broo this series is SOOO slept on and underrated. some people are like "you watch kids shows?? pfft" scooby doo mystery inc has such a good plotline and character development, to the point its not repitive or boring ive watched each episode around 20 times
@@lordskeletor4558 I could see why you would think that, but I disagree considering how the franchise is rather old and future ideas are kind of risky, especially considering longtime fans, many of who are nostalgia purists. Though I think Scooby-Doo was easier to pull off thanks to Mystery Incorporated keeping the usual formula albeit darker and serious. The thing that made The Looney Tunes Show unique was the sitcom.
@Crimson Xero Oh no I was trying hide anything, it was just a minor mistake. Also of course not, your not an idiot not worries. I also wouldnt have said that because I can see you asked what I might dislike about it. Ill answer though. The only things I dislike(d) were Velma's attitude(sometimes at least), the Shaggy/Velma thing(a little bit, not that much), the finale kind of.
I really don't get why people dislike the more serious take on scooby doo. One of the reasons I loved zombie island was that it was dark yet still felt like a scooby doo movie. Same with mystery incorporated.
Seriously, every time he was onscreen I literally said aloud "Patrick Warburton: national treasure." And then immediately said "traey-zhur" the way Fred does.
@@scottchaison1001 yeah but his death was really off screen. I really though he was not dead and instead just got captured. Plus, we never really knew that much about which made it less sad than the other 2 deaths.
I applied to write season 2. Scooby is coming. She's a freaky 23 yr old in a fur suit who has a degredation fetish and a speech impediment. Rim ry rass, raggy! Right rere rin rublic! They turned me down. 😔 Said there was too much merit and humor in the idea.
I loved Velma’s development in this show. She went from kind of an asshole who had an ego far too big, became a humble, loyal friend who accepted that it was okay to ask for help.
Joe Mama Hm, Interesting I Mean The Only Ones That Scared Me Were Many Of The zones From Where Are You, Though The Leader Of Scaring Me Was Captain Cutler, Heck He Still Does(Ever So Slightly). I Also Found The Fright Hound Awesome.
i'm surprised nobody is talking about the music in this show. I found all of the instrumentals to be amazing and really helped sell the mystery aspect and creepy vibes. Also Mr. E's keyboard guitar song is awesome.
When hotdog water was shot i was shocked to hear that they actually killed her in such way... I thought that was the first death and i was so shock as a kid
I just realized that when Ellison tells Mystery Inc that the timeline has been reset before, it was a reference to the other Scooby-Doo series occurring in other timelines.
What he is saying is that the ending of mystering incorporated is the beginning of Scooby-Doo where are u bc if u think about it incorporated there in high-school in where are u they are in college and always on the road
@@_baaaby1bandos802 I understand that. The laugh track is meant to imply the gang goes onto to solve mysteries in the original show. However, Ellison mentions that the timeline reset has happened several times before, with this instance being the first time that Mystery, Inc remembers the previous timeline.
@sidney black you’re right, in that episode Daphne thought she was with Fred and not Shaggy, and everyone hated the idea and didn’t even tell them what had happened.
This is my absolute favorite Scooby-Doo incarnation. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite shows in general. It’s just so well-done, and it did the all the things I really wanted to see in the other series: gave the show a serial format with an ongoing story arc, actually gave the gang backstories, fleshed out everyone’s characters, and took a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the humor. I love how self-aware and intelligent the series is. They didn’t try to appeal just to children. And I might be in the minority here, but I even love the art style. It pays homage to the original animation, while also putting its own fresh, somewhat edgy spin on it. I really can’t say enough good things about this series. It’s a love letter to all the lifelong Scooby-Doo fans, like myself and countless others.
lightning born I finished watching the show back in 9th grade and I promised myself I'd rewatch the whole show one day again when I eventually forget the plot. I planned that I would eventually watch it next year in sophomore or junior year summer, but I kept on holding it back. Several days back my friend was showing me something on Netflix, and as he was scrolling through and I saw that Mystery Incorporated was Netflix. Now I just finished the show while I'm back home on winter break during my freshman year of college, and I still love it like I used to.
mystery incorporated is the best series because right from the first episode, it starts off a bigger mystery than the normal monsters. the locket is what hooks everyone because people want to know who they are and who mr. e is
@@douglaso_o276 totally, plus it gave us a satisfying ending. plus it actually has their parents restricting them from solving mysteries and is more real life related with how they balance school and all that crap
Casey Kasem passes the torch of being the voice of Shaggy Rogers to Matthew Lillard while playing as Colton Rogers became heartwarming when his final lines in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated where telling Shaggy Rogers how proud he is of him before he would pass away shortly after in real life.
