Karl, great vid! I'd add a few more issues to think about. It's not common but it has happened, always visit the van at the address it's registered too, ask for DL, V5 and check engine chassis match. Also if they ask for cash on collection, this is an alarm bell. Imagine carrying 10k with you to be met by a believed seller, who robs you, that has happened. I'm ex police and vaguely recall a nasty robbery some years back. If its Genuine then a bank transfer is the safest option. Try to avoid carrying cash. Also whilst I'm on it. If you asked if finance is outstanding, they cannot legal own the vehicle. Walk, or if its easily remedied, ask for the finance company and arrange to pay them the settlement. If this is not possible and you buy it, good luck in trying to avoid the liability at some later stage. If they don't pay it off. Hope this helps.
Love your down to earth approach. I'm toying with the idea of getting a van and converting, so this vid was really useful. Will probably watch any more by you, thanks!
Thank you,,, you have given me some more idears, not beeing a machanic my self and will put it to practice. there are many other checks to be done so Im building a list from what I find on youtube. I am now a subscriber to your channel hope to see more thanks again.....
So true. I felt I really scored with mine. 2021 Custom Limited. Perfect condition, 8,000miles and best of all No VAT! Couldn’t have chosen better and I was looking at another van at the time when it popped up on my EBay feed!

I wish I was in the UK or EU buying a van. Here in US if you need a used van you're basically in the toilet, it's full of brown stuff and it's overflowing.
This was really professionally done, I liked how the videography went ❤️ and the information given was great! I’ll be happy to go check out some vehicles myself before I contact a mechanic (still would not trust myself entirely before buying 😂) the tips were a huge thing -confidence building for someone who has no knowledge about cars 😅
Hey mate, love the video and thanks for the tips! Just one question, what’s your thoughts about mileage when buying a van? I’m looking at swb transporters and transits at the minute and a lotta stuff around the £8-10k mark has done 150k plus miles. Which for me coming from the world of bikes and cars seems like an awful lot! I was trying to find something under 100k but that doesn’t seem doable. What’d you think?
Great vid man thanks! One question: These dealers that offer nationwide delivery, how does that work then? When do I pay, and how do I manage to see it before paying? The reason i'd opt for nationwide delivery is that it opens me up to a larger selection, and I don't have transport.
Thanks for the tips Karl, wish I had seen it before I bought a T5 Transporter last year, that swiftly went back to the seller, lots of hidden problems!!! The plonker still owes me a good wedge of cash, ignores my messages the coward!!!
dislike ... not interested in how to search for a good van .... but a van for conversion... so no modes comparation and advantage and disadvantage between them
