Italy should make the two of you "honorary Ambassadors". I have never seen such a beautiful and touching video that captures the essence of Italian culture and their family oriented lifestyle. Well done!
This is one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen. I am proud of my Italian heritage and this video reminded me of how my grandparents and parents taught me to live my life. Thank you for this beautiful video. ❤️❤️❤️
I know Alessia won’t like the comparison, but many of these points (especially those related to food, family/community, art, and walking/moving naturally) are equally true of the French. I haven’t made it to Italy yet (it is high on my list), but I’ve been to France many times, and these are just some of the reasons that I love France - the focus on balance in life and appreciating the small things, rather than the US attitude of live to work, eat to survive, buy the newest most expensive things to keep up with or outdo your friends and neighbors.
That's absolutely true: that's why we consider them our (inferior) cousins from "oltralpe" (from beyond the Alps). And that's why we like to tease or pick on each other and are constantly challenging each other (best wine, best food, best car, best luxury apparel etc.).
I have to admit you made a very good and entertaining video, but you depicted a romancized version of the Italian lifestyle. Of course there are people in Italy who live la dolce vita as you so beautifully described, in small town or enchanting villages, but for most Italians life is not that leisure or slow
Cannot wait to watch this later on! I too enjoy all of your videos, you are such a blessing to watch, and God bless both of you. I appreciate that you are such a loving and respectful couple to each other. Not everyone is and you show the love of Christ in your marriage.
The video you so thoughtfully and respectfully created could also be an international commercial for tourism for people to come and visit Italy 🇮🇹 ❤ very well done!
I was honestly searching for this specific phrase yesterday on RU-vid 😊 Thanks for another lovely video. Your voice is so relaxing Jessie. ❤ I just know the content you create once you make the big move is gonna be mind blowing.
Italy is my hearts second home (I dont have a home there). I try to go at least once a year. I spend all year saving to go. I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't go. The feeling I get as soon as I smell the air getting off the plane! ❤ I would love to move to Italy one day. 🇮🇹 ❤
Dear Jessie you also have beautiful personality that appreciates this lifestyle. It can be very trying living here, as you know but the benefits outweigh the bad for us! It's similar attitude in many parts of Europe ! You captured the best of the best in Italy for sure! Hopefully we can meet one day. We are two Bostonians in Sicily) CIAO!
I truly enjoyed what is a “fairy tale” for most of us. As much as you say it could be adopted anywhere, I’m sure my boss in corporate America would have something to say if I take an hour lunch break let alone 3 hours every day!!! He would have kittens! I wish we could all live as Italians do. I bet there would be a lot less health issues related to stress and obesity. One can dream….
@@MsTeeweeteano, she was talking about often businesses and shops and even some smaller grocery stores close for 2.5 to 3 hours in the afternoon and even office workers will sometimes get 1.5 hour lunch breaks.
Your editing style reminds of Kylie Flavell’s one. You’ve done such a precious job with this video, it can be really used to advirtise our country abroad… I’m Italian and I love your videos. Keep on rocking girl!
Would love to see a music list (is it here & Im missing it? Beautiful music. Beautiful vid. Thank you for your thoughtful production. So comforting to me. ❤
I'm always surprised by the ignorance some people have... I think they just see a video title and think of a mean thing to say without actually watching the video... Great topic and keep up the good work! I was curious because I'm not sure I heard correctly, did you mean a 3 hr. lunch? Haha, I admit to being someone who tries to eat lunch to get it done with so that I can get back to work.
I think she refers to it during the weekend, when having lunch with friends or family, and it sometimes lasts more than 3 hours. During working days we used to eat light lunch like sandwiches or 1st plate pasta. Eating with family and friends, each person recounting their lives for the last week, whether it is good or terrible, and of course, the negative will be the topic of discussion about how to avoid it happening again. From children to grandparents, everyone will express their thoughts on the week's events and family matters, and the grandmother and mother will discuss how they prepared the delicious cuisine. I grew up with this, and we still do it even if some of us are already in paradise.
@@boytiti5446 Ah thank you! I must not have heard the part about the weekend, that makes sense and it is a beautiful exercise! Wish that I more of my family lived closer, did something similar, but harder to do once we spread out.