Man, rewatching Mystery Inc when I got older really opened to my eyes to so many things I missed when it was on air. The overarching plot is brilliant, the characters have depth and grow immensely throughout the series, the “mature” themes are accurate to real life, and the music and animation is sublime.
You hit it spot on. I Watched this series long ago, and currently am rewatching it. I can't begin to describe the shear amount of things I missed when I was younger.
4:55 Actually, the original voice actor for shaggy was a vegetarian, and every version of him has been ever since the original show. In fact, in most versions, scooby eats any meat on shaggy's plate, so he is never seen eating meat even when he picked it up like in the witch's ghost.
KILLOMETER !!!!! I'm so sad that he's gone Shaggy has always been my number one favorite character in the whole Scooby Doo franchise and Matthew Lillard was the best Shaggy *𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍* and Casey Kasem too but I wish Matthew stayed as Shaggy for the whole Scooby Doo franchise unfortunately that was just not meant to be R.I.P Casey Kasem gone but not forgotten
Marcie (AKA Hotdog Water) was one of my favorite characters, I loved how she was just a bullied background character to a supporting character at the end. I loved her, and when she was gunned down I was legit heartbroken.
I mean, she died an epic death. Would you rather have a small death, like natural causes or something of that sort, or would you die fighting an evil nazi robot controlled by an evil mastermind? Great way to go imo
One of the biggest revelations in the series even suggested that the group was part of a much older tradition than they realized. In fact, there was a previous Mystery Incorporated team, who quietly showcased the worst-case fate for Scooby-Doo, Shaggy Rogers, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley if they grew apart and became the same kind of people the gang usually tries to bring down.
Thankfully, the Horrible Herd was crossed with the DNA of the freshwater piranha fish, so even though they escaped, they wouldn't have gone very far in the saltwater ocean.
@@blobfishmusic6020 Should I tell him about how salt has next to no effect on the other 2 species in those, therefor the salt-water would be a meh problem? in fact, salt actually helps cows, so that would even that out
@@HappyMatt12345 I doubt cows can BREATH seawater. Ingesting salt is different than filtering it through your lungs or possibly gills in this case. Too much salt can easily kill most animals, especially mammals like cows and humans.
Fun fact: crystal cove is a REAL place! It was founded by Spanish “conquistadors” which may have been a part of the inspiration, and the planispheric disc was probably real too, used as a way to chart locations. Also side note, who else loves that throughout the whole series from start to finish had crystal doorknobs on every door?
Watching this series, I was actually reminded a lot of Gravity Falls: . A group of juveniles who regularly solve mysteries/hunt monsters . A big mystery element . Mature themes . Good animation . Humor that appeals to adults/fourth wall breaking . The ending of the show is the literal apocolypse
Except there was -No real big mistery -No mature themes/ maturity except for Velma wanting to shag Shaggy, which is NOT an actual theme, just unnecessary sexualisation. -Average to mediocre animation and consistency in models -Humor that appeals to no one -Well congrats on ripping off better shows for an ending which was then immediately retconned.
Mystery Incorporated brought long-form storytelling to the Scooby-Doo franchise and added a grand conspiracy to the team, as well as delving into Mystery Incorporated history. The series was a combination of old and new, with an updated animation style, high-tech mysteries and old-fashioned monsters.
I like Scooby doo: Mystery Incorporated because they added some humor and they made it so that the gang is interest in what the treasure is, instead of having to worry about people in masks
The animation quality was vastly improved, giving the show a unique feel all its own. The biggest achievement is how Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated focused on overarching stories rather than just episodic plots.
Yes, Casey Kasem insisted that Shaggy had to be a vegetarian. When he stopped voicing the role, writers dropped that idea entirely, because it honestly does not suit the character at all. Shaggy is a walking stomach who will eat anything. I think the writers even poked fun at this by having Shaggy get grossed out by vegan burgers.
The end was crazy never saw it coming. I loved how realistic and still a fantasy the show was. Gave me so many chills but I was so excited I wish there were more shows like this one. Hopefully they can make another one like this.
