My dad is 79 and he remembers everything especially combines. He grew up running horses to pull seeding equipment but they had 2 massey 21 combines and then he went to a massey harris 90 special then a cockshutt combine then a gleaner m2 then a case ih 1660 then the case ih 7120 came along and it was mind blowing for him. Seeding went from horses and diskers to an old massey 401 and a 10 ft disker then went to case 800 with a 15 ft disker to a 930 case wiith a 15 ft disker to a 1370 with 30 feet of john deere diskers then a 4494 with 30 feet of JD diskers to 36 feet of massey ferguson diskers with the 4494 and now to 51 ft and 380 bu cart of new holland air drill. I hope i get to see as much as my dad saw in his life

Thanks for the comment and watching the video. It was a great honor for me to make almost 40 videos with Ralph Robertson that I filmed over a two year period. Since his passing in December they have been a surge in his video views here on RU-vid. The series was first posted a few years back on Facebook but at that time the RU-vid Channel only had about 2k subscribers. Now that I’m at over 100k subs “The Greasy Hollow Memories” videos have found a whole new audience.. Come along with me to Greasy Hollow, Tennessee and meet a real Appalachian storyteller that became a living legend. Below is a link to the Greasy Hollow Memories series if you would like to watch more. John Ward ru-vid.com/group/PLhiXVG-s0EOmwKTuG8AZ4_qRBG88DxNtL

My Dad had the exact same tractor. A 1950 Farmall C with narrow front end. As a boy I spent many hours on that tractor raking hay, spreading manure, working ground, etc. He sold it in 2001 for more money than he paid for it! Good memories.
@WJV9
@WJV9 Год назад
I think Ralph's Farmall is an 'H' bigger than a 'C'. My dad had a John Deere model 'B' which was similar in HP and size to a Farmall model 'H', would pull a 2 bottom plow and a 8' tandem disk and 2 row cultivator. We farmed 120 acres with the John Deere 'B'. It did ok but it strained it to run the model 12A combine, a lot of PTO power required and would have helped to have a live PTO like the newer Model 50/60 John Deere tractors.
