Decided to open this rack pack that I got from one of the couple legit sources of the non-fake packs. I wanted to see the condition of one of the back cards, to get it out for grading some day. I paid about $120 for the rack, so even if 12 commons, was worth opening to get mid to mid-high grade 62 year old cards.

Sorry but this is not a “legit” pack. I have yet to see one single Christmas pack that I would say is legit.

The corners of the ryne Duren and Clem Labine are worn, dull and crushed. I think you got scammed on this so called “legit holiday” pack. So how much did you pay for an Early Wynn and nothing else?
@BigRichfrank
@BigRichfrank 2 года назад
Pretty sure NONE of these packs are real .topps never made a holiday rack pack . If u look at them cards all are OC .all have a stubbed corner. And " some have creases" .. no way it's not a repack . But It was a cool video.

I is absolute nonsense saying these were made in the 60's. All the cards were dinged and not even close to vending quality. Can you provide any evidence whatsoever that these cards were for sale in the hobby prior to 2000?
@TheCardDeal
@TheCardDeal 2 года назад
No, no one can. Just a repack product from years ago. Still fun to watch. If these were done 20 or 30 years ago, still chance for someone like Jim Kaat who just made the HOF and was an afterthought many years ago or when this was repacked.

@@TheCardDeal what are you, 15 years old? 20-30 years ago? Even 40 years ago all of those players cards were popular. "20 years ago" - smh

All of those Christmas packs were made in the 80's. Just so you know

Cool Early Wynn. However, these Christmas rack packs were never produced by Topps, so the comments at the start of the video about most of them being "fake" but not this one is confusing. All of these Christmas rack packs of old cards are re-packaged products.

Spot on, just look at the cards on the back and you can see cards from different series.

Been buying cards since the mid 1960's. I never ever saw these Xmas packs traveling to card shows in the 1980s across the country including the National every year. Topps has never made a "Xmas Rack Pack" in the history of the company. Are they real Topps Cards? Yes Were they packaged by Topps? NO Nothing but a repack. Poor value. Poor investment.

How is it that some of the corners are clearly used and bent!? That is apparently new package?

Lil' bit o' history here from a geezer: Ryne Duren, in case you haven't yet looked him up, was a hard throwing closer for the Yanks in the late '50s and early '60s, known for his extreme velocity and piss-poor control. Dude pitched in shades and didn't have fuck-all of a clue where the friggin' ball was going. But real damn intimidating.

I do not ever remember these Christmas rack Packs when I was a kid. There were rack packs in 1968,69 and 70 but they were in grocery stores.

Yes all fake, but I have a few with cards that are worth more than the pack sold for. I have a 74 that I’m sure is fake. But it has a beautiful McCovey and Brock with a league leaders for the third top card. A great display, but surely fake.

What if you just sent the unopened cello pack to PSA, told PSA to open it, and grade all the good cards?

120 bucks for a rack pack from 1960 seems crazy low. fishy. Mint condition commons from that set are worth over 50 bucks easy.