@@auntiespancakes2528 Ed Machine: Get out of my house! Professor Pericles: Haha! Dear, Ed! [Whispers] But I want to say... anything! @@Kristal-Gamer Oh yeah I'm in America, that really sucks. Idk its probably on one of those online sights like kisscartoon or something if you wanna try that.
My sister and I really loved this Scooby-Doo series! I remember when the show first aired I would not miss a single episode. I also never put two and two together, the alias name: Mr. E sounds like 'mystery'
Honestly, this was the best rendition of Scooby-Doo I've seen to date. It took the characters we've known and loved for years and gave them such depth. It also did such a good job at giving us new characters to love; Angel Dynamite. It did a great job at being fresh, current and self-aware. Noticeable even in side characters, updating the hex girls and then bringing them back in season 2 in their original outfits at the request of their fans (both within the realm of the show as well as real life Scooby fans). This show just got so many things right and fearlessly dared to try new things. I'm dying to see this world again, or at least an equally as dark and character-driven story for the scooby franchise.
Can I just say Velma was my favorite character in this series. She was so sarcastic and like sassy but also nerdy. I really liked her character and development. Also my favorite side character is a three way tie between mayor nettles Cassidy Williams and hot dog water. I like all three of them about equally.
I watched plenty of the show back when it aired. Obviously at the time, I didn't watch all of it because Cartoon Network was kind of not caring about and I had Middle School to deal with in my personal life.
I really want another show similar to this series in the way of the animation and the dark story along with actually getting connected to the developing characters,I hope more people start making videos about mystery Inc and popularize it so we can get something like this,I remember being so excited for every new episode to come on Netflix, such a great series
@@moondoria8401 I've noticed this as well. Mystery Incorporated was less known and they seemed to have taken advantage of that by creating a show with a similar structure.
Th.El.Co._1 Yeah look at the parallels. Both shows have 2 seasons with the main mystery/villain appearing half way through, with the first seasons ending with taking down a villain that appears to be the main villain but isn’t. Strange
I think this series was the best personally because it had a interesting storyline and ever time there is a cliffhanger related to mystery of crystal cove I really wanna know more making me watch the next episode.
It's funny how our favorite cartoon characters never age. When I was a little kid, mystery inc always made me look forward to my teenage years, now I'm 18 going on 19 thinking damn, even when I'm in my 20s 30s 40s etc... Mystery Inc will forever be in their late teens. The group I once looked up to, I will soon be looking down upon, and damn it do i envy their eternal youth lol
I have a slightly different example. Jim Cummings passed on the Darkwing Duck torch to Chris Diamontopoulos when they played respectively, an egotistical original has-been actor and an inspired succeeding new-coming actor.
One thing I like about this series is the monsters ( despite them still just being humans in costumes ) but they make them so real like. Each monster has there own ability, and because of this it’s a lot harder to figure out who is behind the mask. And there designs are just so fricking awesome.
Would’ve been cool if you mentioned how crybaby clown was voiced by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and the guy under the mask was played by Anakins actor in the clone wars
One of the most recognizable roles for Matthew Lillard is Shaggy Rogers from Scooby-Doo, as he has portrayed the live action version and contributed his voice to the animated franchise.
One of my favorite fun facts is cause he liked the role of Shaggy that much lol like idk its just nice when actors do a role they didnt think they would and end up adoring it. Honestly the entire live action scooby doo was ahead of its time cause it was rated poorly on release but now (after hella live actions) people realize how good it was.
Mystery Inc. also is connected to the live action movies They mention scrappy doo In the museum u could see the ghost they caught in the beginning of one of the movies
@@TECfan1smhh they're not stating that Scrappy Doo first appeared in the live actions, they're stating that the show is connected to the live actions movies because Scrappy Doo was the villain and u can see his stature, and you can see the statue of the white ghost that is caught in the beginning of the movie.
It's unrelated, rather everything shown in the museum are references, Scrappy being a joking nod to the movie. Yes, the "daughter" of the Creeper episode showed that they did encounter previous "ghosts" yet this is a complete remake of the series with no connection to anything previously.
One thing I have come to appreciate lately about mystery incorporated is that it actually scared the f**k outta me. I was shaking almost every episode. Perfection.
At first I was thinking, “Huh. Mystery Inc. I don’t remember that one...” Then the intro played and all those memories were rekindled. That show was damn good.
