How many Christians have even heard of Arius, the Vandal Invasion of Africa, or what the Bizantines called Arianism? What if Arius was not a heretic priest but a persecuted true follower of the original religion of God, as brought forward by Jesus? Why is there a radical difference between King Geiseric and King Canstantine, in terms of fundamental matters of dogma? The very purpose of the Council of Nicaea was to present a unified version of a belief system and getting rid of any other ideologies. Later every monotheistic follower of Jesus would be persecuted by the followers of the concept of trinity, which was propulsed by political power, for political power. If you are a political leader who want to gather the Christians and become king, you would think of having one and only view of Christianity...that was why politics needed at some point a unified Christian belief. You want to compare that to the Quran? I have studied Arabic and all those remarques presented as issues are just exaggeration of the difference between the early writings and the newer writings. When the speaker says that in Surah 3, verse 158 adding a letter changes the meaning to the opposite, that is not even true. With early Arabic writing (even in writings that predated the life of Muhammad) there was a concept of omission. Imagine if you produce a manuscript and that you omit the dot whenever you write the lowercase "i". Does that affect the meaning at all? That does not disqualify the Quran from being the word of God, you need a more serious proof. Paul was an open enemy of the believers of his time, a mass murderer, later a student of Peter with whom he disagreed on many issues. He followed the path of simplifying religion to the point where everything can be done just with the Holy spirit, alone, so there is no need to circumcise boys (like Jesus himself was), no need to be baptized (and prophet Jesus was baptized by prophet John), no need to fast (like the Jews, Jesus and all the prophets) no need to make prayers. When you see a photo of them making the prayer in their praying place, you would think that those are Muslims making the prayer in the mosque. There much more similarity between the Samaritans (Followers of Moses) and Muslims, in terms of rituals, belief, jurisdiction, and even the dress code... Paule did not care about the fact Jesus was reaffirming, confirming, broadening the teachings of Moses, that he did what Moses taught, and that he made the prayer the way Moses did... Paul said "no need for deeds"... Constantine liked the idea, the followers of the real Jesus were persecuted by other Christians this time and not by pagan Romans. It is because these Latin letters are not designed for English and in Old English, there was one specific letter for the first sound and another letter for the second. Let me tell you that in Arabic, there are diacritic signs (that are not letters but are added to the letters) and that tell how that one letter should be pronounced. As in Hebrew, Amazigh Language (North Africa), Aramaic, Syriac, ...in Arabic, there is no exact equivalent of the vowel letters we use in European languages. Arabs do not need that to read any text, but in the time of Uthman specifically, there was many Amazigh people (Berbers), Persians, Kurds...who were Muslim an struggled reading the same text that is absolutely easy to read for Arabs. That is why Uthman (who was mentioned in this video) ordered a group of scholars to write the Quran in a standardized way of writing that allows Arabs and non-Arabs to read it correctly. He did not do that by himself but gathered a committee. How does this compare to the story of Paul?

The Arabs did exactly that when a bunch of scholars were gathered by Uthman to accomplish the task. At that time there were non-Arabs who wanted to read the Quran. The speaker on this video calls himself a Christian then what he talks about is how Muslims of today are proud that they have the word of God. Then he presents a few futile remarques about the history of the manuscripts. He did not even try to make the claim that he thinks the Quran is not the word of God but he goes on with details about the early Quran books. That is a dangerous approach because the role of a Christian is to be a good Christian and not attack anyone else. Muslims believe that Jesus received the word of God {as well as certain other prophets did) but the church does not have a book that contains solely the word of God. So the speakers criticizes the way the Arabs changed a little symbol in the caligraphing of the word of God, whereas the early followers of Jesus did not write the world of God at all. Of course the Jews would not do it too because they rejected Jesus and did not accept his claim to be the Messiah. Compare the followers of Jesus of the third century A.D with the Muslims of the third century Hijri. Which of the two groups was confused about religion and dogma? Probably the teachings of Jesus were not recorder, or preserved, for the fact that his own people rejected him. I am not saying that he was not the real Messiah, but I am saying that the reaction of the Jews caused very much loss. I don't know this guy's credentials as a scholar, but the New Testament WAS edited: It came in the form of scribes (who copied the available texts long before Gutenberg) that made changes to the texts they copied for a variety of reasons. Sometimes changes were logistical: Make the text fit the scroll of papyrus on which it is being copied. Sometimes the changes were editorial: Improve the narrative, vis a vis the scribe who was doing the copying (read: I think I can improve the story here, let me just add this little part). Sometimes, Church authorities purged texts to propagate theological views (Google/read Elaine Pagels). So, I don't dismiss his central thesis - actually, the historical formations of texts seems to be quite universal: As a religion grows and codifies itself (for whatever reason - think of the Jewish religion after the destruction of the Temple), there is a lot at stake to promote whatever view will help the faith grow and survive. This is not bad; the believers were just that. Their intentions were the absolute best.

