96-Year-Old Athlete Smashes Sprinting Records

A 96-YEAR-OLD sprinter has rolled back the years by setting a new British record in the 100 and 200 metres. Dr Charles Eugster ran a time of 23.78 seconds in the M-95 (males aged 95 or over) category at the British Masters at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, on Saturday July 25. He then followed that up with a record-breaking 57.27 seconds in the 200m on the Sunday - 0.8 seconds faster than his time last year. The high-octane OAP already holds the world record in the M-95 category for 200m indoors, which he set at the British Masters Championships in Lee Valley earlier this year and bettered in Poland at the European Championships.

He's amazing! Here in Stockholm (Sweden) we have a couple of exercising groups for people over 90 and 100! It's so inspiring to see these really old people working out like there is no tomorrow. I think it's great!

strengthens my beliefs and lifts my spirit seeing this senior in tip top condition at such an old age. i myself have old parents, born in 1948 and -46 and ive often come across the thought of my especially my mother loosing her ability to move effortlessly. i mean how else is she to have dinner ready whenever im back from the gym? god bless

My parents both exercise and lift weights...in their mid 70s. They put me to shame lol. They are in great shape, healthy and stay on the go. I'm so proud of them. I believe I need to step it up 😁

Retirement kills physically and mentally reminds me of my from 2002-2021 as I'm here on the other side of my college graduation of eight graduated semesters May 23, 2019 here where in pursuing the USA masters plans to do so once getting to this status quo of a college graduate ever since I won the high school city track and field championship when a freshman in high school. In putting up the time come competing at this high level there is the pandemic, the pending of my college degrees, my housing, my job applications, my transportations, and my date life in comprehending that this is the norm for this high level of competition! 2-3 times a week I go for a brisk ten mile walk … or rather a 9 mile walk … I finish up with a mile run. When I feel like it I then sprint for a hundred metres or so … a free-flowing "fast" sprint. I'm doing this to keep myself fit. I'm having dialysis 3 times a week 'cos my kidneys have failed (eGFR 6-7 … that's ""End-stage" kidney failure). I'm also "moderately" anaemic … Haemoglobin level 99 g/l (lower normal for a man is 135 g/l). So … how old am I? I'm 77 (seventy seven). My consultant has not yet seen me other than when I'm attached to a dialysis machine … so I've made an appointment with her at her office so I can prove to her that my statements about how fit I am are true. She's a "looking fit" 40-ish "young woman" … so maybe she won't "freak out" and tell me that I'll "hurt myself" when I start "dancing around" her office.

The enamel wears away in old age, and if you use a toothbrush a lot, it wears away even more, and the calcium demineralizes out and they start to turn translucent. Then the dentin and pulp shows through as yellow. It's not that his teeth aren't clean; they are turning transparent and what's underneath ain't pretty. Also, some vegetable pigments are exceptionally persistent and non-fading; tea and coffee can also be stubborn. A lot of that stuff even resists peroxide treatment. As a child, he may have grown up in a low-fluoride area, and in those days nobody knew anything about fluoride protection.
