The issue I see here is that YOU are not consistent (note, he entered immediately when the other person called him in), and that you have made several 'errors' with regard to the breed's character. He sees you as just another toy, and you are teaching him that HE can dominate you physically, which may backfire on you. You should be the one to instigate play, set its parameters and decide when it ends. And he is destructive because he is being left alone and is bored!
The history of your dog is like Akita. He got away from an owner who would no longer claim him. I think people sit around watching stuff like the film "Hatchiko" and say, "I want one." without doing any real research. We love our Akita and can't believe the original owner didn't want him back.
Inverted spike collars only are for training not the dog park. Pulling on it while your dog is in aggressive mode only heightens his aggression not suppress it.
Hes a beautiful looking boy and everything he does is the same as my female when you tried to bring him back inside and his little jump back like a game my girl does exactly the same, oh they are so stubborn and independent
David, I love your dog, Maui he's sooo sweet to you and your family. I feel that there is Kona's spirit inside of Maui, cuz how else would Maui wandered into your property after your sweetest Kona passed away, I have a big feeling that Kona's spirit is inside Maui, and he's really great with you and your family. And I was having 6 Shih-Tzu dogs. But 4 of them was so old, they all passed away, then we have 2 left now. You are so cool David, love your videos too! I would love to see your new video why will we want Akita doggy on your next video, that would be awesome! Have a good day, David!
the Akita Are Imperial guard dogs that meaning they were never for hunting bears at all they defended Japanese nobility. Lovely example david i am currently on my second Akita he's just 13 months old and nuts just like yours. had many breeds over the years but these are the only Dog i will ever have now.