Since we are speaking facts then get your facts straight first. 8:35 when the speaker said two of the verses were memorized by one person only; that's the farthest thing from the truth. It was memorized by multiple of the prophet's (PBUH) companions including Zaid Bin Thabet, who was responsibe by Abu Bakr to collect all the verses, but he didn't want to rely just on memory so he sought written text and there was only one person that had it written. Mind you that was only 2 verses out of thousands of verses. All of the other verses had written proof as well as they were memorized by many of the companions. And if you care to read the Quraan, the scientific breakthroughs in it that were mentioned 1400+ years should serve to enlighten you to the nature and source of that magnificent divine book.

I wish people could see my life I'm a Christian and have been born and raised with every religion, have followed gods commandments as set by moses and have lived a very happy prosperous (not money though) life in total unity. There were still many memorizers left after the battle of YAMAMA . Hafsah 'Quran was checked and rechecked against the original memorizers and A new copy was written with the dialectical marks . This was to ensure that NON ARAB Muslims who did not know the Arabic language don't read the Quran wrongly and pass down the wrong recitation and meaning to the following generations. Don't forget that all the 4 caliphs were huffaz(memorizers of the Quran) from the time of the Prophet Muhammad till their own death. Furthermore the Quran was being memorized since the time of the Prophet till this day.. We have about 11 Million Quranic memorizers today conservatively. We also have several verified authentic manuscripts that date back to the time of the Prophet.

Is there any scientific evidence that the Quran has not been changed at all? Have you hear children sing a song with a good rhyme? They memorise it very easily if you keep repetitively play the song for the children. Well this is not only happen to children but also to adults, you remember the perfect lyrics of a song not only because the good rhyme they have, but also the emotion, empathy that you got from the content of the lyrics, well the melody sometimes also helps. Now this is the style of the Qur’an, it is easy to memorise not only for children but also for adult, even more easier if you have spiritual and emotional relationship with the statement in it. Nowadays, every devoted muslims definitely memorise some parts of the qur’an. I my self memorise almost 3% of it, just simply with almost no efforts. Why? Because in our daily prayers (3 times a day at least) the leader of the prayer will repeatedly read the qur’an loudly. You might think, that the priest read the bible loudly but we never memorise them easily. That is one of the specialities of the Qur’an, we memorise it so easily. Well of course, some people can memorise much more than others but in general the simple chapter will be so easy to memorise. Right now, some survey found out every single muslim, even if he is clearly not practising muslim, he will definitely will know a person who memorise the qur’an. As the muslims who memorise the qur’an are abundant. Therefore, even if you or we burn all the printed books of the qur’an, it can be reproduced back to the original version and printed again without any problem by recollecting all of the memory of the people who memorise it, and correcting each other if there are differences. This is the way Qur’an is preserved. So the printed version never ever been used by the muslims to preserve the Qur’an. It just printed to help us navigate and learn about it especially for the beginners. While among the people who completely memorise the whole qur’an,they have a strong tradition to recheck (muroja’ah) of their memory of qur’an by read it loudly among themselves and correcting each other for one month each year, which is in the month of ramadhan. This method of preservation is already in place since the beginning of the revelation, the prophet Muhammad will gather all the companions (they are already hundreds of them) to recheck their memory of Qur’an and correcting them if there are something difference or wrong. This is happens in Ramadhan, the whole month dedicated for this every year, for almost 10 years. Meanwhile, many of them are also write it down on pieces that they could get. But none of them wrote the whole qur’an in book, despite from early time Qur’an is already called the kitab (literally means Book). While they feel, it is unnecessary to do that cause most of them memorise the whole qur’an by heart already. However, after the prophet passed away. Abu Bakr fight a war with some groups or arabs, and in several cases many of the people who memorise the qur’an are died. Well, it was recorded around 70s died while many at least hundreds still alive. Umar propose to Abu Bakr to collect all the pieces where qur’an was wrote down as a complete book. Zaid did this Job, and he said (very famously) that this is the last piece where he found only to one person. Remember this is only the piece in written form, while the lyrics it self already memorise by many of them, or if you want to argue, at least the story itself already clear out that at least two person recognize and agree on it, Zaid and the Owner of that piece. English in america, england, scottland, wales, and Ireland are all english but with different dialect. They understand each other in most cases, and the language still quickly and easily exchange between the natives. Qur’an was recited by the prophet in 7 different dialect of arabs. However, Umar did ask Zaid for the second time to rewrite all pieces into one compelling book and write it down in Quraish dialect. Afterwards, Uthman made five copies of that single copy made on the age of Abu Bakr and Umar and spread it out to many areas of the caliphate while instructing any other piece or copies must be destroyed cause it will cause confusion. On this dialect version of qur’an remain with the muslims until today. How about the other dialect? Well we actually still have those qur’an on other dialect, and some of the people that memorise the qur’an they manage to memorise the complete qur’an in those seven dialects. And we know already that there are no significant difference in meaning between those dialects of qur’an. So in the end of the day, I don’t know if all of these stories will provide evidence. Of course there are some extremists, but if you always bring them to discussion then you’ll never finish discuss everything. Lastly, that is the fact, that all muslims has no big disputes about the actual “lyric” of the qur’an and they can reproduce it even if no printed copies left for them to refer to and this way of preservation already in place since the first time qur’an recited.. And There's an estimate of more than 150 million people who have memorized Quran completely and our 6 years old kid memorized even though his language is not Arabic. Your bible scriptures have more than 70 books and The Bible has been translated from Greek manuscripts. While the translation may be excellent, there is a problem: what are the limits of interpretation or interpolation of the translation compared to the limitations in the Greek, then to Aramaic?Since the Bible is not in the language that Jesus spoke, there has been human intervention in the Bible and it's changed. Therefore you wont find any happily ever afters and these kind of things. Words do repeat many times - if you read surah Arrahman for example, you will see the purpose of reapeted words without me needing to explain it, its a really short surah, definitely check it out.

