When I was 8 playing baseball, I wanted to be pitcher so bad. I hated playing outfield. I begged coach to let be try pitching. He let me. I hit the first three players and never wanted to pitch again.

@@ArtVandelay1996 Lol. 316 first half but after injury and playing on loan to the Cubs I really thought I was well on my way. I used to be right there with guys like Julio Franco, Mel Hall (Sad to recently hear his story) and Carmello Martinez. I'd hit .454 in college after quiting, but was blessed to get a taste and meet my hero Frank Robinson and get compliments about my swing from Harmon Killebrew, Eddie Matthews and a few players who would make it to "The Show". The late "Pistol" Pete Maravich gave me the best advice when I met him and his Dad while I was assisting him in a tour... He joked one day and said I should have been a first round pick but he asked jokingly the last time I spoke with him "So, how much money did THAT cost you (because I played drums, football and basketball instead of focusing one my love for baseball like he did in basketball). I was and am blessed, Leonardo. I had the chance that millions have dreamed of and can tell you it was worth more than money could buy. Be happy and prosper. Thanks for asking!

His stance is too wide causing him to be a little off balanced! It causes him to make excessive movements to regain his balance before delivering! That creates a Balk movement!!! Bringing the left foot in/closer to the right foot will give himself improved balance and eliminate that excessive movement!!!

You don’t start out at 97. You catch in the little league, high school, etc. If you’re catching a 97 mph fastball, you have caught so much, it is not a big deal.

Now think about all that have come thru the system, all that never make it to the big leagues, but flash that talent, all the other great athletes that play other sports just not baseball, all the upcoming kids not only in America but in countries all around the world. There are certainly more than 100 people in the world that can make that throw and all you saw from this guy on this video is make one pitch. Accuracy describing a pitcher counts only when it is continually and consecutively repeatable.

I dont know anything about pitching, but it looks like a weird, yet very stable delivery. Is that what a normal delivery looks like from this angle? When you see the way he winds up and throws, it looks like he couldn't miss his target. Everything is going exactly straight towards the spot he wants to throw

I caught my first game at 30 yrs old, kid was 24yrs old throwin heat, 90-94 at best. After the game my hand was black and blue 😂

That sound of the ball popping the glove is one of the four most satisfying sounds in sports. The others being a loud crack of a ball off the bat, a slapshot going bar down, and a nothing but net jump shot.

It won’t hurt, i Play baseball and i’m a Catcher myself, If you catch it wrong it’ll hurt but they have a special catchers glove and they practice a lot. A catchers glove has a lot of patting and layers in it so they almost don’t feel a thing. Don’t worry! They are fine :D

Couple of observations. First, impressive, second holding a runner on that rocker seems like a dream to a base stealer, third major league hitter can hit an f15 if they see it a few times. I’m sure he has other pitches so movement is better than speed especially when the hitter is sitting and timing that rocker move.

This is just a drill and would not be legal in a game setting. And he's a big leaguer who threw fairly well last season.

What's ironic is that most hitters can not only see this & react in time, but crush it as well, where as off speed pitchers. sliders, sinkers, & curves not so much. My boy when in high school hit upper 60's with few hits, while the stars gave up home runs with high 80"'s & low 90's. He had one pitch with a lil movement that forced grounders & pop ups. He had no idea what caused it. Mariano Rivera had a cutter that was natural as well, but when he had to trouble shoot, he couldn't, so he stopped thinking & boom it came back. it's all about muscle memory & finding your balance.

Bro that stance is the best.. YOUNG PITCHERS LOOK AT HIM.. you don’t need a 10 second wind up. There’s a few pitchers doing that in the mlb. But it not enough. That stance will safe you from. Getting the pitch Read. Stamina. And many more. Also this is perfect if you learn the. Fastball. Splitter. Knuckleball, 2seam fastball

Only thing I say for improvement is your follow through...that right leg needs to be planted, not swinging. Control that without changing your movements, and you will throw harder while being ready.... just in case the ball gets hit right back at you like a honing missile 😊
