They need to tell this to younger people so that they don't feel they need to be in that loop. I'm 58 now. I learned all of this at a young age. Nothing is so important. Following others is a race that never ends. Trying to keep appearances is an illusion it's not important. What's left after everything has faded are just meaningless memories. Not important. When my hair was turning silver someone asked me if I was going to dye my hair. I looked at them, and said no. I earned this, and I'm not going to pretend to be young. I'm old. They didn't like that answer. I didn't care.
