Baker Mayfield fan, but Baker was never built for the moment in CLE as I originally thought after Heisman yr. from OU, not on a MVP/OPOY QB level....always showed flashes, like 2018/2020 but not enough on paper long-run year by year.. Cost Odell and the team often often in the long-run as well

I think The Browns are the problem in Cleveland 🤦‍♂️. I wanted to route for them. After all that losing. But then they go and throw thier QB who brought them to the playoffs and won a game under the bus so fast to give DeShawn Watson the best NFL contract ever despite insane baggage that wasn't even determined yet. Then when Baker asked to be traded they told him no smh. Sure Watson is better then Baker. But Baker wasn't horrible by any means. He also played through 4 injuries last year. Dudes got tons of heart and loyalty. Paired with the right coach and system/team/environment. I think he could grow into a great QB. Trust this has been the case for tons of QBs we regard today as good or great. Cousins, Stafford, Ryan Tannehill just to name a few. People underestimate the importance of a good coach and chemistry with him as well as thier ability to create a playbook around thier QBs strengths. Clevelands owners and front office are horrible. And it's probably why they had 20 plus losing seasons.

To be fair, his injuries held him back from being in the HOF. Snapped his ankle in his prime, was a step slower. Sure, Baker and Cleveland was certainly a shitshow and not his fault, but him tearing his acl twice now has just robbed him of so much of his athleticism.

There are literally 81 players that had more receiving yards and 39 players that had more receiving touchdowns last year, every game I watched with him on the Browns he was mediocre at best. If it wasn't for his playoff help, I wouldn't even think he should be in the top 200.
