Lets Talk About Movies! Covering the years 2006 - 1981
As a 'remake' of sorts of Video No. 24 - I return to the same book '1001 Movies You Should See' and talk about the many movies that the authors have selected that is essential viewing. It covers all genres from Comedy, Horror, Sci Fi, Adventure....THis particular video covers 2006-1981. Please chip in with any comments!

I've never lost the love of being read to that I had as a child, and your vids are my favourite. I enjoy the range that you do, but agree that the whispered story books are my faves. Can't wait for the 100th! You should definitely watch The Departed, it's epic. Also, just in passing, David Hyde Pierce, Zachary Quinto and Victor Garber spring to mind as gay guys who play straight roles. Keep up the great work, and thanks.

Amazing video as always, really good and what an amazing whispering voice you have!! :) Just one thing i noticed is that you said that straight guys play gay roles and that you never get a gay guy to play a straight role, but that is not completely true. For example Neil Patrick Harris (who is gay) plays a very lady loving guy in How I Met Your Mother and the same with Matt Bomer in White Collar :) Just a little trivia ;)

If you're talking about all forms of "film media" including TV ,in How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris plays a straight character and he's gay. Same has happened for a few lesbian actresses.

Has the Xmen: Days of Future Past reached the UK by now? Perhaps so. So many foreign actors in it, but it was fantastic! If you like sci fi...and comics as I do, definitely worth a see! Very good crew of talent.

Great video! I'm wondering, do you enjoy Game of Thrones? The book series is great and the TV adaptation is superb in my opinion. Considering your love Lord of the Rings i figure that would be somewhat of a sign you would enjoy it. It's much more adult themed though haha.

Is it common in England to list a period of years as (most recent) - (least recent)? I've always been accustomed to listing it the other way around, so I would list the years as 1981- 2006. Not saying your way is wrong, I'm just legitimately curious.

Dude you have gay actors playing straight characters all the time. Biggest one I can think of, Neil Patrick Harris. Plus the numerous lesbians who play straight roles.

"You never see a gay actor play a straight role..." What about Dick Sargeant, Paul Lynt, Robert Reed, Marlon Brando (bisexual), George Takei, Rock Hudson....the list goes on. It's just that all these actors were CLOSETED, because until much too recently, being gay in Hollywood was unacceptable. Sorry, didn't mean to rant. I love this video and fall asleep to it most nights, but every time I hear that line it bugs me.
