In this video, we discuss what happens when the rpool in a Proxmox VE boot drive fails. This can happen either when a single boot disk fails, or even when you have multiple disk failures that cause a RAID array to be lost.
We discuss how we recently had a mirrored SSD setup fail in the data center, and how services stayed up even though the boot drives failed. We then discuss the key items that are lost when the boot drive fails.
