@@sakshamsinghal5418 exactly all of them have their contribution Chhetri can't always defend and become a midfielder there are teammates who do that for him it's true that he provides a lot of goals but it's wrong to say he alone is carrying the team
In a cricket crazy nation, he took football to a whole new level in the country and made so many people realise what football can do in India and what national team is capable of and it's true potential. This man carrying out the whole team on his shoulders. Captain, Leader, Legend.
I have tears in my eyes. I could not imagine that he never shows frustration that if hew grew up in a footballing nation he would have played for bigger clubs. He instead groom youth for about 10-15 years continuously. I can't imagine how he has single handedly saved Indian football.
I remember that plea when he asked fans to come. In india we are crazy about cricket but that one incident made every single cricketer and cricket teams social media handles rally in his support. Looking back it was a beautiful episode ngl.
@@adamberg4307 he uploaded a video begging indian fans to come and watch their football match in afc cup. This man deserves every bit of stardom he has achieved! He has single handedly taken Football and Footballers’ respect to a new level in the country! In a place where cricket was everything Captain has made fans believe in Football!
He's the legend for us. We know we lack on many aspects as compared to European countries but we never get tired from learning in limited resources. It's great to see that you have acknowledged a player's legacy that's so special for us.
U r right bro.. but india in the 1st place should n never has limited resources..Its just the craze of cricket that makes football lackluster in fromt of ppl..hopefully indians will realize that they need to support their team as much they do to their cricket..peace
As someone from Nepalese roots, I feel proud for him. Edit: I don't know if you understood my English, but I'm referring to myself when I say "As someone from Nepalese roots". I know this confusion was caused because most people don't speak English natively. Native speakers tend to use the words the way I've used.
The fact that he had to lie in order to represent india is sad. Sunil said in his very early interview that his father is also from Nepal but went to india as a gurkha soldier. Sunil also was born in Kakarvitta. But moved to india for schooling. But now his birth place is in India somehow. I'm not tryna hate him. His father became indian citizen and now sunil is doing great which he could never achieve from Nepal. But he had to lie in order to play for india.

@Sanyam Kumar No lol. People call him penaldo because he dives for penalties and cry if penalty is not given. And Penaldo fans call Pessi for no reason

@@dhanushkrishna2004 what about Portugal playing European qualifiers ?? I watch European football more than Indian Football bro do you know in qualifiers there are lower teams as well as good teams in a group in every continent
I have seen european ,americans making fun of him for scoring against weak opponents. I'm uncle was a amazing football player...who actually got selected for the Indian National time....in the 70s...he was known as the white pearl in Kerala Kochi....his teammates said that there never seen such a football player....but he didn't represent India... because he had lot of family problems to take care off....he was the only person to take over our huge family after his father died... giving up all his dreams.....ppl said he was close enough to maradona.... unfortunately we never witnessed his full potential....lots of dreams like this was put a full stop ...his name is Cliffy Gaulbert and he passed away in 2013 at the age of 63.....rip unca...one day I will make sure ur story is heard
He did that but he can not be compared to Pele or any other top players from around the world . India plays Bangladesh , maldives , qatar , sri lanka . He might be the best Indian footballer and thats great but it ends there. Its unfair to him to be compared with the likes of Pele

Surprising that he comes from a country that produces talented football spectators. Nobody can beat India in watching football on TV and doing quality tactical analysis.
In a nation where only few states like Kerala ( I am a malayali ) were crazy about football, whereas others were cricket fans, he made football an actual ambition for many.
