There's a momentum thing that jookin has that really makes the battles fire. The crowd will tell you when to hit. When you get consecutive hits you might be able to do a simple move but it carries more power due to the level that you brought the crowd to. 1st dude did his thing but he kept missing the momentum. 2nd dude hit the momentum every time. Thus he won the battle. Anyone who disagrees would think differently if they were there to feel it.
Both are good but offbeat at times, they should let them dance to whatever they want. I'll take 901hype since he looked more skilled. But yes bias can be a thing in Memphis especially if you're from out of town.
You right but Rep has a lot to do with momentum too my guy 🤷🏽♂️ Most of the people there watched OG battle for 10+ years so seeing him snap again after a while feels good and brings extra hype
I understand why OG got it. There just wasn’t enough love for 901Hype though. In due time he’ll be recognized and truly appreciated for his style. It’s completely different and very eccentric, that’s why most people were quiet. I don’t think they didn’t appreciate it, more like they’re trying to understand it.
Hype was a better technical dancer and very creative but Jason reached the crowd easier with his musicality and understanding of the song lyrics better
Not bias. Jookin battles are won more often when the dancer knows how to work the crowd. Six times out of ten the crowd is made up of mostly other dancers(peers). The crowd will always let you know who won no matter what.
Honestly bro I’m from CA… most people I see do it overseas… or in other states … yea they’re dope But they miss something && it’s obvious to see by people in the scene so real ones will always know dw
