Im sorry for your daughter because Ip Ching died , i wanna meet them all but I won't have never the chance to see just Ip chun , if i see ip chun he will be at age of 100 or 102 years old
Grand Master yip Chun. Thanks for passing on your father's legacy. I'm sure he would very proud of you if he were still alive. This something very vital on our society.
Wow. Grandmaster IP chun is more than 90 years old and still in good health. When we think of a 90 yo we imagine an old man on a wheel chair. But IP chun is walking straight upright. Hats off to you sir.
@@Mr11ESSE111 idiot he is 95 years old. Send a 95 year old mma boxer to him. The boxer would fight his last. Even Muhammad ali could not walk in his last days
@@moazzamshahkhan174 idiot if he is 25 years old same thing will be too!! wtf he can do with stupid hand waveing here?? if somebody or his students kick him he would broke his arms or his stupid head just like yours too!! and idiot they talk here and we see here how young students go to him and cannot touch him!! but students dont attack him with full force because his defense will be for shit then and his bones on hand will be broken
why students wants to touch him at all??why they dont attack him for real or why they dont send some mma guy at him and we would see if he can touch and brake him !! of course that his stupid students would not touch him but who the fak care for hios stupid students?? aikido students cannot touch own "masters" too and other bullshito martial arts students doing same garbage too
Some things in life money simply can't buy. To still have his level of skill at his age is priceless. His hard work and dedication continues to bless another generation.
I am a wing Chun master now. But when GM Yip Chun was 72 yrs old. We sparred. And I couldn’t get in. His centerline was strong. And still is. Wow. After all these years.
I’m gonna learn wing chun along with panantukan ,and watching this is kinda emotional because the founder of taekwondo is cho Hong hi and he taught my grandmaster . I wish I can bow to him in person He has earned my huge respect ✊🏻
They'll be vegetables by their 50's. I watched an interview with Grandmaster Ip Chun at the age of 91 or 92, he is still sharp as a tac. As you see in this video, quite active a s aware of his students movements. Incredible
yeep this is the beauty of traditional Chinese kung fu : you preserve yourself and you are still active untill old age.... Because you transform you energy, you dont waste it.... Modern martial arts make you weak after a while.....
First of all bruce lee only trained 4 years with ipman an the person who traine bruce lee was ipman but mainly ipmans student Wong Shun Leung witch was called "king of talking hands" bruce lee did do something that people rember it for is that he taught wing chun to foreign people and that made wing chun becou known in america and also tru out some of his movies. There are much better practitioneerd than bruce lee at wing chun. Like Chu chong tin, wong shun leung, william cheung, leung tin. All those hat a full train by ipman and that for mostly more than 10 years. Bruce lee never learned the wooden dummy form or the 6th foot pole. Well not from ip man. Its crazy everyone gives bruce lee as the best student of ip man and that is actually untrue. People like wong shun leung would kick the living hell out of bruce lee at that period in time. He did become better wen he crwated jeet kun do witch takes many principles out of wing chun.
@@azulthor2325 wel the thing is that bruce still trained in wing-chun and many other styles for I believe 6years with fook yeung in seattle. At the end of his carreer wsl and bl had a sparring match when discussing different ideas which wan kam leung witnessed and he could more than hold his own. What sets bruce appart is that he knew wing chun's context which many practitioners today don't. reflex wise there are 2: 1. sight range 2. touch sensitivity range In the first range you are able to move all your weight out of the line of attack through sight. In the second range the distance is too short to use your eye sight and a moving arm will be faster than moving your whole body out of line, which is why you depend on your sensitivity. Bruce became so good at the sight/distance game he didnt need to trap anymore. But I agree the ip man was bruce's teacher stuff is so untrue. shure he was at ipmans school but wsl trained him at his house for 2hours everyday after school because bruce wasnt full chinese ipman was forced to not let bruce train there anymore. The impact wsl had on all of this is so underrated
I was of that lineage when I studied Kung Fu, but we never had that kind of hands-on, seizing and grappling (Chin Na) class work. Beautiful video of a masterful, true, martial arts, defense-oriented, timeless, Kung Fu practitioner. Thanks.
I love this family.ip man & his son ip chun is very professional masters. I love him and his dad ip man. They are symbol of kung fu in the world.big like from iran.
