Snyder most likely feels only a bit sorry for his opponent, nothing more. Canada sent their second best to face Snyder(not that anyone else could change the outcome). The venue and event is the closest thing to a "card" as you get in wrestling. Snyder souped him to wow the crowd, some bread crumbs of entertainment.
Can't imagine that Snyder is the type to throw the guy out of spite, I really think he was just tryna put on a show for the crowd. Really anything these guys do to make these big matches more interesting to watch will help the sport.
