Being a Norwegian Danish Viking my ancestors ate the food I consume today. It doesn't include plants - Only things which could swim or run away. Nothing beats whale, seal, reindeer, moose, birds, fish, crabs, pork, chicken, beef, lamb, goat and lobsters. Harvesting your own protein through hunting and fishing is normal human behaviour. I follow the Håvamål and Prim Stav - What to eat and when. My two favourite meals are Whale Stew and Cod Tongue Stew. Thanking the animal for giving its life to sustain us is something we always do. It maintains the connection to our lands and spirits. We pay tribute to our ancestors and the animals which help us thrive.

My ancestry includes Great Plains Native Americans. Buffalo pemmican is my ancient ancestral recipe. Your doggie is adorable. I just had a potluck dinner tonight with a couple of friends. I made an appetizer of pate wrapped in prosciutto with a little pickle spear in the roll. (A.k.a. carnivore taquitos). One friend goes hunting for mussels here on the rocks and raises chicken so we also had deviled eggs and steamed mussels in a cream/wine sauce. The next course was tilapia with a wonderful lemon garlic sauce that the other friend made. And the the main entree was ribeyes that I made. We even splurged and had whipped heavy raw cream with a few berries on top for dessert.

Loved this! It is all so true. It wasn't until recent times that we started eating processed junk and our bodies' biology and physiology treated it and are still treating it as foreign objects and poison. We have to think in ancestral terms when it comes to eating... totally agree!

Meant to mention your sea turtle pendant is really cool. I love sea turtles and worked with a team to protect loggerhead nesting areas in South Carolina by relocating nests above high tide lines and protecting them with fencing that kept predators out, but would allow the new hatchlings to leave when they were born. I feel like that viral "I like Turtles" video of that kid ...love them!

My grandmother who was born in the 1890s ate absolutely no processed food and was very healthy all of her life even having children into her late 40s. She ate pork, chicken, lard, and grew her own vegetables. I have not had food as delicious as what she cooked.
