Hi Team,
For those new to the channel - I try to upload a couple of times a week, but keep in mind some days I just can't get out detecting or maybe no targets on the day. But almost every episode I release as a premiere video - which is played for the very first time on RU-vid. In the video’s its just about capturing the events that unfold on our journey through our gold detecting, and the best part about that is we just never know what the day will bring. Hi MG I'm a little envious. I've been watching your vids for quite some time and thank you for posting them. It allows me to 'join with you' when you're out in the paddock and I can't get out there. We (my wife and I) recently had opportunity to get to the Dunolly/Moliagul/Tarnagulla area and spent a few days out in the bush. It was very relaxing and we had great fun. We did our part to remove about 200-300 pieces of rubbish and as a reward, we found a couple of subgrammers. Unfortunately, we can't just 'get out on a weekend', we have to take time off to travel to GT and have another trip planned for Easter. Thanks again for the vids - quite educational. PS, I have the GPX4500 and the wife has a GM1000. Cheers,

As per usual a great video. There will come a stage you will need to take off the 14" and try something bigger to get to the next level of soil. Then you can start over again. Then you may need to upgrade stumpy to let you did bigger holes. Cheers and keep up the good work

Thanks Harry - looking forward to swinging the 17x11 on some deeper grounds. The main area where I have been focusing is maybe 30 to 50% detectable grounds - very dense as you can see in the Vids - swinging the 14 in some spots even becomes a hassle. I might even get back out to the Gold Hole area for day 40 in the next couple of days and test my luck with the 17x11 - seen as that area has better open grounds and not as dense. As for the Big Bertha pick that I have - wowo thats an effort just to carry that thing, I certainly dont miss carrying it like I did for so many years with the handle hitting the ground as I walk. 38 out of 39 days at that area have produced gold finds on each of the days so getting back out is a must - just needed a break as it was becoming to the point I felt I was constantly covering the same grounds. We all do it when we hit those excellent patches we always go back over the same rich patches, hoping its like a school of fish. Never happens but it would be good. In saying that with the 17x11 I should get more punch on deeper larger targets, and I know that there are spots there with a lot of fallen tree branches and very dense prickle bushes covering area's where I could not easily access. Majority of the open area's I did cover and the area's where the grounds were easy to move the overburden I done those spots, making windows as I progressed on each outing. Next stage is the harder work to see if I can be rewarded.

100% Correct on that mate, I always detect with the mindset that gold is everywhere under the coil and waiting for that little blip every step and every swing of that coil. Could be inches or just too far for the coil to see it, Concentration is heightened always ;) - I was actually mentioning to another operator that it is a game of inches. Thought you would be out - I am about 20 minutes away on getting out for another late arvo swing, just had some things I was doing. Cheers M.G

Thats a prospectors dream, we always say to ourselves if only we could take 6 inches or even a foot off the top in some area's how good would that be. Some area's are a battle here with such dense bush and being only 30% detectable in and around the damn tussocks or weeds. Even with controlled burn offs - those tussock seem to stay in big clumps and grow back. Thanks Mate

Did you check the area immediately around that second nug? I thought you might have had two targets there with the double sound. Anyway, great vid as always, mate.

Hi Rohan, Sure did mate always thorough inspecting the grounds, cross sectional line type. I believe the signal response was from the speed going over the target sending a double signal from each side of the Monoloop. If you check the first 2 signals it was slightly faster on the sweep then slightly slowed the swing down to show you guys what the actual signal was like when I found it. Notice how it goes from a single signal to a double almost like 2 targets. Interesting though because not all will send this type of signal. Hi John, yeah mate. Found the following in the goldfields in and around workings 6 Chinese Coins - One dated in Shun Chi 1665 - also some broken chinese coins. 5 Australian Coins - 2 x One Penny, Half Penny, 2 x Threepence English Shilling 1823/5 Other than that just the occasional current Australian currency. In 17 years detecting not a great amount of coins in the collection.

Thanks Patprop, in Vic GT the issue is they didnt really think too hard back in the early gold rush days. They buried most of the major goldfields underneath our towns by building townships, and majority of the surrounding bushland is all private land now with little of the goldfields still available. And as new estates are built it just takes away more available land. I would hate to think of the size of the gold nuggets buried over.
