Just wanted to apologize in advance for the audio quality. I did not know it would be this poor when I recorded it. I recovered it as best I could.

Pretty good for real world filming on the fly. I could understand it all, anyway.

I don't have my R5 7600X quite dialed in yet, I occasionally hear the case fans ramp up, sometimes it seems just downloading a game or update. I think the Noctua NH D15 keeps it fairly cool running 3D Mark. Hang on, I'll run Timespy to refresh my memory. Edit- levels out at 73°c during the CPU test in Timespy Extrene.

Having seen content from Wendell it doesnt look like the 7600X is able to pull enough power to hit the cap die to the 6 cores across 2 CCD's (I believe).

@@TheProfosist yeah, that makes sense. If I'm understanding correctly, an inadequate cooler will limit performance but shouldn't cause damage to the CPU, since it's intended to sit at 95°c anyway. An NH D15 on a 7950X probably won't allow it to reach max frequency, but it won't shorten its lifespan, either. Yeah? Think I'm going to hop in the BIOS and give the fixed fanspeed a try, consistant fan speed, consistant noise, consistant load on the fan bearings, etc. But I don't generally go for silence-focused builds, more industrial and airflow.

"Inadequate" cooler would limit turbo boot performance. I think its should do base and even standard turbo on a "stock" cooler. These X series will boost kinda like a modem GPU can. If they have enough cooling and enough power they'll go faster. AMD kinda had to do that with Intel completely removing their turbo limit timer on their K chips on Z motherboards. Non X chips that just launched dont seem to do this so if youre air cooling thats what id point the average user to. Save a bunch of money too.
