My grandbaby is sporting the hats and booties I knit so knowing the size is right I find myself pawing through my minis and lo and behold I have a great red and a green, a bit of black. and white. For 2 weeks she can wear Christmas themed hat and booties. The things we do.... Happy Holidays to you three!
Thanks for another podcast with great content. I’m inspired to try my hand at colorwork again after seeing all of Angi’s beautiful Alaska hats. You all looked mahhhrvelous in what you were wearing. 💕
Omg! Loved the letter from your daddy, Angi! Adorable! Thanks to all of you for another year of inspiration and laughs. Happy holidays! Love & hugs from Deep South Texas.
Loved all the FOs! Irene your sweater is glorious! Working the Burrs cowl has helped me with my colourwork. Now I can successfully use both hands and work in the ends at the beginning and end.
My late husband asked me to darn a couple of socks shortly after we got married. He said his mother always darned his socks. Mind you, these were normal store socks, not hand knits. So, I informed him that my way of darning socks would be to staple them!
OMG! Lovin All the beautiful knits!! Angi your father sounds like a character that we would all love to meet! Irene and Joyce I always enjoy seeing all the socks you both knit up and now your friend Angi will be knitting a pair or two herself 😂. Love your podcast always! ❤ Happy Holidays and enjoy your family for the festivities 🥳 See you all 3 next year!🎉
😂😂😂It has taken me most of the afternoon to ‘watch’ the podcast. Every time you present yet another gorgeous knit that you’ve done, I pause, go to Ravelry….and of course, see that pattern and proceed to go down a rabbit hole!😂 In the process, I have found many other great hats….. Snow Joy Hat; SnoWonder Hat; Snowy Polar Bear Hat; Mardi Gras Mitts; Bluebird Confection Hat; Tropical Shelby Hat;….OK, that should keep Angie busy for 10 minutes😂 Have a wonderful Holiday Season!❤
You gals crack me up! so fun! about colorwork ... the short answer ... I think I like it. I started the Burra Cowl KAL and managed about 6 inches. I got pretty overwhelmed, but, was enjoying it but realized it was just too much for a first time colorwork project. So I set it aside .... for now. I will try a simpler colorwork again. The Alaska hats Angie shared are amazing! Thank you so much for your fun podcast! til next year ... keep warm!
Angie you might like the pattern book called Knit the National Parks. Lots of color work. Your hats reminded me of this book. Merry Christmas ladies! 🤶🏻
Another wonderful episode! I have a number of new hat patterns in my library now! I do enjoy colorwork(other than the Burra Cowl-gave the entire project away to a friend)!😂 In most cases, colorwork is fun to watch the pattern develop. It is also fun to play with colors! Hope Queen Sandy has a speedy recovery. Happy Holidays ladies💖
Angi, Joyce and Irene; your podcast always puts a smile on my face and makes me chuckle….Irene, I love how your new pup crept in and tried to steal the show!😊Happy Holidays from Green Bay🎄
Thanks ladies for an awesome podcast! I love all the amazing projects and beautiful yarn. I started doing colorwork two years ago and intarsia last year. I am not good with intarsia. I am always trying to get better with colorwork. Wishing you and your families an amazing and memorable Christmas and New Year! Can’t wait to see you gals in the new year! ❤❤
I would love to knit a colorwork sweater, they are so beautiful! I have only done a hat in colorwork so a sweater makes me a little nervous! Irene, it was nice to "meet" you last night on the Tuesday Knit Chat. Love your podcast, you ladies are hilarious! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you for sharing all the wonderful projects, especially the beautiful sweaters! I love Angi’s Coffee Bean 🔥. I bought a kit for the Alaska Hat - hope to cast that on soon. But I didn’t know there was an Alaska Sweater 🤯
Love everything y’all knit ~ very inspiring! Irene, I knit that frog St. Patrick’s day weekend, her name is “Clover” and I said those legs & feet would be the death of me🤣 & never again! I love her, but anymore amigurmii will likely be crochet. Happy Holidays Ladies!
I really enjoy your episodes. Happy holidays to you all. I have never done stranded colourwork. I have the fear😨 . I have done mosaic and love it. Any year now I'll give it a go.
I’m fairly new to colourwork, but I’m working on a Spot Cowl and I think it’s looking pretty good, if I do say so myself! 😂. Thanks for another great podcast. I have The Cozy Knitter advent skein too, Irene. I’ve been knitting them every year since 2019. ❤
Angie your story made me miss my Dad. I also love colourwork and I am using both hand with colourwork. My main colour in right hand and contains colour in left hand. I knit English style.
Greetings Ladies, it was great seeing you and all of your knits. I love color work, but I need to improve my knitting; I have problems with rowing out, so that would be maintaining my tension. Also, I understand that we are not to catch floats in the same space below. I'll keep checking videos and articles to improve my skills. Thanks for the inspiration and I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season with your families. I look forward to seeing you next year. Happy Holidays & Happy New Year, too. Hugs, idaknits
Thank you so much for your support! I can’t tell how much that means to me😍 Such a cute puppy Irene❤️❤️❤️ Loved all the colors and the inspiration! Hugs from Denmark🤗
I love colorwork I’m weird in the way I do it I guess once I realized I have to just do it “my way” and not in the norm I made peace with it and went crazy doing it any time I can. I’m a “ thrower” and just knit and drop knit and drop etc. I tried to force myself to do 2 hands and struggled learned you just need to knit anyway that makes you happy
Angie - if you want to knit some hats a little “out of the box” take a look at Woolly Wormhead’s sideways knit hat collections. She has a few dozen designs in DK weight. I believe most of them have short rows. The “Elemental” collection is my favorite; I also like the “Inversion” and “Convergence” collections.
I love seeing all your knitting escapades! I’ve attempted to knit two small color work projects and it’s obvious to me that I need much more practice before I’m successful, but I’m thinking about trying a colorwork yoke sweater! Why not? 😂
I L O V E colorwork knitting. I’m currently knitting a mosaic pattern, Escher’s Dream Scarf, and it’s good, but not as good as colorwork. Hey ladies, I have man hands and cankles, so send your oversized mitts and socks to your honorary 4th-ply! Knit big or go home! Happy holidays!
All of your sweaters are beautiful! I do love colour work and I'm knitting on the Lunenburg Pullover at the moment. Just taking my time dropping one colour and picking up the next. Would like to try a Norwegian (thimble??) were all the colours are held in on the right side.
I have had the Burra Cowl pattern, since the knit along was announced. Haven't ventured into colorwork yet. It was suggested by Joyce to start my colorwork experience with something easier. I agree. Other projects just keep saying, "Me first." I enjoyed seeing you Christmas knits. I am wondering what Angie is making for co-workers this year? Use to seeing her creativity in tht area. Holiday Hugs!
Hi Girls. I'm okay with colorwork. I am actually working on a Strange Brew by Tin Can Knits right now and enjoying that. But I don't gravitate towards colorwork. I'd rather do texture. Thanks for your podcast!
Love the hats, Angie! Colorwork... I'm still new at it but the fussing with changing colors drives me crazy. I've done a couple of hats that have turned out okay and children's sweaters. For now, I'm taking a break from colorwork.
Angi, could you tell me if there is a pattern for the slipper socks you ate knitting for your dad? My brother would love them. He always says his ankles get cold.😊
