King Karl is the patriarch of Arthur's Acres Animal Sanctuary. He is a big, lovable, leader of the whole farm. Today, Dr. Doug Willen, Animal Chiropractor, gives King Karl a much needed tune-up in the form of a head-to-hoof chiropractic adjustment. How do you adjust a 950lb pig? Just watch! Lots of fun.
Two years ago, there was a post on Farm Sanctuary's Facebook page: "looking for a home for a big beautiful 10-year-old breeder pig named Karl (920 pounds).
He was used for breeding and was never allowed outside. A pig used for breeding, is usually sold to slaughter when they are deemed no longer useful, so it is very rare that someone would release a pig like Karl.
Today King Karl is the King of the Farm and at 12 years old and 950 lbs of healthy weight, he may be King for a long, long time.
Dr. Doug gives King Karl and all-around check up. His neck, back and his pelvis, too.
