@Matt. One of the best tips I can give is to take a screenshot of your set sail pass barcode from the app. Inevitably when you get onboard the cellular network is rather lacking so when you head to the muster station to scan yourset sail pass, you can load it on the app. I recommend instead to pull up everyone's barcode from a screenshot and have them scan that. It makes your vacation start so much quicker.
This channel makes some of the best cruise ship tours. They are a must-watch before your trip. They have a slow filming style that is the opposite of most fanatic amateurs. Love you guys ❤
@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog I love the content, these blogs are awesome, my only negative is that the narrator talks so fast and doesn’t have the clearest voice that I sometimes have to rewind several times and even then don’t understand some things. I would like to request that you slow down slightly and enunciate a bit more clearly, thank you. Just my opinion.
If you like a cooler room, turn your thermostat down right away. If not, it will take longer for it too cool off when everyone else gets in their rooms.
Make sure to unpack your bags ASAP once your luggage arrives to your room. You won’t have to worry about it later AND if you have any wrinkled clothes this allows you to spray them down with wrinkle release spray and allowed to hang up to dry and get the wrinkles out. If you don’t use the spray then this allows you to hang them up as early as possibly to steam them in the bathroom and gives them time to dry.
I agree. Is also gives you a breather in the afternoon after a hectic day of traveling, parking, embarking, and stuff Matt suggested and get away from the hustle and bustle for a few minutes. Then go enjoy the sail away.
Only unpack if you are not in the cleaning crews way!!! If you get to your room early and they are still changing over rooms then drop what ya can say hi and get out of their way.
@@911HRW Call Royal Caribbean and give them you're friends booking number and they can link the two bookings. I do this when I'm traveling with friends and never have a problem. Good luck!
We have a tradition when cruising with a group to meet for our first drinks at the pub and enjoy a few slices at Sorrento's. Alaska on the Anthem of the Seas in 379 Days.
For frequent cruisers: book your next one at the next cruise desk or create an open booking. If done on day 1 you get a free bottle of champagne. Also, if you win a free cruise at the casino you will need an open booking to redeem any free play you get. Even though that's not urgent you might want to do that if you have nothing better to do until your stateroom is ready.
I haven't cruised with my kiddos...yet, but on our trip in the spring I will be. One of the first things I'm going to do is go by the teens hangout and Adventure Ocean with them to get them familiar with it. Even if we don't end up using it, they need to know it's there.
When traveling with our grandkids, we sign them up in the kids program right after doing the muster station and before eating. Also, grabbing a drink to start your vacation. Keep cruising 🛳️❤️🍹
@@KIKFulgore we went from an interior to an aft corner balcony for a little over 200 total. Got lucky as it was a celebration trip so the travel gods were on our side
@RoyalCaribbeanBlog were leaving Oct 6 on harmony of the seas,my first time leaving mainland US,iam really excited to see world, even though this is just a part of the world out of the rest of it to explore
@IsaiahJamesBackTheBlue We're doing the same itinerary on HOTS later that month. Cruises are like tattoos; Most ppl can't just stop at one. Stay safe, Brother.
Once you have access to your cabin, not only set your A/C to your desired temperature, but also close the curtains if you have a balcony room. This helps especially if it is sunny and warm outside.
I find it more convenient and less stressful to book individual restaurant reservations before getting on the ship. Although a dining package might be cheaper, if you wait for a sale, you can get big discounts on specialty restaurants online, and reserve the times that you want to dine. Waiting to board the ship to make dining reservations may leave you with dinner at 5:30 or 9:30 p.m. Off to Bermuda on Liberty (again) in 29 days!
I'm cruising next week - hopefully no hurricane - but you forgot to mention if you are planning on doing ANY of the sports on board - go to the deck that has the surf pool and sign up and get your wrist band. If you wait until the day you want to try to rock climb or body surf - you'll have a long line to stand in.
You might want to get a wrist band to open the door for your kids (if you have kids with you). Also signing up for on-board extra activities (like a flow-rider lesson).
Make sure the toilet in your cabin flushes, and that you have hot water in the shower. If you don’t have these things on the first day, you may not have them for the entire cruise.
How are you doing Matt. I am a big fan of your work! I would like to know do you know of all of the upgrades Allure will receive during Amplification? Thanks!
I say this every time, because I've seen on every cruise, people red as lobsters on the first day on the deck after a few hours being on one. Remember Sunscreen or enjoy a long cruise suffering from it.
In my experience the first thing you should do is buy a drink if you don't have a drink package because price will go up to regular prices after leaving port.
15 minutes after you check in at your muster check your app to verify it's really done. If you have an assigned dining room table find it early so you won't need an escort on day 1.
Oh crap. I have fragrance sensitivities. I did a bunch of research and couldn’t find anywhere that mentioned RC as having a smell. Def heard MSC does. Is it a fragrance smell? Like the fragrance from cleaners or air fresheners?
Unfortunately the way RCL deals with the handicap that rent scooters, it is hard to explore the ship or even get lunch as soon as we get on, The scooters ae in the staterooms and not accessible, They drop us off at a central location and we have to wait till the cabins open to get the scooter.
We, using our own scooters from home, go to the cabin immediately as soon as we board. We explain to the stateroom attendant that we need a medical refrigerator for the IV antibiotics. Sometimes, I have to rest. Just go to the cabin and get the scooter chair immediately. We've been on 89 cruises, and they always understand. Best wishes.
#10..Take..your..Bonine/Dramamine! Either of them work for 24 hours and will help you get more easily adjusted to sea travel than if you wait for open ocean and that first blast of discomfort
Walk down the hallway of your room to find your luggage. Every RC cruise we've ever taken, we've found our luggage halfway down the hallway and nowhere near our room...nor has our luggage ever been delivered to the room before embarkation on any RC cruise we've taken.
I wonder how many RSVP they will hold back for advanced RSVP online before the cruise made online, when we finally sit down , they were really busy, but actuality, they were not, they hold back spots in there booking for walk ins
I’m confused I booked Izumi on the app and it let me select a specific time and everything. Is it just if you have the dining package you have to make a reservation once on board?
Sanitize your room, and get your children signed up and familiar with the kids club. Don't wait or it will be harder to make friends and you will end up entertaining them the entire time.
