Ha i'll be go to hell. I just replaced my spider with the new mfi (multiport fuel injection) and was great for 3 weeks then bam crazy shake and black and gray smoke then fff hydrolock, but now i know how to diagnose mine. Thank you sir
I just replaced injector network on a 98 k1500 5.7. Previously installed 2 years earlier. #5 & #7 injectors were installed in the wrong intake port...Owner said that it ran good for awhile after the previous install, wtf? How so?
Honestly I was gonna change mine out but I’m just thinking about putting that money towards the 5.3 swap. It seems like these motors don’t have an up side
ACDelco parts are the worst of all of them now, O'Reilly is a close second. Too bad GM finally ruined that name too, just like every other brand name they have left.
Check you ground if it is not ground all the way it will burn pumps up I had one in a s10 it went through 3 before I found out about it it didn't make it run bad or anything and it burned them up one a week put ground new fixed it and I had seen it happen before that on another truck.
I’m thinking I have the same problem. 97 model Silverado 4.3 Done changed everything but that it seems like. Cranks up fine in morning. Cut it right off an try again an just spin over. Push the pedal all the way to the floor an it will bust off. Not really for sure if that’s it tho???
Probably so. The only way I could get this to start was to holding the pedal down. What got me here was I could smell a lot of fuel out the butterfly valve.
I have a 97 blazer an have changed everything in it. It will not start unless I prime it then fire right up but ever time I turn it off I have to prime it then it will start an I have everything new to do with the fuel part. Any ideas Thxs
What were the symptoms it was causing? I recently did this conversion on my 96 K2500 with a vortec 5.7, and l'm having some problems. It runs great and very smooth while it's moving, but when it's stopped I'm having issues. I keep getting a P0174 and P0171 code, which means bank 1 and 2 are lean. It also hesitates when accelerating from a stop, and shakes a lot when stopped when the ac turns on. It has never stalled or anything, and once it's going down the road it's fine, but there is definitely a problem. When I clear the the codes with a scanner they do go away, but eventually the cel will come back on the dash at any given point, usually while going down the road. Any help is appreciated.
Sounds like something with the evap system, seems that more vapors are being dumped in the motor, when going it burns them, but when stopped it is getting flouded. Maybe purge or canister
@@MyNameGoesHere___ in one of the ports I believe there are 2 blow air through one the smaller port, it should blow air out the bigger port. If it doesn't usually it is bad, Aldo I replaces my mom's spider injector system on her blazer and it fixed the issue. It was sputtering when hitting the gas. It had a bad fule regulator but I went ahead and replaces the injector system. The whole assembly is under the intake.
On my 98 Silverado it keeps showing p0122 I’ve changed it and changed the hole spider 2 times and it keeps hesitating turn on dosent shut off but when I do accelerate it hesitates
Yes, as well as a leaking injector. Watch for pressure drop immediately after turning key off, after priming. Pinch off the retun line (under the truck) & see if the pressure still drops. If it does, then the inj assy is leaking. If not, pinch the supply line after priming, if it stays consistent then, its a leaking check valve in the fuel pump.
I keep getting a misfire on cylinder 5. I took to a mechanic and they swapped the entire spider. It was running a lot smoother after that, but only for a couple of months and just recently the misfire came back. Any suggestions?
Not really. number 5 is kinda in the open. You don't wanna hear this but sometimes those nozzles can come out. It may not be seated in position and not spraying very well in that cylinder.
@@JamesSmith-xs7sr thanks, I was able to figure out the problem, turns out the spark cable was touching the manifold, and nicked it, replaced all cables and the misfire was gone. Thanks for the info anyway.
Do I need my distributor cap and other electrical connected to do this I think I have a bad regulator too cuz I replaced tons of shit but still only get 48 psi on the rail
Use a scan tool to perform an injector drop test, with pressure gauge attached. Each injector drop should be around 13 lbs. You can only to 1 test per injector test sessiom, then exit test, crank over engine, repeat if necessary. if the regulator is leaking, you can look into the throttle body for fuel an injector/regulator leak OR fuel pump check valve can cause pressure loss, if pressure is dropping after key on, pump prime.
Does anyone know if this would cause your engine to seize or even drain the battery? It seems to be doing that every time i turn it on. I have a 4.3 v6 97 c1500. My daily driver, it just got me from point a to b with very low voltage then died. Replaced the alternator and starter but nothing is happening. Plz help
sir I have a 2008 chevy express1500 4.3 6 cylinder, when I strat something sound make like a metal stalling, chya..chya..chya , and engine is not asmooth whining. yesterday I cleaned throttle body but still the same problem, what could be the problem, can you share your experience if you don't mind 🙏
I have 4 cylinders that are getting flooded and misfires, 2 on each side closest to the fire wall. I've done everything I can to fix the misfire, and I took the spark plugs out that I changed a few months back the back two are soaked in gas. It's running rough and super rich, would this be the problem I'm looking for, maybe close to it?
@@modestic1604 no it was easy to install and I have a friend that needs one. He ask for a price on autozone they ask around $350 for it so I’m going to take him to get one this coming week.
