I agree, not a fan of the mostly high pitched aftermarket exhausts for the 458. I daily drive a 458 spider and have had the Ferrari sport exhaust from the factory, an IPE setup with Cat deletes, and now a Frequency Intelligent (FI) rear box with the Ferrari downpipes. Novitec is nice, but I might argue the overall sound with the FI is even better, and while still keeping the factory Cats and not having too strong of a gasoline smell that entails like I had with the IPE. The factory sport exhaust is super quiet below 3000 RPM and the off/on valve switch at that range sounds weird to me. IPE sounded good in the old F1 kind of way but excelled at the highest RPM ranges only, and you don't want to be driving around like that all the time. With the FI setup I can be pulling out from a light with the valves open and give it a quick rev in the low RPM ranges which still gives an awesome deep grumble. No matter what, one of the best sounding V8's ever!

@Tim Comer , I can hear how it sounds, but it's very bland. The intake/exhaust note doesn't really change across the rev band.

It sounds much more special in person. Especially in the cabin. The driving experience is quite amazing too.
