Thank you so much for such an experience, it was by far the most fun I’ve ever had on a track, such great driving skills and kind person, hope to see you again back at the Nurburgring in the future 🤝🏻❤️
Dude, your smile, your body expression is one of the top 10 from the last videos from Misha. Awesome build, wish we could have access to S2000 here in Chile. Saludos!
And there’s proof again: You don’t need these crazy amount of power to have A LOT of fun on the Nordschleife! 👏🙏 The owner clearly had the best day of his life while Misha was doing his „thing“ 👍 Always very cool to see the engine revving that high 🙏 Now imagine this car with this engine and then equipped with a small turbo -> 😍 Thanks for the video, as always highly appreciated! Best wishes, Philipp 👋
I totally agree: better to have a car with a good chassis and an amount of power that's not trying to kill you at every corner! That way having fun it's almost garanteed :)
@@JuanjeteMS and the aero slowed it down tremendously, for the rear wing to work you need a hardtop (or at least the roof up) otherwise it creates no downforce but a lot of drag ... that said, roof down is way more fun!
As an owner of a "high" 400awhp car and a "low" 200whp FWD car, this video nails it just in the middle of both experiences, doesn't need much power to have fun at all!. My FWD is way more fun than my S3 Quattro, by eons of difference. EDIT: Loved the smile and happiness from Javi during the lap, got me chicken skin, amazing how far you have come Misha, not just the editing, your driving is transmitting bunch of feelings to your viewers and i think more important, to the owners of the cars!.
There are always people saying this car is kinda slow. Fact is 240 hp are not 500hp. 240 is not enough for the Ring. But on a twisty road it can destroy almost anything.! Cornering speed is top
jup, a well sorted one turns in and keeps traction like nothing i have ever experienced yet, thanks to the double wishbones you don't really feel the weight too.
I owned an original Honda AP1 s2000 for over 20 years until I finally had to sell it last year. This is the first time I have actually missed it to be honest. Totally reminded me of why I fell in love with it all those years ago! Fantastic driving!
6:18 I love how he downshifted into a near red line but since he was in an uphill it was just enought to keep it climbing while not losing momentum and not overreving the engine.
That engine sounds so much better than the AP2 2.2 you drove recently. I didn't think it would be so much better! Less torque of course, but that sound! It feels like a motorcycle. ❤
I much prefer the F20C character over the F22C. There is definitely a torque deficiency, especially in the midrange, and I suspect the F22C actually made a bit more power. This was proven by countless dyno tests. But the F20C has a bit broader rev range, sounds better and is just more exhilarating imo. The F22C feels like the party ends just as its beginning.
@@bane2 actually the F22C made slightly less HP (237 instead of 240) except in japan both made 250hp, F22c makes more torque which makes it easier to drive and lets you pull more from slightly less rpm, the F20C if you want to get the most out of it you have to keep it in a very tiny RPM range like 7500 rpm to 9000, it's possible due to the short gearing but not a easy task, even Misha dropped out of it a few times and you can immediately hear and feel it.
YES! I haven’t owned an S2000 for many years but when I had an AP1 and frequented forums, many talked about the F20C engine paired with the AP2 transmission and/or differential and said it was a fantastic pairing. Always wished I could experience that, but I LOVED the F20C and tbh the torque difference really isn’t thaaat large. One benefit to the AP2 is that you can easily use something like Hondata to change when VTEC engages and make other adjustments. By the numbers FWIR AP1 usually ranged 190-205WHP stock, AP2 closer to 205-220WHP but my memory may be failing me don’t quote that lol.
Funny, MX-5 world is a bit similar. Some truly do prefer the 1.6L in the older NA models despite it being obviously inferior in a few different ways. Part of that is just the experience and sensations plain and simple. Personally, I adore my 1991 NA6 and the 1.6L engine, it reminds me so much of my old S2000 but is less precise steering bit more mushy but more road feel, slower of course, and lower revving. Miata is waaay more forgiving near the limit hahaha. I always thought a perfect car for my liking would be my 2180lb Miata mated with the F20C engine but apparently that requires steering geometry changed to get in so the K swap is the obvious choice but man I totally understand why there are a ton of F20C and F22C1 swapped AE86s out there!
