a losing proposition long term? And lastly if you bet the turn with 75% of the pot and they have a small pair and they put you on a AK blank flop and turn and call you, then what do you do on the river if they check their small pair? And lastly, if you have 50 blind stack vs a 100 blind stack would your C bets, and turn, and river bet strategy be different based on your stack sizes and player types?

I lose yesterday pre flop. 2 guys went all in in a tournament I had pocket J’s… I called both all in’s. They had pocket A’s and pocket K’s the K hit a k on the flop. Left me with 28k and the BB was 10k… definitely learned my lesson
I have folded nice hands against aggressive players. Sometimes I would have hit the " nuts" on hands I don't play. It is rare though. That is a great time to show your hand, make other players think you are stupid and challenge them. When I am on a winning streak, I also show my hand. Many low hands seeing you on a running streak, get serious, and realize " bluffing" doesn't work. I have seen whole tables get serious. Bluffing is rare on serious tables. Bluffers are applauded for good plays when they only do it occasionally.
For one particular online app...this is all BS....I've had AA on the button, re raising a raise, into all in, easy snap call, down to heads up..button and big blind..they have j8 off....and what do you know...they hit 2 pair on the flop, turn quads. Who calls w J8 off? I feel like I was definitely bamboozled that particular time..player even called me a fish before he called like he knew
You speak sense mate. At 9) if people think having 18% chance to win with JJ its a good ideea, should understand that is 1 card out of 5 to get a J. Thats pure luck. A 50% is 1 card out of 2. Or worst, many people after seeing the flop, they go for the one card they need for straith. You have about 15% to get that card. It means 1 out of 6-7 cards. And this only if no other player has your card! Thats russian rulette. Players should go for hands where they have many combinations of outs to win. For example, going for top pair and the same time for straith or flush etc., and when all this combined outs gives you a 40 or 50% to win the pot, thats when you should go for it!
Ok so the first example. A tight player opens, and another tight player re-raises. Why call if they are so tight you’re crushed?! That even encourages the 4bet squeeze. If you don’t like the spot then fold, calling is horrible given that logic and set mining is dubious at best considering the risk of the 4bet.
It all depends on the stack sizes. Your job is to set mine with at least a 15-1 effective stack . Gauging if it might get RR again is part of your job. Hope this helps ; and don’t be an “ABC” player

If your already In the money you can risk it to get the big brisket, plus they don’t want to ass out in the end of the tournament so they will be more careful

Dont Fold KK 2nd Best Hand because they will have A A in 4% of 9 players max and 3% of 6 players max raised K K I dont understand any more 8. Only All in with AA , KK , QQ , and AK with preflop 9. Loose aggresive vs tight aggressive A loose-aggressive player plays exactly the same as a tight-aggressive player except they open raise more hands preflop Call on loose aggresive 10.

One comment I would like to make is: it is not uncommon that in a game "session" there might be 40 or 50 or more hands. The elucidated strategies will invariably work the majority of hands. However, timing is unpredictable and a how percentage bad beat at the wrong time ( like the last hand) can negate numerous hands played well.
2:00 I think this is bad advice. You have JJ, then someone 3bets and someone else 4bets? In this case you're almost always behind. You do not want to call here, you want to fold.
You are wrong about not folding KK preflop. When it's obvious a ABC player bets what someone with Aces would bet, that is $150 in 1/3 and $300 in 2/5, your $50 raise with KK, you should fold!!! Also your trashy hands on the button, you should NOT raise with that crap against LAGs with a big stack. LAGs with a big stack can still play OOP and outbet you, committing your entire stack by the turn or river on every hand!!!
Ak, kk, qq and jj would play the exact same way. But when you have kk in that spot, the total combinations of hands that you beat are higher than the combination of aa that have you dominated. And as said in the video, you still have 20% equity even if you are up against aa. So yes, you should always play kk in a spot like this. And if you play "trash" hands from the button and a lag raises you when you have no equity in the hand, just fold. It didnt work that time, to bad. Fold and move on with your life. But as long as it works more times than it doesnt, you are making money in the long run. And that is all that matters.
It is not plus ev to ever fold KK preflop against 1 player. Against 2 or more players, depending on position and action you may have a case for a fold preflop. But you must consider that the most common randomly generated 5 card hand will be playing a pair, and most randomly generated hands are playing a high card, you’re essentially folding the second nuts lmao. I know people who can’t fold the second nuts on the RIVER!!!
@QuantumMech127 I have folded many great hands against an aggressive player or players. I especially fold when I am getting close to winning money. I don't think I would fold KK preflop. I would probably check or call. Then, if I got a trip Kk then I'd maybe go all in or beat a high bet to discourage other players to drop out. Like Nathan says your position is important! I fold many good hands in middle positions! When aggressive players are a head of me. I will only call or check not raise. However I playwith coins, not cash. So that might make a difference!
