Christ! Was it the 90s? I am so old now. I remember the first time I heard Full Moon. My dog had been fed a sausage with broken razor blade in it and I was driving her to the vet. She had a 5 hour operation but survived, she was very poorly; so on the way there I wasn't the best me I could be. Then Full Moon came on and I drove along with tears in my eyes and a huge grin on my face. Thanks guys.

I also remember, when I heard their eraly stuff dubbed on tape (cause it was too expensive to buy all the good LPs... :-) ). I was just reading the horror/thriller Christine, of Steven King fully involved, listening to the new music of metal, as all day that time... Then all of a sudden, when I read the intial motto of the next chapter 'Barbare Ann', the song started THE SAME TIME after the newly taped Bling Guardian LP, (actually they played the cover). I got paralyzed lying with the book in my hand, with some strange fear that she (the car) got me... I was frozen listening, till the song passed and the casette player stopped with a click. Then I looked after, this was still the amazign LP of BG, power metal + a great joke. Sweet memories.

He left this world about a month and a half ago, but even in his sickness he was talking about Angra and waited their new album so much. Unfortunatelly he'll never hear it.. I remember when I went to the shop each saturday and each time I found new amazing stuff... It was a party. I had all the 80's, 70's and even 60's classics to buy but, a part of all those music some new albums were being published. A lot of underrated bands and other subgenres: speedmetal, folkmetal, thrash, hard rock, symphonic, silo projects.... I can buy 5 or 10 albums each Saturday all of them incredible pieces of art.

I like how everyones personal history when it comes to music is different, yet there are still components that we have in common. A lot of these bands I didn't get into until much later and had other bands I was favouring in the era; but there are still the Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian and Rhapsody songs that most of us loved back in the day.

When i first got into metal i was more into thrash, megadeth, metallica, slayer and so on. But theres just something different about power metal. I dont know what it is, whether its the epic long songs, the emotional vocals, melodies, it just hits different. Defo my favourite metal genre now. Btw this channel is fucking awsome! Thanks

Amazing songs. I was lucky enough to travel from US to Sweden to see Stratovarius/Rhapsody/Sonata Arctica many years ago. Impulse Music in Roselle, Illinois was a record store that carried imports of all these bands. Great time to be alive and discover all this great music. Cheers \m/
