95 C1500 2/4 Drop

Wanted to readjust my ride height. All though it does look a lot nicer at the 4/6 drop, I did not like the ride when I would have to load something on the back of the truck. Gave me another reason to put more work into her anyways lol. Hope yall enjoy the video and feel free to comment if you have any questions on how this was done!

Ey man this helped a lot I got my own 97 and I couldn’t find no 2/4 kit installations then you showed up so really made me feel more confident about dropping it

React 2 inch drop spindals help bring those front tires back to the original track width too I’m the the process of getting a set stuff I didn’t know when I orderd belltech ones

I just bought a 92 1500 regular cab and I just ordered a 2/4 drop kit. Ive been looking at those exact rims for a while now and thinking about doing 20x8.5 in the front and 22x10.5 in the back. What would you recommend? I like the low flush stance it has with the wheels and I feel like a 2/4 might still set a little higher than I would like.

You might be able to use the same rear kit I did but just use a 4 inch lowering shackle instead and you should be back to flush height on both front and rear (only if you stick with 22 inch rims on the rear). If you don't use a 4 inch lowering shackle then you will just have the rear sitting up higher (which I personally don't like) But it all goes down what you like bro. If you don't care to much about using your bed and going more for looks then go for the 4/6 drop. It will look a lot nicer just more stiffer ride.

Early in the video you pointed out that the front and rear wheels are staggered. What size front and rear tire & wheel set up are you running?

245/45 in the front and 275/40 on the rear brother (20 inch rims all the way around, rear wheels are deeper dish)

@@SUPSGARAGE Thank you. That info is VERY helpful. I'm contemplating a 2"or3"F/4"R drop with 255/55R18 on 18x8.5 +0 for my 90 Std Cab; hoping the extra sidewall keeps the ride pretty mild. But damn the staggered 20's on a deeper drop look tight. Have you considered rear disc brake conversion? That was one of my first mods and I'm loving it.

Hey bro so for a 2/4 drop what kind of shocks do I need regular length or shorter? Can u u provide the part numbers for the ones u got?

You need shorter ones brother I only have the part number for the rears (BEL-2212IF) but if you contact summit racing they will tell you everything you need and I would get shock extensions for the rear for a better ride comfort.

So my truck already had 2 inch drop spindles bro so I did not want it any lower then that in the front so all I had to do is put STOCK springs to give me the 2 inch drop I was wanting. Were before I had 2 inch drop springs and my 2 in drop spindles which was the 4 inch drop it had. Did this answer ur question?

I did the 2/2 drop last week but wanna even out the back. So I ordered drop hangers to give me an additional 2 inches in the back. Did you need pinion shims?

I didn't have to use any kind of shims bro but curious why would you need them?

@@SUPSGARAGE if you lower your truck enough it throws off your pinion angle where the drive shaft enters the differential. Some trucks handle it better but some lowering rotates the axle so you have to shim it to be in spec when you tighten everything down. Otherwise at high speeds you could get vibration and premature wear. I haven’t installed mine yet to tell you a personal experience. But it’s good you didn’t need any. Lol

2/4 drop should be fine brother. A 3/4 drop might make it look uneven.

You should use new U bolts for the rear leaf springs.

@@SUPSGARAGE Because, used bolts are stretched and become fatigued after many years of use. It's no different than any other fastener used on an engine. I'm in process of redoing the suspension on my 91 Chevy stepside and ordered new U bolts for the rear, they don't cost that much.😎

I installed stock size springs but its because I already had 2 inch drop spindles on my truck (to get the 2 inch drop I wanted in the front) and yes I also installed 2 inch drop shackles along with the 2 inch drop hangers to make a total 4 inch drop on the rear brother.

@@robertcarlos78 what ever size drop shackle you put is the drop it will give you. I believe they only have 3 inch drop shackles and 2 inch drop shackles, I could be wrong. If you call summit racing they will give you all your options depending how low you wanna go for brother.