I think she meant the 3 hour lunch break that many business owners take, not necessarily eating lunch, doing other business but also running errands and MAYBE a short nap. Many smaller stores close from 1/130 until 4 and then are open until 7/730
I read newspapers saying that because of the heat (well, it's summer though) tourists will prefer to visit North Europe next year in summer. I just came back to London and the first week of August I haven't seen the sun one minute. I'm afraid people will want to see the sun and blue sky in the summer, journalists are very wrong.

I generally appreciate your videos, but to my disappointment, about this video, I have to disagree with you. As someone who has lived in Italy for 23 years (Rome and Vicenza), this video is not representative of the reality, but very biased by someone who is spending a lot of spare time as a tourist. You are describing a life that only reaffirms stereotypes. Most of the people in Italy, either in big cities or small towns, live a busy life. Fast foods are growing and spreading everywhere. The country is not growing and the emigration rate is only increasing year after year. Racism, Homophobia, sexism are sadly spreading. Poverty, Unemployment, demographic decrease are killing the economy. I'm not expecting you to make a 4 hours video with all details on bad things about Italy, but sadly, reality is very different and this video shows a side of Italy that doesn't exist.
I agree. All the Italians I know here talk about how unliveable Italy is. Let them live in their delusion and tell themselves everyone can live like this. It’s not a problem to present the positive sides, but failure to mention, even just briefly, the downsides is totally biased. But I guess you guys won’t be a stranger to biases like classism and racism at all since Alessio is from Italy and, well, both of you are living white privilege. Keep living in your delusion that “the principles of Italian lifestyle” la dolce vita and la dolce far niente will solve all the problems in everyone’s lives. 🙄🤮🤮🤮
It's natural to yearn for your previous life in Italy, the reason you left was important to you at the time, for whatever reason you made that choice then.
A stunning video, Jessi. So inspiring ... oddly reminds me of my own Italian-American grandparents and great aunts. Many born in Italy. They embodied these values, too.
What a beautiful, beautiful video! Jess, you and Allessio are wonderful creators! I feel like I traveled with you all when watching your videos! I love how you all care so much about the quality of your content! Thank you for being who you all are! I enjoy all of your videos so very much! ⭐️⭐️
Such a beautiful video for a Sunday morning. I love how their focus is still on family being together unlike the western world. A wonderful country and society❤
Totally agree with everything you've noted here. I've just returned from 5 weeks in Italy (as a solo traveller) and I felt so connected in every way. I loved the slower pace, and although I was travelling solo, I still managed to connect with locals who were so amazing. I've visited Italy for short trips over the last 20 years, but I know I love the longer trips... already planning another 5 week trip for next year. PS. What village is shown at 11:30?
i think Italians and Greeks are really really similar in many ways, especially the food. I’m italian and my dad comes from Puglia, and being part of the Magna Grecia, the architecture and meals are so similar! If you see Ostuni (a city in Puglia) looks so much like Greece
@@chiaratundo8336 I believe it, the Greeks moved. Throughout the Mediterranean all the way back to the Minoans and Mycenaeans. The plus is the delicious food for both. I would love to get back to Italy and see and eat more. 🤌🤌🤌
Let's say that you are not "cursed" but very lucky given the poor level or the lack of refinement and value of the primary food products they eat, while in the worst case, anti other peoples and often not only have the "luck" of eating they don't do it at all.
Maybe from your point of view as an American, it's great because you don't have as much vacation time and the American mentality is work to live. But Italy has it's own set of problems too.
Every country has its problems, I'm Italian and I moved to the US because I was sick of my country. And I truly love the US more than Italy, but you can't compare two places like that! 3000 years of history, masters of the world for almost two thousand years, a small country but still one of the seven world powers (7) even after having been the epicenter of two world wars, being the "aircraft carrier" of the Mediterranean .. all this time has contributed to the good and bad to get us where we are today.. of course, if we lived in a perfect world, I would ask for nothing else that a place with the best of USA and ITALY! But unfortunately the world we live in is anything but perfect! Bless u dude! 🇮🇹 🖤💪❤️🇺🇸
Mandi!
