Bella partita! Una missione che avvantaggia chi ha il maggior numero di ricognizione. L'unico errore, a mio parere, non aver tenuto nascosto i blindati con i TOW e farli uscire sfruttando il blitz
Great batrep as always. Team Yankee is different from FOW because of air and air defence. If an opponent has air then air defence is critical. My regular opponent once set up his air defence in a field for cover and my Israeli Merkvas drove up on a hill and with ROF 2 and laser range fielders and no cover because of the hill, wiped out his air defence in the first round. My helicopters ruled the battlefield. The motto is hide your air defence well if the opponent has air.
Great report, as always. Im not so sure about the play. The Swedes were very badly positioned at the start of the game. The AT assets are actually ok, but very light, so why were they stuck out in the open? Swedes survive by keeping in cover. Odd choice of the IKV-91's in ambush. Its more usual to have the S-Tanks doing that. I dont really rate the IKV-91 - I know they did great in this game, but they are very expensive for what they are. Not really cost effective at all. I think they did well because the Soviets positioned themselves well, but their attack was very badly handled. They'd have done much better masking the Swedes on their right flank and throwing all their tanks at the left most objective. T-72s don't do well against dug in Swedish infantry, so why put them there? You are quite correct re the Viggens. They won the game for the Swedes, but they were only able to do that because the light tanks massacred the Soviet AA early on.
Thanks. Unfortunately, Swedes have the Reserves problem: if you want to have 2-3 units in reserve, the S-tanks are one of them. But the Ikv 91s did well. 😊
I love your style of battle reports. Very entertaining! Out of curiosity, where did you get your blue & yellow dice? And what size are they? I'm building my own Swedish force in Team Yankee and it would be great to have dice themed to the force!
Thanks. My dice are white/blue and then I painted the white dots... yellow. But I know of an Australian company that produces dice with the Swedish three crowns. 😊🇸🇪
