All your points were so ACCURATE…I’ve seen and felt All of them during this journey…but lint and varied loc lengths are DEFINITELY A THING….I’m so glad you addressed it. Brushing has helped but there are some locs that I’ve lost hope in…🤷🏾‍♀️. Great Video Sis….😍

Awww thank you sis! So much to share about this journey ( sometimes it's hard to believe how much there is to talk about hair). I'm definitely going to have to try brushing.., once again, I have been influenced by you & @mindfullnicole. I appreciate you :)

Hey Laura, I agree with you about knowing how to maintain your own hair. I wish I didn’t have to all the time, but I haven’t found a Locticion I can trust yet. So until I find one, at least I know the basic stuff. Making mistakes, helps me to learn what not to/what to do for my hair. I greatly appreciate the information you share on here, because you help us to gain the confidence to learn the ins & outs of establishing our own maintenance routine in achieving healthy natural hair.

Heyyy NaTarsha, I'm so glad you're comfortable maintaining your hair until your find a loctitian you can trust. That's a whole topic in itself..whew! finding the right person to handle our hair is so key! I'm so glad that you find the information helpful, that's exactly what's its all about :) Healthy natural hair can be achieved with practice. I appreciate you as always

Thank you for the great knowledge and tips. I am nearly two year in with my locs. You articulated so many good relatable points. I definitely never thought I would have lint either😂. Now I learned it’s something out my control. I also got locs because of care free they are. I used to compare my locs to other people all the time especially the length. I learned that locs are not uniform, they are not perfect. Everyone has their own individual loc journey and that’s when I really learned to love my locs 💕

You are most welcome, thank you for watching and commenting :) woohoo to two years locd, how exciting! I’m so glad you found the points to be relatable. Sis….LINT!!!! Like why?!?! It’s the most annoying thing to deal with…actually, i feel like i just ignore it lol. Amen to locs not being uniform, they all look drastically different and that’s the beauty :) I’m so glad you love your locs, its such a fun and exciting journey.

Great tips, I'm 22 months locd so still learning 🥰🥰 I stopped re twisting as I wanted thicker locs and it used to take ages!!

Thank you for watching :) Yesssss to 22 months! I feel like we'll all be learning at 10 years locd lol. I hear ya about retests taking time and wanting thicker locs. We must share the same vision in terms of thick locs :) How often are you currently retwisting? Have you achieved your desired thickness?
@ElisiasEvolution
@ElisiasEvolution 2 года назад
@@laurakasuvu I've just stopped retwisting full stop, because they are matured now they just grow into the loc, I just separate, if they marry after a wash day. It will loc without re twisting, guess I'm semi freeform now....💖 It's definitely thicker so I'm getting there... 🥰

Thank You sis :) Maintaining locs has so many benefits but I totally get how intimidating it can be. Do you currently self maintain?
@DB101415
@DB101415 2 года назад
@@laurakasuvu Yes. I started my loc journey with two strand twists on 10/01/19. You are right, it was a little intimidating at first, but I knew if I took my time I could do it. A week before my 23rd month, I did visit a salon to have them maintained professionally. I am pleased to report that it was a positive experience. So if I choose to have them maintained professionally in the future, I have someone I trust.😁

LOVE your locs! Gorgeous! Enjoy them at this length. In July I will be locd 5 years. Love my locs, them being long is great, but the lint is real!!! Light brushing for me has helped.

Thank You, Nicole :) Happy upcoming 5 years locd! You’re so right about enjoying them now, each phase goes by so quickly! LINT!!!!! I was so convinced that i would never have to deal with it, now i’m fighting to not have lint in my hair lol. I’m going to try brushing :)

Your locs are so beautiful!❤️ Also thank you for talking about self- maintenance. I'm always relying on my loctician to interlock for me, which isn't sustainable. I'll definitely learn how to interlock!

Thank You my dear sis fro Kenya. Its definitely easier to get our hair done by someone else:) I'm so glad that you are willing to try self maintaining. It gets easier with time:) How long have you been locd?

Im starting to get lint now! 😑😑 All of your points were so accurate! Also, I talked about it in my microloc regrets vídeo, the reties are a commitment!
@laurakasuvu
@laurakasuvu 2 года назад
Someone needs to come up with a lint solution/remedy. How are you dealing with lint? Reties are definitely a commitment, I had test sister locks installed before I started my current set & it was then I knew I couldn't commit though I LOVE sisterlocks so much. I'll just live through your journey :)

@@laurakasuvu @kendrakenshay just posted a video about how to keep lint out of locks a few days ago. I only have them at the nap of my neck. I plan to watch her video and see what she says.

Hey Queen, question for you please Have you heard/tried the Vicks vapor rub on your scalp for hair growth/restoration?
@laurakasuvu
@laurakasuvu 2 года назад
Hey sis! Great question. I am not as familiar with this, I do recall seeing some suggested videos about this a few years ago. My first initial thought is I wonder if individuals who pursue this are seeking root stimulation from the camphor ( I think this is the ingredient in Vicks). I do worry about the other ingredients in Vicks being placed on the scalp. To me, the petroleum texture reminds me of a hair grease. I do have a sensitive scalp; I would be hesitate to try. I'm certain this might have worked for someone though!