@@MarioG306 maybe not much inside a sport perspective (with rules and etc)... but in a everything goes situation it is very lethal, if the person learned well how to apply the knowledge in a practical way ( wing chun possess 2 different situations, the form for training and showing purposes, and the other is the ugly but practical version of the same technique for u to use in the real thing)
@ramazan tanbi I see you hate on Wing Chun and it's practical use a couple of times in the comment section, so tell me, how many fights have you been in? If you have, what style do you use?
Ip Chun looks amazingly alive for 94. Still doing Chi Sau. Part of his muscle memory now. Or decades ago. :) The chance to train with direct decendants of the Grand master Ip Man...invaluable training and valueable footage. . No matter what you may think about the effectiveness or WC in real situations in the street or against "experienced" fighters....got to respect this man. Master Ip Chun. So many gave up on life decades earlier. Let their health fail bodies degenerate...
I've found wing chun very effective for me, the reason it's seen as ineffective is cause people focus too much on the beauty of the techniques. They pay no attention to application, how to apply it in a real world situation and when. Thus the problem isn't in the arts, but the users. Otherwise it wouldn't exist right? Ip Chun embodies that spirit, could swear he was only in his 70s. Envy his students a bit, would be nice to learn and interact with a direct descendant
Sorry you feel that way ramazan tanbai but I was referring to that within this training moment of lap sau the master shows his true skill. His student never once gets inside his guard. He is demonstrating this for his student.
ramazan tanbi Wing Chun has been a tad bit diluted in the past couple of years, I can assure you if any one were to cross the wing chin masters from 1890-1980 I can assure you that will lose.
fascinating and extraordinary.. 92 years old , just sparring for fun and his student couldnt even get past those great wall of china guards of his.. beautiful to say the least. Wing Chun in its most pure nature
This was absolutely great to see. Sifu Ip Chun still so active at this age. The wealth of knowledge this man must have must be amazing. Thank you for this video.
A great reminder that yes, martial arts are great to defend your life, but more importantly to keep your life longer in your mind, in your body and in your soul.
The quiet reverence that The Martial Man has for all forms of martial art is beautiful. It's one of the many reasons why I'll keep returning to this channel and learning from all of these Masters.
I did some chi sau with Yip chun in London in 1998 when I was training in wing chun. So I guess he was in his early 70s. Still had power in his hands and great form.
Hats off to Grand Master Ip. It was an honour to see him train, even if only on my screen. Thank you for this film, Martial Man, may the spirits of all great warriors guide you through your life. :)
Haha at 225lbs with both a heavy weight boxing and mma career I would like to see that surprise. Matter a fact I would let your master hit as hard and as many times as he would like. You "mate" believe in magic and that ruined a whole generation of martial artists.
The seer101. Wing chun is a killing art while mms is only a sport that does get physical. Most people don't know true wing chun the ones they show are watered down.
Remember when he shot a video of his dad doing wing chun demos? Now, he's the one with the video of himself doing a demo. The legacy remains. Magnificent.
South China Post did a video covering this guy 10 years before this one, and a decade later and almost 100, he was still throwing hands Thanks for everything, Master Ip
Thanks for sharing this. It's quite amazing seeing a legacy live on through the son of Grandmaster Ip. I love seeing it. At 94 years old, has still sharp and aware. You can see him read his students movements. Long live the Ip legacy. They contributed so much to the world of Martial Arts.
It is simply amazing to see Ip Chun at his age still has amazing dexterity to continue the Wing Chun legacy his father bestowed him and his brother, I'm humbled by this video.
Grandmaster passing on his wisdom and time served knowledge to the younger generation. That is the purpose of this- To Keep the spirit of Wing Chun Alive for Generations to come
I have seen key board warriors making fun of wing Chung & Tai chi...saying things like martial artists will lose out to MMA etc..it's not always about fighting... martial arts is a life long learning...it's mind...body & spirit..it's for fight , defense and also healing ...it's for keeping your faculties intact till your last breath.. Respect !!
In asian countries elders are respected. We show respect to our elders, because we know they have lived more than us and has much more wisdom us. This kind of practice also aplies to brother, father, sister, strangers etc. And we call strangers as sir/maam, as a sign of respect. In japanese brother/sister is called onichan, in filipino big brother/sister we call them kuya/ate etc.... In western countries? I dont know why, some children in the west calls their parents with their first name. That is utterly disrespectful
The elders there act with maturity and sacrifice for Younger generations not like American baby boomers who say I want to be happy and an willing to heart anyone
Grandmaster Ip Chun is our sifu and it's nice that he's featured here. Thanks! By the way, we explain some traditional Wing Chun techniques we do in Hong Kong here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x7xVyLu_9QY.html
