I thought you wanted the result in percentage as well... since square root of 2 is about 1.4, the percentage result would be about 70%. Nice brain teaser. Thanks for making our brain work!!!

Since calculators are not allowed, even in percentages, we would most likely be expected to give exact solution: 1/√2 = (100/√2)% = 50√2% Using a calculator does show that approximate solution = 70.71%

Since 25% =1/4 1/4)^1/4 1/2)^1/2 square the base, compensate by doubling the exponent 2^-1)1/2 2^-1/2 1/2^1/2 1/ sqrt 2 1/sqrt 2 * sqrt 2/ sqrt 2 sqrt 2/2 Answer

by simplifying i got to (1/2)½=x squaring both sides 1/2=x² x²-1/2=0 multiplying by 2 on both sides gives 2x²-1=0 (root(2)x+1)(root(2)x-1)=0 =>x=1/root(2) or x=-1/root(2) 25% to the power of 25% is equal to ± 1/root(2)

It *is* easy, in fact I could easily solve it in my mind before I watched the video for confirmation, but I'll admit that I never noticed that ¼^¼ = ½^½, that's nice 😁

Yes, since when there is an exponent and a base, if you find the square root of the base, you MUST compensate by doubling the exponent. so 4^1/8 = 2^1/4 since 2 * 1/8 = 1/4 And 1/4)^1/4 = 1/2 ^ 1/2) (since the square root of 1/4=1/2 and 2 * 1/4 =1/2)

The percentage of a number is a binary operator. In your task, I see an operator without a second operand. What doing this operator? Watch the video or... Let Per('empty', 'empty') - percentage operator where Per(a, b) = b * (a/100) Operator transforms into a function when all operands in places In my logic 25% its a Per(25, 'empty') operator. (25%)^25% = (Per(25, 'empty')) ^ Per(25, 'empty') (It is still an operator) (Per('empty', 'empty')) ^ Per('empty', 'empty') - New Some Binary Operator and let call it NSBO('empty', 'empty') NSBO(a, b) = (Per(a, b)) ^ Per(a, b) (Now it is a function created by a NSBO operator with "a" and "b" operands) Now we can apply NSBO operator to a some numbers: Let a = 25, b = 1 NSBO(25, 1) = (Per(25, 1)) ^ Per(25, 1) Per(25, 1) = 1 * (25/100) = 1/4 NSBO(25, 1) = (1/4) ^ (1/4) = 1 / sqrt(2) Note: Per(), NSBO() it is an operators named by myself and you can rename it how you want.

I agree but I think you should just state that the problem doesn’t make sense and move on. In the process you rewrote his bad problem. It is like me saying what is the answer to subtract 25 then subtract 25 (-25-25) and you saying the answer is negative 50 (-50).

Solved it correct with the two possible and correct answers : 1/sqrt(2) and sqrt(2)/2
@devondevon4366
@devondevon4366 Год назад
1/sqrt 2 = sqrt 2/2 since you do not leave the radical in the denominator after obtaining 1/sqrt 2. So, 1/sqrt is multiplied by sqrt 2/sqrt 2 to turn sqrt 2 into the integer, 2. note that sqrt2/sqrt 2 =1; it does not change the value of 1/sqrt 2 since 1 is the multiplicative identity of a real number.