What's funny is that the state of the Quran is even more shaky. Much more shaky! The Uthmanic Quran (which Dr White is referring to here as the government approved version) was suppose to be the one version for everyone, enforced with the power of state and yet it failed! It the Sana'a manuscripts prove this. Additionally there are no diacritic marks in the Uthamnic codex and yet the muslims predominantly recite the Quran according to Hafz or Warsh all which diacritics.. Lastly, Uthmans codex was written in the Qurayishi dialect, hence inadvertently deleting 6 ahruf in the process! .

Okay, so according to the logic put forth in this video, there are two options for the New Testament: 1) The same exact thing happened with New Testament when only 4 of the more than 40 known gospels were kept as part of the canonical New Testament - it only says that God did not aid the Christians in preserving and maintaining a unified text, but for Muslims, as He promised in the Qur'an, He kept His promise and guarded the Qur'an so that even if some people believe that there are other 'versions' or missing parts, there is no actual evidence to prove this, as there are no verses or surahs that can be found anywhere - it's like a ghost, a bunch of people claim it exists and tell stories about it, but when it comes to hard evidence, there is none. 2) If, as this gentleman says, it is matter of seeking truth/loving truth over being deceived, all of those other gospels (more than 40 that are not part of the New Testament) should be similarly read and compared to the 4 gospels in the New Testament and should be accepted as having truth in them. This would include the Gospel of Thomas, which says that Jesus went to India/the East after crucifixion, the Gospel of Judas, which says that Judas was actually the dearest disciple of Jesus and not accursed, and gospel of Barnabas which says that Jesus told his disciples not to worship him, that he was only a man, not God, and that they should accept Prophet Muhammad when he comes. Take your pick. Also, it is absurd to claim that '99.9999997%' of Muslims have never heard of this. I don't know what kind of Muslims he was referring to in the beginning who acted so surprised when he had told them about it in another instance, but they must have been living under a rock. The history of the compilation of the Qur'an is such a well known subject for Muslims, which should be no surprise seeing as it is clearly described in detail in Sahih Bukhari and other books of Hadith. The fact that he chose these 'variations' verses the apparent variant readings that are present to this day in the Hafs, Doori, Nafi, etc. mus-haf shows just how oblivious this gentleman is. Or maybe its because even those 'variant' readings are not 'variant' by any sense of the word, but merely describe authenticated and accepted forms of reading/pronunciation owing to differing dialects. The example he gives of chapter 3 verse 158 is also very weak, because it would not be grammatically or linguistically correct for the text to read 'laa ila-llahi tuhsharoon' - if the verse were really to say 'you will NOT be gathered unto Allah', it would have been 'ila-llahi LAA tuhsharoon', because the negating of a verb comes before the verb in Arabic, and this is easily discernible from the rest of the Qur'an - 'laa ila-llahi tuhsharoon' would translate as something like 'then it is not to Allah that you will be gathered...' in which case it would require further indication/content to say where, or to whom, you would be gathered instead, otherwise it wouldn't make sense. And maybe it is because there are few (if any) Christians who memorize the bible, but you are under a huge deception if you think for a moment that it is not possible or conceivable to accurately memorize/know with certainty the entire text of the Qur'an, down to the individual vowel inflections. Not only that, it is yet another deception/illusion to think that at the time of the compilation of the Qur'an, there were no more Huffaaz (people who had memorized the entire Qur'an by heart) left - and you are forgetting a very crucial point in this whole issue of compilation of the Qur'an - Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and Zaid bin Thabit (the one who was tasked with collecting the Qur'an) WERE ALL HUFFAAZ. They all had memorized the Qur'an by heart already during the time of Prophet Muhammad - so simply saying that Zaid had to look for the last verses of Surah Taubah as a way of trying to put into question the preservation of the entirety of the Qur'an is completely useless, because Zaid himself was a hafiz...hence why he himself KNEW that those verses existed, it was only to ensure that it was also kept (both in writing and memory) by another.
The new testament canon was picked because of the vast majority of christians all over the Roman empire and beyond was reading and copying the same books we have today without any contact with one another whatsoever. yes muslim scholars knows it for century that there are 7 different readings in qur'an that my friend you didn't mentioned once. whayever you have mentioned about burning the Qur'an is absolutely correct he did that because non arabs don't know this and would certainly start fighting on which reading is correct or which isn't ,but both the readings would be correct. its just the difference in between different tribes of arabs in which non arabs would certainly gets confused on. And hazrat uthman(r.a) knew that in future people like you would try to come up with fitna out of it, and so he discarded other readings so that there would be just one reading for whole muslim ummah

