99% Of Golfers SHOULD Use These NEW “CHEAP” Irons in 2024. This video will show you all and you will understand exactly what I mean as you watch it. When golfers, whether that be mid handicap, average golfers, low handicap or high handicap golfers are buying new golf clubs there are certain things you need to think about... which golf clubs should you buy? Which irons should you get? Are you buying the right golf clubs for your ability? A these the best golf clubs of 2024? the best irons of 2024? The best budget irons? On the topic of price, its so important that you shop within your budget.. these new very cheap irons are all under £500! Could these be forgiving?! I recently I did a video saying that 99% of golfers should consider using the Mizuno JPOX Hot Metal, Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke HL. A lot of golfers said they have been using the Taylormade Qi10 HL and even the PING G430 irons but are these a better "cheap" alternative? Should 99% of golfers use these "CHEAP" irons?!
Could these be a perfect alternative to the other best forgiving irons of 2024 category. 99% Of Golfers SHOULD Use These NEW “CHEAP” Irons!

There was a similar falloff from the 7 iron to the 6 iron, only a yard difference on average. I know that because of my swing speed, I find it difficult to get anything like optimal performance out of any iron longer than about a 6 iron. 6, 5 and 4 irons all launch very low and go about the same distance. I'm sure than I am not alone; iron swing speeds below 80 mph are not going to get the return in performance that a 90 mph swing will get. So above 6 iron, I'm hitting hybrids.

These budget DTC companies are a deal, but really doing many customers a disservice by forcing them into buying 4 and 5 irons they probably don’t need or want. A 4-pw set with no gap wedge to match is pretty ridiculous in this day and age. Roll with the times. 6-gap should be available at least.

Maybe they'll start offering hybrid sets. Just need to make enough of their irons to get to that point. I do like the G-6 idea, definitely.

6-gw is only being done, because they've made the lofts so strong. But a 44 degree PW, needs it agreed.

They have less options anyways Takomo got the whole line of wedges and if these are mid-low hcp probably you will likely go with 3 speciality wedges. Wheb I was 10 and still many sets go with 5, 6-pw+sw and that enough for begginer but remember those are mid-low hcp...they know what and why are doing

Check out Maltby. Golfworks is their parent company in Ohio, US. They carry absolutely every option and type of club. Also they don't pigeonhole folks into buying anything specific that they might not need. They do offer club Paks with various options including 5-GW.

I know alot about golf equipment and used to buy, use and sell almost every day. I have had just about everything at one time or another. I took a chance about 4 months ago and ordered a set of Macgregor VIP irons. They are around 250.00 for 4-PW. Very little shocks me but these have. Besides the cheap grips which I replaced they have been incredible. Great feel, forgiveness and the biggest shock has been the durability. Like I said I have had and tried them all and these stack up to any game improvement irons I've ever had. Cheers

I wanna try the Macspeed irons. You can get. 5-GW for. $499. Not too shabby. I’d add the Lampkin cross line grips and that brings it to $541 and you can get it custom length and lie angle.

Exactly like my Callaway ST Pro irons, shorter irons go ridiculous distances but 5 and 4 about the same. Also found you get flyers a lot. Who hits an 8 iron 175 yards at 62 yrs old .

I would like to see the new Caley irons compared against the new Maltby irons. Both seem like great quality clubs. The brand new Wilson irons look fantastic as well.

I would definitely go 5- pw in irons like this, have a nice 3 or 4 iron hybrid. Driver and 3 wood. 3 wedges 50/56/60 to help smooth the gapping on the low end. Then the putter to complete the set.

I know you say you're willing to try anything. Serious question and not teying to condescend, but are you willing to pay for a set of irons to test? Maltby irons are some of the best DTC available and better than a lot of OEM's. Price point is exceptional and the product is world class. Unfortunately they wont send out test sets for review because they have a strongly established and loyal client base. That said, they deserve more exposure and are truly the original DTC pioneer. Everything's original design, they have a wide variety of models and shaft options. They cover a very broad range of skill and budget options. Please check them out.

Just went and got fitted at The Golfworks for their brand new TE+ V4's. I agree, they need more exposure. I'm a very high handicapper but loved how soft and forgiving they were on my hits all over the face

I agree about Maltby golf gear, especially their irons, being exceptional. I currently game the TS1-im’s and I’ve owned every brand under the sun including Miura and Vega (Pricey Brands). My question is why do you care if a brand like Maltby gets more exposure for being exceptional? I like the fact they preform incredibly well for me and people don’t know what they are or where to get them. Maltby irons are golfs best secret gear imo. Maltby can pay for marketing if they wanted to, so they clearly don’t care if the world knows about their gear.