I love this series! The writing kept me on board and personally I loved this Daria-esqe Velma! Also her character design was hot! Gotta love this tombstone stomping, hex girl loving, sluth!
I finally found another mystery incorporated fan. I’m a cartoon fanatic and this is my favorite cartoon. I also love scooby doo and all things Hannah barbera
Yes! I loved this show as a kid (I watched the live action movies and the original show, none of the other spin-offs) and absolutely adored this iteration.
Additionally while more the result of Kasem's passing, his final moment is a pretty fitting one as his character Colton Rogers speaks favorably of his son, thus kind of passing the torch to Lillard.
Mystery Incorporated is magnificent! I'm happy someone finally analysed the best Scooby Doo series ever. Hopefully there'll be a another dark Scooby Series in the near future.
Its so weird seeing everyones reaction to to Mystery Incorporated in this day and age. I remember back in 2013 when it aired its first season, I loved it but there were a lot (not all) of people that didnt like it since it didnt focus on the mystery of the monsters as their previous titles did, especially the plotline, and people did not like the characterization of Velma, since she was more sassy in this version. I am so glad its gotten its recognition and is well loved, I really thought I was the only one.
Let's go make it dark and edgy reimagining of Scooby-Doo, makes more sense than a dark and edgy a reimagining of Archie comics. If only Riverdale became an Archie comics based romantic comedy and not what it is now.
My favorite characters in Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated are 1. Sheriff (He's the guy who makes me laugh, whenever the Scooby-Doo gang keep saving the Crystal Cove town, plus he's also serious at times) 2. Shaggy (He's always had character development and I've always loved him, he's just the type of guy I could see myself hanging out with 'cause he's so chill and relaxed. Despite him always being so scared and frightened all the time)
@@witheredbonnie9268 It did i was basically saying they made the plots more kid friendly because zombie island scared some kids like me also cool name and profile pic
@@kayhaven4710 I think the people making it had already planned on it being only 2 seasons but I also saw something saying it had been cancelled or sum
druncle billy i was in the fifth grade when this show was airing. If I recall correctly, they initially cancelled the show after season 2 ep 15, which ended on a massive cliff hanger. I had forgot ab the show, then I checked back prolly half a yr later, and they had started airing new episodes. So idk what really happened
I love shows with mature themes and i think this is why this show is one of my favorites alongside Regular Show and Gravity Falls. Definitely need to rewatch it
God I finished this series a few weeks ago... And it is easily my favorite Scooby Doo show. But my favorite Scooby theme goes to what's new Scooby doo, I loved mystery Inc, the fact that it's story is much deeper than a gang of mystery solvers unmasking criminals, with no real meaning other than entertainment, the other scooby shows never really had a story.. that's one of the reasons I love mystery inc. They also took away some of the running jokes from the original shows, like in the first Scooby Doo show(aka Scooby Doo where are you), Velma would lose her glasses in like, every episode, and In mystery Inc, I think I recall ONE TIME in the whole series where she loses her glasses. and the scrappy Doo repherence gets me every time And good news, as of me writing this, Scooby mystery Inc is on netflix
One of my favorite parts of the series is the more adult humor hidden within the series, ex. when Fred gets caught with a trap magazine with a suggestive girl on the cover
Another thing that sets Mystery Incorporated apart from the previous Scooby-Doo series is its more serious tone. The show explores some darker concepts and even some relationship drama between the characters. These elements set Mystery Incorporated apart from the rest and are why it is so fondly remembered by the fans.
I hadn't ever seen or cared about Scooby-Doo before Mystery Incorporated. The fact that I had such disinterest in it before and it still manage to intrigue and compel me just make it sure that this show is amazing
Scooby Doo MI is a text book series of how to blend episodic show with overarching plot without actually destroying one or the other. The gang still do their own thing but at the same time they are solving something even bigger than a dude under a mask.
THEY MADE IT REALISTIC! And the others just oh they solve a mystery then its the end of the show had a plot all of the things added to something and they showed there TRUE character they made it the unoriginal u can tell because when daphine was in the others they just made her be hot and act dumb ! I always re watch
Uh there were multiple time where they didn't make her dumb in what's new scooby doo she had many moments of helping such as the racing episode where she help fix the car.
I didnt really care for the art style but it was a great series. I wish they went even further with it and gave it proper promo. The movies with the same art style and synopsis were amazing too! They were more mature and thought out.