That was a very good lookin 306gti and that induction sound those engine does is amazing for the ears! Great lap with the s2000.. sadly to much exhaust and no induction sound. Misha has to drive your friends 306Gti to😍
With the right person behind the wheel, you can really make an S2k grip and rotate nicely With the wrong person behind the wheel, it will rotate a bit too much lol
I'm addicted to watching Misha smash cars around the ring 😍 especially high reving Honda's! 😍 I'm a VW nut but man I'm getting a high reving Honda itch that might need scratching soon 😂
@@99Lezard99 Naturally aspirated yes, i think there is no 2L 4cyl NA production engine with 250hp right? Car is just a bit too heavy i think, if it mas Miata weight, that would be a rocket!
Incredible lap, Javi was scare as fuck at the beginning, i love his expressions. Really well driving as always Misha. Much love from Spain ❤❤ Hoping i can drive there in a soon future :)
Two s2000 in the history of the channel and now another two cars in few days. That really makes me happy. And i can tell by the tires and the wing this one is the best till now .
I love watching Misha driving these types of cars...you really see the skill and the work involved to make a lower horsepower car just dance on the track!
this car was good, but yea i agree with you, i think the content will come, i think Misha started to post the stock ones first and ist going up from there, i wouldn't be surprised if he already had driven a well sorted out one!
Misha you are without a doubt the Nordschleife GOAT!!! One day i will get my dream car and share the track with you🙏, gefeliciteerd met die miljoen abonnees broeder je bent oprecht een inspiratie voor ons allemaal ❤
These are such wonderful cars as a platform to build something very exciting. I had a buddy years ago that had one with a centrifugal supercharger, which at the time seemed a little odd to me, but the car doesn’t really make any torque so you got a lot of power filling in where there wasn’t any before, without some crazy doubled effect of lag from having a turbo and all of the power bottled up at the top of the rev range. I hope someday you get to drive one like this, just with some extra oomf.
There is an issue with the ABS or it wouldn’t happen. The car is set up to rotate under braking from the factory but without ABS too much force goes to the rear brakes.
Yeah that's NOT good, would def freak me out, would be constantly in the back of my head He still friggin ripped though Sort that out and that little things obviously even quicker Does he have any footage of a lap in a Honda (or any dohc N/A smaller displaced engine) that he considers well sorted and basically enabled him to have a clear head the whole lap?
I love the S2K. One of my dream car but unfortunately I couldn’t afford to own one as it was too expensive at the time. Love the Vtec scream and it’s a very fun and capable car. The owner seems to enjoy himself. Thanks Misha for sharing the video. Take care bro.
I gotta say one of the things I love about Europe is that this video features a German guy, a Spanish Guy and a Japanese car and they are speaking English. Bravo.
when the engine is already really good, and you toss on some other bolt-ons that bring the chassis into the modern realm, that is the purity that i love. i mean, listen to that friggin 2 liter SCREAM! its a lovely noise, and the car really dances nicely
The man could not stop smiling! A day he will never forget!! "So good" is just facts! Good amount of power with an incredible chassis, all down to the experience it delivers! One of the BEST production cars ever made! In todays era, needs a bump up in power, it is a different animal with a supercharger! Retains the power curve!
Good suspension(KW Clubsport or other versions),good brakes and pads, good tires and 250 HP and you can have lot and lots of fun @ the Ring. And moneywise it's doable for everybody aswell who has a normal job.('blue collar people').
High reving honda engines are always nice to hear. Amazing sound as always. Maybe it is to long ago, but what are your thoughts about the advan ad08 tyres compaired to an ar1? Because I’ve seen a test on youtube with the new ad09 compaired to the ar1 and the new crs. The tyre was faster than the ar1 and gives better performance in the rain. I would consider buying those instead of ar1.
Misha, curious about your thoughts of budget FR track cars and convertibles in a track environment. Love the S2K and Miata, however always mildly concerned about an open lid design. Have you ever tested an RX8?
The best clips to watch are always the Hondas ,most of the other cars just bore me after the fast bit,you really have to work for your money with the Vtecs love it
The people that complained about Misha not driving a modded s2k are the ones that crashed their s2ks since they cant a raw car. That snap oversteer lol
This maybe not the fastest car but the driving experience is just incredible! The sound, the dashboard, the open roof. It's perfect and will not kill you.