@@Joker-yh2xg oh you're 100% spot on with that last part. Maltby really doesn't need the exposure and obviously they're quite content with where they are in the industry. I guess a part of me is just tired of all of these pop up DTC companies claiming to be the best thing around for new or budget friendly golfers. I agree it's a total catch-22 in that Maltby is golf's best kept secret and why not just leave it at that?... Or share the goodness with the world and help educate people that only know about what they see on RU-vid. I guess I'm in the later of those two 😜

Maltby TS1-IM are as good or better than any iron on the market. You can get custom fit and they are half the price of the big brands. Love the channel, keep them coming my friend.

My friend has some Maltby TS1 IM irons and that’s what he uses all the time. They are fantastic looking irons. The Caley 01T seem very inconsistent for a T style iron. I’d call Golf Works and see if they can build you a set to review on your channel. I seriously doubt you’ll be disappointed. They are a little bit more expensive than the Caley or Takomo, and they are even a bit more if you get KBS shafts in them. They don’t come with them stock. Give them a shot for sure.

Strong lofts are ruining golfers games. Loft is your friend, it increases the margin of error for face misalignment. The less the loft, the more precise you need to be.

Golfers are ruining their games by not getting a 7 wood and a 5 hybrid. Golf companies love the fact they can sell more clubs as people need more wedges and more hybrids.

You should test the PXG 0211’s. You can also get fitted with Mitsubishi graphite shafts for $99/club.

I am a relatively new golfer and high handicapper. I bought the Caley 01T’s and I like them. They are billed as mid handicap irons but I get good distance from them and they are quite forgiving. They are only available 4-PW as someone else has already commented. I found the 4 and 5 go similar distances but thought that was my poor technique. I got the hybrid bundle on offer and the 4hybrid certainly goes. A bit annoying it duplicates another club though. The PW at 44 degrees means you need to think about wedge gapping as well.

I switched from the stealth irons to the 790s and I will say the stealth were fairly accurate on my numbers but I would get those flyers that would go 10 yds or more longer,,haven't seen this with the 790s

Great review once again mate, they really do look good...like you said as well, I will ditch the 4i and rather replace it with a 4H, much better distance of the face with it and more versatile anyway as well.

The gapping would be a worry for me. It makes me wonder what the quality control is like. Are the stated lofts accurate on the clubs you get? Or is it an issue with the club heads internally? Fair play for the full set test Alex. Without that, you’d never pick up on the issue. Not like some other YT testers who might just compare 7 irons.

The gap between pw and 9 is massive. The 6 and 4 irons seemed off for you. Not sure if that was loft or what. But the irons look great. They seem to be very forgiving. After the review I would think twice before getting them for me personally.

Try the Ram FX 77 irons , they look exactly the same head. Also with KBS steel shafts or ust recoil graphite

@@paulstephenson5815 I've used mine for only 3 rounds so far but have to say I'm very pleased that I bought them. The graphite shafts have meant I've steadied my swing but still get good distance and my dispersion has been better

@paulstephenson5815 had mine for 3 rounds and very impressed. Bought the graphite shaft option and my distances are pretty similar ( maybe a few yards longer ) even with a steadier swing and the dispersion is way better

Many of the Dtc irons are open stock heads.Anybody can customise them.with an order of 100 sets.

I'd love to see a DTC company comparison; Takomo, Caley and other brands alongside an off-the-shelf major brand just to see how these compare. These Caleys look a lot like the Takomo 101s and I would be interested to see if a lot of these DTC are based on the same formula and if that formula can really beat the big boys.

I would rather buy a set of clean used irons a couple model years old and spend the money to have them fitted. Better clubs in the end and does not have to be as much money.

Hey Alex, I have a set of Haywood signature irons. I would say the pretty much same ones as the Caley. I also am running into the same issue where my 4 iron is same distance as my 5 and very close to my 6 . So do you think because the lofts are so strong and with the shafts paired with them are not launching them high enough? Or do you think you would need pga swing speed to get those longer irons to work ? Thanks buddy, love the equipment reviews . And when are you gonna play in some tournaments this summer ? what if you added a couple of degrees loft to the 4 iron, and then with the added loft and the length may give the appropriate gapping results? Could you try that?

Problem can't buy 5 - pw only come in 4 - pw. Take a look at Takomo irons look the same and preform the same.

I’ll explain, if you go to Caley’s website they don’t sell left handed sets, so being a left handed golfer watching this particular review about a set of irons that only right handed players can use is a waste of time. Now, if you look at at PXG’s website they do sell left handed clubs, so a review of their clubs is more interesting for me as a left handler.

All these are from same manufacture and there is not none of R&D. These are cheap copys but their marketing says "Premium product at low cost". All the same. They look the same etc. I recomended all with these irons (all brands) check the club faces. Many of these are face pushed in.

Maltby is one of the few that actually designs their own heads and they have design innovations that are proprietary. All forged iron faces are milled for tolerance. Hopefully someone other than LetsPlayThru can get a set to review. They're as good as anything!
