Really interesting Liz, I’ll definitely take a look at all of this. I so appreciate your sharing of factual details covering health issues. One thing that has been a game changer for me is a SAD (seasonal affective disorder light). As someone who’s always struggled to fall asleep, DNA testing proved I don’t produce much melatonin naturally - I’ve used Liposomal melatonin (great but not sure long term) and even cough medicines etc. I bought a SAD light on Amazon to try for a friend who gets depressed in winter. The amazing thing was from that very first night I started to feel naturally sleepy at 10.30pm (normally could go till 1 or 2am before that). From then on I’ve made it part of my wake-up routine. As soon as I’m up I put it on, get a cup of tea and have it facing into me while I’m online doing my stuff, try to do this for 45mins/1hr. I’ve had the odd night where I’ve struggled but this has created a definite change. I’ve also found it’s changed the level of sleep, I dream more and am aware of the dream too. Also use a moulded neck support pillow in a silk case. Can’t use ear plugs unfortunately as they create sinus/ear problems for me.

Do you take your progesterone tablet at night also Liz? I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea so sleep is disrupted, I cannot tolerate the CPAP machine, that thing is a torture device, however there have been studies showing progesterone at night can help reduce the amount of apneas at night. Perhaps this is something you could cover in a video sometime. Thank you for all you do for us. ❤️

@@meercat70 what test Meer Cat ? Do you mean for Sleep Apnea? If so, you go to your GP first, they will refer you to a hospital or sleep centre for an overnight test.

I am with you on this totally. Slept well but with tablets until they were stopped mid August and since then, I have had very few good night's sleep. I am menopausal but don't have many other symptoms now other than not being able to sleep!

My gynaecologist has recommended tryptophan at bed time and said for me to carry on with my magnesium. She has prescribed me estrogel but wants me to try the tryptophan and magnesium first for two weeks before starting on the HRT.