They claimed that He had done miracles, been born of a virgin, is/was the Word of God, killed by crucifixion, and had been resurrected three days later. 2. Where can we find the original manuscripts of anything from antiquity? We cant, what historians do is reconstruct it with the extent of other manuscripts. By comparing other manuscripts we can build it back almost like a puzzle fitting in where other parts are left out. Not to mention we have first century and second century Church leaders who quoted the gospel, helping us determine what the original was saying. surah 10:94 "And if thou (Muhammad) art in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto thee, then question those who read the Scripture (that was) before thee. Verily the Truth from thy Lord hath come unto thee. So be not thou of the waverers." Why would God in his supreme intellect command Muhammad to ask Christians and Jews about there scripture if he knew it was corrupt." Hadrat Usman (RA) was a great scholar of the Holy Qur’an and was a “Hafiz”(i.e. the one who commits the whole Holy Book to memory). He was well versed in “Shan-i-Nuzul” i.e. the chronology of revelation of various verses and the chapters of the Holy Qur’an, and was considered an authority in this respect. He was one of the few Companions who excelled in deriving laws from the verses of the Holy Qur’an. He had a beautiful handwriting because of which the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) appointed him as one of the scribes of the “Wahy” (Quranic Revelations). His style of writing was well recognized among the Companions of The Prophet Muhammad PBUH. He was among ten blessed companion of Prophet PBUH. The argument by Mr White carries no weitage as he is portraying that Hadrat Usman was an emporer but he failed to deliver the fact that the man himself was an authority on Quran.

The Quran has "Suwar" سور, not all came in order each in different time and location. So when the muslims realized that Quran was written on separate papers and many people who memorized it fully (memorized all papers) they gathered the papers and put them in order to form the known Quran book. The Quran doesn't have versions, it was only separated by time, the ones who memorize Quran know it all as if they have the full puzzle done.

An example from the Cristian tradition would be the Gnostic Gospels , which wold be unheard of ,if not discovered by happenstance , by a layman wandering into caves near Nag Hammadi Egypt , in 1945. What do you not understand? 1) Quran isn’t perfectly preserved. Even if it is it means nothing. Yet today we can buy more than 30 different Arabic Qurans. And we know that Uthman was required to put the Qurans on paper some 20 years after Mohammed had died. He did that because of 2 main reasons. The first was that too many people who had memorized the Quran has died in battle and the second was that different groups of Muslims recited the Qurans so differently that fights broke out as to who had memorized the Qurans correctly. So just 20 years after Mohammed had died the "excellent memorization" by Arabs had failed completely. And as we can buy more than 30 different Arabic Qurans today we know that the memorization of the Qurans (plural) has not improved.
Documentation is something we can analyze. A dead man’s words, we cannot. The method of transmission the Quran went through is based on memorization which is an extremely flimsy foundation to test the authenticity of the true words of Muhammad. Memorization cannot be perfect. Lol
