What makes Kenyans so fast? These are their 'secrets'
Kenyans are the fastest runners in the world without a doubt. Eluid Kipchoge, who just ran a sub2 marathon distance, is from Kenya and most of the marathon winners around the world. You can bet that at least one Kenyan will be on the podium of almost every marathon or race with prize money. As an extreme example, the first 17 men in Singapore Marathon last year were Kenyans. In this video, I share a day with junior and senior athletes at St. Patrick's Highschool in Iten, Kenya and 9 things that keep Kenyans fastest in the world. The youth running camp will go on until 26th of April. The camp produced numerous world champions, from Peter Rono, Wilson Kipketer, David Rudisha, Lornah Kiplagat, Edna Kiplagat, and Mary Keitany.

Rui Heng Chua 1) Good running form stops you getting injured, just as Krypto says. 2) Good running form makes you faster - the simplest example is a heel strike puts the brakes on with every stride, but obviously there are lots of other examples. This will not ‘straighten itself out’ - many people run like this their whole lives and never achieve their full potential because of it.

Running is a kalenjin affair. The first to make international debut were,Kiprugut Chumo,a kipsigis from Kericho,then kipchoge keino,a nandi and Ben Jipcho from Mt Elgon region. Ben Jipcho comes from small sabaot/sebei community in Bungoma,western kenya. Then came Mike Boit and thousands others up to date.

Soeni Rono Not true we have other communities like the maasai(David Rudisha the great) , the late Samuel Wanjiru who was a Kikuyu,Obiri (Kisii) and so many more.

@soenikrono8207 4 года назад
@@mwasjohn58 There's also Catherine Ndereba, Bedan Karoki,Patrick Makau and Wakihuru. But for a kikuyu to be an athlete,he/ she must be from Nyahururu or Laikipia. So you can conclude that they're not pure.

It's basically their childhood and almost only that, not their training, just look at Jakob Ingebrigtsen who ran 9 times a week as a child or Hicham El Guerrouj (13 times a week at 15years old), everyone can be worldclass with the same childhood