I'm Italian American but have never been. At 70, i may never. Thank you for capturing my heritage as I'venever truly experienced it. Beautiful words, voice, inspiration. Loved it.❤
Sorry to hear that you as an Italo-americano may never come to visit the country of your origin. You should make the effort to, Italy is worth a visit, at least once in one's lifetime. But if you ever have a chance,, don't choose the big city like Milan, Venice or Florence. Choose small towns
Your never know what life can give to you, may be, one day u could finally go to italy, you should definitely do so if you can, if u healt can give you this possibilità, if u have the money to do so, I wish with all my hearth you can come to italy one day, have a nice life my friend😊
You made such a beuatiful video about Italans ...I am from Croatia...but I love Italians and Italian cousine and how the food is sacred ❤️🍀🌿They put so much work and heart in everything they do...I am very sorry that Italians is presented only for DOLCE VITA for me Italians are one of the hardest workers in Europe ...! The work very hard and very much dedicated to work ..❤️🍀🌿

What a lovely video to watch on a Sunday morning. I love Italy and it is one of the countries I have traveled to several times. Great job on a beautiful piece of art. 😊
Simply watching this video brought me such peace. Thank you for reminding me how beautiful the Italian culture is! God bless you both with a wonderful life together!
Italians are crazy but wonderful. I love relationships and talking as they do xoxo they can be so good at it. The greeting. I pray God sends me a husband to take me there. Maybe he will be Italian or from Malta or who knows where. There are many saints I would like to visit in Italy too xoxo The Catholic religion is why they are like they are and have what they have. Its touched every part of that country. Thank you beautiful view. I love how you love your husband and life.
Yep we’re in Pgh pa and food is always a big discussion in our house. My husband loves my cooking. He’s Italian and I’m German. I’ve cooked everything. He’s enjoyed everything. We absolutely love watching you guys. My mother in law would have enjoyed your videos. Her parents grew up in Italy. They Then came to the us to have their family. My mother in law was one out of seven. Her youngest brother is the only one left. He traveled to Italy with his family and everything was centered around food. They had a blast. When we visit them in Florida we’re surrounded by food and especially dessert. My husband and I will be married for 30 years 2024. Our daughter will be married oct 2024. Her venue looks exactly like a villa in Tuscany. We are so excited for everyone to enjoy the food and cookie table at her wedding. We had 3,000 cookies at one wedding. We will always center our selves around food. Family and food matters most.of courses less salt and moderation.munga 😀😀😀💙💕🌸🌹

There are historical reasons for what’s called la dolce vita. For one thing, Italians are only one generation away from being peasants with an agrarian life, minus the Industrial Revolution. If you go into some remote corners of Italy, you see that that life is still intact. They don’t even have tractors. On the other hand, mechanized life and big Agra have been encroaching for decades. It’s taken resistance movements, such as the slow food movement, to try to stem the tide. It’s also taken EU regulations to limit work time to being at the office and not working in the evenings or on weekends. Plus, there is a Europe-wide tradition of long lunches, Italy and Spain being the most prominent countries with siestas. Etc. I prefer historical accounts of life, economics, and society to starry-eyed, sentimental romanticism, which makes it seem that one or another country is timeless perfection. Take community: in Italy, as elsewhere, communities-whether extended families, neighborhoods, or villages-are fraught with gossip, dysfunction, in-fighting, shifting loyalties, and xenophobia. It can be a nightmare. And young people want to escape their small home towns for the more anonymous cities. I experienced this first-hand, and can’t possibly romanticize that part of Italian life. Drugs and addiction have been on the rise in small towns for decades, too. Anyway, I don’t want to rain on your song to Italy, but some realism is necessary so that people don’t remain starry-eyed about a life that doesn’t really exist.
I guess Jessi is taking the positive aspects to encourage embracing the virtues. You are right, even the bureaucracy and corruption, can rival Asia lol. Also the expensive cost of living plus lowering employment opportunities.
@@Eloiseat6You must be fun at parties. First of all, la dolce vita is a movie directed by fellini in 1960, that's where the expression comes from. Second of all, if you think their objective was to depict italy as a perfect country you need to grow a brain asap, no country on the planet is perfect. Lastly, no one cares about your experiences with xenophobia, that's not what the video is about, so go cry elsewhere.
So inquiring minds want to know, is this kind of video artistry your primary job or side hustle, because if it isn't your primary, you have missed your calling.🌟
Its so true about preservatives in food. My husband has a little high blood sugar. We did a test. He ate the Same amount of oz boxed pasta vs my homeade pasta same weight. His blood sugar on a monitor he was wearing rose about 50 points less with the fresh pasta i made!
